Beast
The crowd went roaring with disapproval.
This was the first time these matches ended without a death. I never hesitated to kill, but this time... I can't.
I can kill anyone, no matter how weak, pitiful or strong they might be, but not him.
Shouts for the alpha to kill me were roaring among the crowd, but the alpha shushed them with a low growl.
Everyone in the arena went quiet and froze in their places. Everyone was affected by his alpha power...well, everyone but me and Daniel.
Daniel didn't give a f**k about what the alpha was doing or saying. All of his attention was concentrated on me.
He was still on top of me, not moving, just staring into my eyes.
He didn't say anything and neither did I.
Truth to be told, I am not sure if my voice even worked after all this time of not using it.
Alpha's loud voice filled the now quiet arena.
"Today's game is over. Everyone leaves, I will announce the time of the next fight in the next few days."
Voices of disapproval filled the arcana, but people started to move out bit by bit.
When the arena was finally empty, Alpha turned to us and started talking to Daniel.
"As we agreed, she is yours. You have two hours to leave."
And with those last words he left us alone.
Daniel stayed in place until it was clear that we were alone.
Then slowly he released my hands and the moment he did that, I slammed him off me. Sending him flying to the nearest wall.
He crashed with a loud bang and I jumped to my feet.
"You could just ask me to get off, there is no need to be so violent."
His voice was calm as he slowly climbed to his feet.
I paid him no attention and started moving to the nearest exit.
Sure, I can't kill him, but it doesn't mean that I will stay here to wait for him to drag me back to the pack.
I left that part of my life behind and I did it for a reason.
Before I could reach the door, he caught up with me and grabbed my shoulder.
In one swift movement, I pushed his hand off, but this time he was expecting that and, just like always, he was fast to react. Grabbing my hand and pulling me to his chest.
"You got even more violent over the years."
With all my strength, I tried to break out but he had me in a tight lock.
"Stop it before you hurt yourself."
I really wanted to say a snarky comeback, but the only sound that left my throat was a low broken growl.
But that didn't raise any sort of reaction from him, he just continued to hold me patiently.
I calmed down, pretending to give in, and waited for him to relax, but I guess he knew me better than that because his hold on me stayed the same.
"When I am going to release you, you will stay in place and then we are going back to the pack."
I guess he waited for my answer and when I gave him a slight nod, his hands slowly slid down from my shoulders.
The moment I was free, with all my strength, I pushed him into the nearest wall. A clear sound of breaking bones filled the arena. This time he released a little sound of pain, but I pushed any concerns for him down and started walking out of the arena again. I walked at a fast pace and this time I was outside when he caught up with me.
"You know that you just broke one of my ribs? That kinda hurt."
I rolled my eyes at his words.
Not that it really hurt or that it left any sort of permanent damage, by now he probably was completely healed.
"Erin?"
I didn't answer him and just continued to walk.
"ERIN."
This time his tone had a lot more power in it, as he was the alpha, it made me stop for a second.
Asshole, he knew how much I hated it when he did that.
"Well, this is better. As I was saying before, we are going home, now."
He now stood right in front of me, not leaving me any choice but to look up at him and stare him in the eyes.
Shit, s**t, s**t.
Why do his eyes have to look so beautiful?
Why do they have to take my breath away every time I look at him?
We stood like that staring at each other for a few moments, completely frozen in time.
His hand slowly started to rise as he reached out to touch my cheek.
My initial response was to break his hand and hiss at him like the wild animal that I was right now.
I clapped my teeth at his wrist, but he released a little growl, forcing me to freeze.
"Erin..."
There were so many emotions in his voice, so many emotions that I did not want to deal with.
I was about to step back when his hand gripped my neck tighter and something sharp pierced my neck.
For a few moments I was confused as to what had happened, but then everything started to get dark and my whole body started to get numb.
He drugged me...great.
My body was falling one moment and in his arms the next. For a few moments, I was sure that he was whispering something to me, but I couldn't understand a word he was saying.
Shit.
My mind started to go completely black from whatever he dragged me with...
I hoped that it would go into complete darkness... that I could rest...
But a moment later I was back in that room... the scent of blood... the screams...
No...
No...
I wanted to scream, to do something, to run... but I was the young girl again, frozen in fear...
No...
No...
