A birthday party

AFTER SOME TIME

AT THE ATLANTHEA'S POW:

I can not believe that today in evening I am going to have my birthday party. It's pretty exciting and I decided to spend more time with my father today. I am not sure if he is going to have enough time for me since I have my birthday this evening. I do hope that he will spend some time with me. When I woke up it was only eight am, so I had a whole day before the party.

-Hi, Alya.-I said.

-Hello, princess.-She said.- I already have got a prepared outfit for you.

-Thanks.-I said and smiled.

-Your father is waiting for you at your usual breakfast place. He wishes to eat breakfast with you.-Alya said before bowing and leaving.

I nodded and changed into another set of clothes. It was a pretty simple outfit, but I am sure that at my birthday party they are going to make me change into more fancier clothes. I finished getting ready and went to our place. As soon as I arrived there, I saw my father waiting for me.

-Hello, sweathart.-He said.

-Hello, dad.-I said.

-I hope that you are hungry. I asked the cook to make your favorite meals.-He said.

-I am happy to hear it and thanks dad.-I said and smiled.

-Everything for you.-He said and I nodded.

After that, both of us ate our food and then we took a small swim around the castle. It was pretty weird to see so many servants around, but I almost got used to it. It's a short time since I got here, but I am slowly starting to enjoy myself like here.

-What are you going to do before the party?-He asked.

-I am going to visit the library like usual and spend some time looking for the right accessories for my dress. I want to look my best today.-I said.

-That is what I like to hear.-He said and nodded.

I watched how he swam off and I sighed. I thought he was gonna spend more time with me, but that is fine I guess.

-I need to find more information about etiquette and stuff or I am going to fail it.-I muttered.

It took me an hour to find the needed stuff. I have never been to a birthday party before mine, so I need all the information I can find. I must be like a mermaid princess or dad will get suspicious. I do not want him to get mad at my birthday. Time to do this.

AFTER A FEW HOURS

AT ATLANTHEA'S ROOM

It took me a while to read everything. I knew that there was going to be a lot of information, but I never had ever thought about it so much. I hope that I am not going to mess up. Time to find those accessories. It took me about an hour to find the right ones. After some time I was asked to change it to my birthday and I do like it.

Downstairs, I saw a lot of people gathering. I think my birthday party will start soon and I am going to have to start spending more time with them. I am worried since I am meeting these royal people for the first time, so it's scary for me. I look around and notice my dad talking with some of the guests who are wearing fancy outfits. I swam closer to them and bowed a bit.

-Thanks for coming here.-I said.

-Of course, princess.-One of them said.

-What is it now, dad?-I asked.

-Soon we are going to eat and cut cake. After that you will get your birthday gifts, sweetie.-Dad said.

-Thanks, dad.-I said and nodded.

Soon after we all ate our meals, I was able finally able to go to the gift table. I got closer and saw a lot of gifts waiting for me. I feel pretty happy to see that. I felt pretty excited. I knew that those were going to be pretty good and it would be nice to get something for my birthday. In the past years, I barely got anything, but I liked those small and cute gifts.

-Go ahead sweetie and open something.-Dad said.

I nodded and took the nearest box. It was wrapped in seaweed, but I was not surprised to know that we were in an underwater castle. I opened a box and found some soft materials.

-It's for your future dresses.-A woman said.

-Thank you. I really like it.-I said and smiled.

-I am happy to hear that.-Woman said and nodded.

I nodded and smiled. It feels nice to get gifts like that. I opened a few more boxes and noticed that some of those things were from drowned ships and stuff. They are good quality, but it feels sad knowing that other people lost their stuff just because them becoming mine.

-Everything alright, princess?-Alya asked.

-Everything is great. I like these a lot.-I said and smiled softly.

-I am happy to hear that, darling.-Dad said.

I opened one more box and gasped a bit.

-Something is wrong?-a man with a dark coat asked.

-No, no. Everything is great. I love this!-I said.

It was a small porcelain sculpture and I had some in my room. I was so happy when my father got it for me.

-That was a last gift. I am happy that you like them a lot.-Dad said.

I nodded and smiled. I watched how more of the guests started swimming around in a dance and then I heard father talking with someone. Now I know that it was not the best idea to listen to them, since it's going to be hard to forget something like that.

-Have you told her about a curse?-He asked.

-I am going to tell her tonight after a party. I hope that she is going to make the right choice.-I heard dad's voice.

Curse? What curse? I have no idea what he is talking about. I tried to swim backwards but I accidentally made a vase fall on the ground.

-Atlanthea?-Dad asked.

-FATHER?-I asked.-Am I cursed?

I saw how his skin color got paler and he gulped.

-I will tell you everything you know after we finish the party.-He said and swam off.

It seems that soon we will have to talk about everything.
