Chapter 9

Kaia Celene

"THE PAIN OF BETRAYAL." I screamed as another shot of pain came. I have to wake up. I looked at Alexia and forced a smile.

"Contact me again sometime. I'll be fine; be safe Alexia."

I woke up with all the sweat dropping from my face.

'Leah are you alright?'  I asked my wolf but I was taken by surprise when she suddenly yelled at me.

'Let me out. It hurts.' she yelled in pain. I tried to stand and slowly walked out of my room. I covered my mouth to hold my screams and whimper as I struggle to get pass through the silent corridors of the castle.

'Kaia it hurts.' I can almost feel Leah's tears inside my head and with all the strength I had I doubled my pace to finally get out of the castle.

'We're almost there Leah.' I whispered to her.

It took me long but I made it outside the castle. The moment I was out I shifted into my wolf letting Leah take over. She's in pain. Both of us are.

We ran deeper into the forest, far away from the castle where no one can hear us. We ran and ran until we reached a cliff where you can see the moon at its finest but it wasn't enough to ease the pain. Again another shot of pain came making Leah howl in pain.

'Leah it’s too much. Please do something.'  I begged Leah. Understanding my request she nodded and slammed our body to a big tree then to another and another; clawing the ground, the trees, howling and whimpering.

After three hours of running and slamming our body to the tress, the pain stopped. My cuts and bruises are slowly healing but my body felt tired. I am still in my wolf form and I know Leah is tired too.

'Why does it hurt so much?' I asked Leah.

'It's because he's an alpha Leah. An alpha king to be exact, every time he f***s around, it's ten times more painful than normal mates.' Leah answered not showing any emotion. 

'He's gonna pay for this.' Leah growled. I shifted back to my human form letting Leah rest. I am fine now; the bruises are gone thanks to the werewolf healing abilities. I walked back to the castle not minding my nakedness. 

I heard a growl and I turn around to see a grey wolf glaring at me. I gave it a bored look. I am not in the mood right now so it’s best not to piss me off. He was about to attack me when someone stopped him.

"STOP!!!" I turn around and saw Kade standing with only his boxer shorts on. I looked at the wolf which has already shifted back to his human form. 

"But beta Anderson she is a rogue. I can smell her filthy scent all over the place." the man said glaring at me. Kade growled at him. 

"Get dressed Greg or I'm going to rip THAT tiny little bag out." the man whose name is Greg got scared and hurriedly shifted back to his wolf leaving Kade and I. We looked at each other and confusion was all over Kade's face.

"What are doing outside.......naked?" he asked trying to focus his attention to my face. 

"I went for a run." I simply said walking past him. I went inside the castle and I wasn't expecting my mate to be there.

"Where have----" he growled when he saw me. I frowned. What is his problem now? I looked at him with a blank expression and I smelled that s**t's scent all over him. My eyes darkened but I ignored it. I walked past him and went straight to my room. 

I slammed my body to my bed still n***d. I was about to embrace sleep when the door slammed open.

"Where did you go this late at night?" I glanced at my mate and saw his eyes growing darker as he saw me.

"Are you trying to seduce me mate?" Ashton growled. I rolled my eyes at him and went into my closet to wear some clothes.

"Seduce you? You’re joking. I don’t even find you a bit attractive. I’ve seen men with more balls than you." I slipped into a pair of PJ’s and I was expecting him to leave but he’s still standing there.

“What are you still doing here? I don’t have enough energy to----“ I didn’t get to finish my sentence when Aston swiftly pinned me on  my bed.

“You’ve been pushing me to my limit mate. I still have the energy to spare a round or two, maybe three.” I gritted my teeth pushing him away but he’s not moving an inch. Now he is pushing ME to my limit.

“You’re really testing my patience King. I know you already had s*x with that Nic-w***e so get your filthy body away from me.” Ashton had a frown on his face as he slowly took his body off me. I mentally sighed in relief but he had that devilish smile on his face as he looked at me. I got up from bed and stood in front of him meeting his gaze.

“I’ll let you be for now because I want our first to be special.” He started to walk closer to me and instead of taking a step back I remained on the spot not showing any fear.

“I want you scream my name as I f*ck you and bend you to my will.” I had goosebumps all over my body as he leaned over to my neck sniffing my scent.

“Get out.” I said in a cold tone.

"You’re ordering me again. Let me remind you mate that you are standing in my castle, in my kingdom and in my territory. I fed you and clothed you; show me some respect.” He has a rather calm voice his face still close to my neck.

“I said get out.” I pushed him away from and it angered him. he growled at me  eyes shifting from forest green to black.

“You dare order me? Me the KING.” He snarled.

"Oh I wouldn't DARE to order you around babe. You're the king after all." I gave him a playful smile.

"You didn't answer my question. Where did you go earlier?" he asked voice even louder and with more power. He’s a fool if he thinks he can dominate me.

"Is it wrong for a werewolf to go for a run?" I asked in a bored tone.

"In the middle of the night? Yes." 

"Why does it matter to you anyway?"  I asked starting to get annoyed. 

"One of my guards almost attacked you. They still don't know you're my mate." he growled.

"Oh really? I bet you have no plans of telling them I’m your mate. Why am I not surprised. If he attacked me I would have killed him. But are you seriously concerned about me right now or is it only because you don't want the whole kingdom of yours to know that you have a good for nothing rogue for a mate?'' he fell silent thus answering my question.

"It will take an eternity before someone like you defeat one of my warriors." I gritted my teeth in annoyance with his mockery.

"Oh try me." I gave him a challenging look which he returned with a smirk.

"Alright then I’ll announce your acceptance trial tomorrow. Let’s see if you have the strength worthy of a warrior." I glared at him. Should I accept it? I don’t want to be part of his pack.

'He's challenging us???!!!! He dared challenge us!!!!!' Leah growled feeling insulted.

Leah hates it when people question her strength.

'Calm down Leah. We can’t just make rash decisions.' Again Leah growled.

‘I want to show that little pup that he’s messing with the wrong bitch.’ I sighed in defeat. There’s no point arguing with Leah right now. She gets what she wants and she wants to destroy Ashton’s warriors. 

"See for yourself. I’ll wipe out your entire army right before your eyes. I will show you the strength worthy of a Queen." words just came out from my mouth and it took me a second to realize what I just said. It was Leah. She said it. Ashton gave me a one sided smile before walking out of my room.

'I’ll make him regret looking down on us.' Leah said. I sighed. It’s now or never.

I woke up when I felt a slight pain in my chest. I gritted my teeth as I realized what it was. He must be having a make out session with his s**t this early in the morning. I grabbed my phone and looked at the time. It's still five in the morning. I ignored the pain and went straight to the bathroom to get ready for my acceptance trial.

Leah got us in this mess and I have no choice but to do my part. Leah’s burning with rage and it is affecting my emotions. I want to stay cool and collected but Leah’s going wild. I can feel her bloodlust overpowering my senses.

'Leah, will you cut it out?'  Leah started to calm down and I can feel myself calming as well. We can’t let our emotions overpower us; that will be the cause of our defeat.

'I'm fine now. I’m sorry Kaia.' she said in a calmer voice. I can understand her anger. I’m angry too but I need to be in control if we wish to succeed. I clenched my fist before getting out of the shower and change. 

Moments later I heard a very loud whistle. I looked outside my window and noticed everyone walking out of the castle. I wonder what’s happening.

I walked out of my room and followed everyone. We went to a very wide field with weapons and other training equipment everywhere. In the middle of the field is a small fighting arena. Not bad werewolf kingdom.

I can feel everybody staring at me. Some are cautious, confused, and curious. Some are even glaring at me. Most of the bitches are. It’s not my fault I was born hot.

I kept my face void with emotion as I approached the arena. I saw my mate standing at a small stage near the arena. He was scanning the whole field as if looking for someone until his eyes landed on me. He motioned me to come over and so I did. Even though I hate it when people order me around, well I have no choice but to obey. I went upstage beside him with no emotion displayed on my face.

"Good morning warriors. I know you're all wondering about the identity of this lady standing beside me. She is Kaia Storm a new recruit." everyone is listening attentively until a girl with a red hair raised her hand.

"But sire she's a rogue. We can't trust her." said the girl which was seconded by many.

"Yes Veronica she's a rogue. Our guard found her by the border wounded and almost dead." I frowned at Ashton's story. That's not what happened? I looked at him in disbelief. His mind is as twisted as his personality.

"We held her captive in the t*****e chamber to interrogate her and we found out that she was running away from the rogues who attacked her previous pack." he continued. Unbelievable. He's really a good storyteller. He's making all this nonsense to what? To hide from everyone that I am his mate? A rogue?

"She told us she was a previous warrior in her pack and asked if she can join our pack as one of the warriors. So today we are going to witness her strength if she is worthy enough to join our pack." Ashton glanced at me and smirked.

"As a pack tradition we are going to give her three trials. If she's able to pass all three of them then she'll be welcomed to the pack as one of our warriors. If she passes only one of the trials she will still be accepted to the pack but as an omega." I growled at what he just said. An omega? He's gonna make me a f*****g omega? A pack servant?

Leah’s calm demeanour has now turned into rage as she listened to Ashton’s stupidity. Leah felt insulted and underestimated.

'I want blood Kaia. You don’t have to kill anyone but whatever the trial is I want it bloody.'

Silently I agreed with Leah and I know she gets the idea. Her voice was dangerously calm as she said those words. I would never give him the satisfaction he wants. The game's just started and I will make him pay for looking down on us. King Ashton Black of the werewolf kingdom, I will give you the best game you'll never forget.
