One month

It had been a little over a month since Kota had awaken. Slowly she began remembering small pieces of her past but still the holes in her memory made things uncertain for her. My wife and I sat outside on the beach sparkling in the sun. I couldn't deny how bad I hated sparkling it just came across girly. Alice had stopped by and brought us a small photo album that had pictures of Kota's pregnancy, our wedding and our babies. I was shocked to see that Dakota had my hair, he was now a year old in his looks and had a head full of hair that was thick and dark. He reminded me so much of my baby pictures. Emma had her mothers blonde hair that hung at her shoulders. My children... our children were beautiful. Kota had finished looking at the photo album and set it in the sand beside her. "Where did we first meet?" she asked as she looked out over the sparkling water. I looked at her and smiled. "The first official moment that we met I sorta almost knocked you out. I was in a hurry to get to my first class and accidentally plowed through you as you were coming around the corner." She gasped and quickly brought her hand up to her head as if she had a headache. She reminded me of Alice during Bella's pregnancy. Just as quickly as she had brought her hand to her head she dropped it and went back to looking at the ocean. "What happened to my family? Do they know what I've become? Do they miss me?" she asked in a weird tone. She didn't remember. I rose to my feet and brought her to hers as well. "You were like an orphan." I answered cautiously. She was still considered a new born so she was a risk. I had to be careful about how I said things and what I said. Anything could unhinge her or set her off and I didn't want to be on the recieving end of a newborn. It was no doubt that Kota was stronger then I was and she would be until the human blood left her system completely. She wiped her eyes with her hands and nodded her head. "Yeah that's right. I guess I forgot." "Your parents were murdered and you barely survived." I added. She silently headed into the water. "So everything is real? My marraige with your, our children." she said as she watched the waves forming in the distance. I moved carefuly into the water and waded to her side. I took her hand into mine and brought it slowly to my lips. "Everything is real." I confirmed. When she turned to look at me I could see the hurt in her eyes. "I'm sorry that I don't remember anything at all but I want to. If I was in love I want to feel that again, and our children I'd love to meet them." My eyes widened. "I- I can't let you around them at the moment." I said quickly. "It's just that you are a new born and-" I was cut short by a growl erupting from her throat. The way her jaw flexed I knew that she was grinding her teeth. "Kota." I whispered as I took a few steps back towards the shore to give her some space. "Relax." I hear footsteps and I was quickly joined by Carlisle, Edward and Jasper. Kota turned quickly towards them and crouched down in a defensive position. Hisses slipped from her lips and she swiped at the air. "What do I do?" I asked them as I kept Kota in my eyes view. Jasper came forward and looked at her. Instantly I felt calm which meant so did Kota. I watched as the anger of her being seemed to slip away. She looked at me and smiled. "Sorry about that, I knew I shouldn't have I just wanted to see what would happen if I were to get angry." She joked before she walked out of the water and towards the house. I was confused. So Kota was just testing me? I ran after her and grabbed her gently at her upper arm. She hissed and quickly turned around to face me. "You shouldn't do that" she said as she yanked her arm away. "Now tell me, when do I get to see my children?" I looked at her and slowly shook my head. "I told you." "I DIDN'T LIKE THE ANSWER!" she screamed back at me. "How can you be so heartless. You tell me I have children but then say I can't see them. I am their mother, they need me." She hissed bitterly before she went into the house. I took a few seconds to get my mind in order and headed inside after her. I found her standing in the corner talking to Alice. I joined them and was immeadiately bombarded by Alice. "She isn't dangerous." She said quickly. "But you said you saw her killing a human." I replied. "I know but I take that back. I was looking at it the wrong way. I searched for her killing people but I didn't search for her being in danger. She was defending herself." Alice finished quickly. "I admit I was wrong." Carlisle, Edward and Jasper joined us. "Her mind shows no sign of instability." Edward said plainly. "I still don't think that we should put my children at risk like this." I said, taking time to consider and choose my words. Carlisle moved closer. "What if we make a deal-" he began. "-one month and if everything is good we can bring your children out to the island." "I'd rather be safe then sorry, I'm in." I said immeadiately. I looked at Kota and saw the expression in her face. I had seen this expression one other time and that was on the face of my mother Esme. I remembered it all too clearly, the day that Rosalie had died. Very slowly I moved to Kota and pulled her into my arms. She didn't hesitate but willingly responded by wrapping her arms around me and nuzzling into my chest. "One month." she whispered. "One month and then we can see our children." "I have a present for you two." Alice said in her sing song voice. Kota and I gave our attention to Alice who escorted us into the next room. There on a desk was a large computer screen and staring back at us were two infants. The boy looked about 2 years old and had my dark thick hair. The girl looked a little bit smaller by a few cenemeters and had blonde hair. They were looking right at us, drool dripping down there chin, with a toothy grin. Very slowly Kota moved forward and pressed her hand against the computer screen. "Momma!" Emma began squeeling. I watched as Emma and Dakota begain putting there hands against the computer screen and pointing at us. I moved over to stand beside Kota and wrapped my arm around her waist as we began talking to our twins over a video chat. The moment they began talking I knew they like Nessie at their age was smart and intelligent. It fascinated me and my wife as we listened to them speaking in full sentences. The twins went on about the foods they tried and like the foods they tried and didn't like. They even talked about playing in the snow with their cousin Nessie. They enjoyed playing in it but didn't like being cold afterwards. After an hour of chatting Esme came and got the twins so they could take a nap. She had a schedule for them and she wanted to keep things regulated. We said our good nights and then traded out with Edward so he could talk to Bella and Nessie and see their faces. Before we walked from the room Nessie spotted us. "Hi aunt Kota, uncle Emmett!" She squeeked. Kota turned to look at the source of her name and froze when she saw Renesmee. Very slowly she walked forward and pressed her hand against Nessie's face displayed on the screen. Nessie pressed her hand against the screen to match Kota's and smiled. From the back of the room I watched as Kota tensed up and dropped her hand. In a flash she disappeared from the room. I quickly followed and found her with her back to me. Carefully I moved forward and stopped when she turned quickly to face me. "What is it?" I asked her. I watched nervously as Kota moved forward. When she was less than an inch from me she looked into my eyes. Slowly she reached her hand up to meet my cheek and closed her eyes. "I remember everything." She whispered. I stood, frozen and confused. What did she mean when she said everything. How much did she remember. "I don't under-" I began. Her lips were pressed against mine before I could react. It was quick but full of passion and love. When we pulled apart she grinned slightly. "I remember our love."
