1881 Words
Back in Angel Bay, Vera shifted comfortably on the bed as she had a lot on her mind, it had been two days since she had visited the disposed of the queen and her words seemed to weigh down heavily on her because she seems to know so much about her without actually knowing her personally. After several attempts of trying to get the thoughts off her mind, she decided she needed to see the queen. Turning she found her mate sleeping peacefully behind her, she slowly and quietly stood making sure not to make any noise as she slowly placed her feet to the ground and headed to her dressing room to grab cloak which she used to cover her face as she slowly left the room but made sure her mate was still very much asleep but the moment she closed the door behind her Claus's eyes fluttered open. Vera treaded quietly down the dimly lighted hallways as she headed down to the dungeon where Queen Angelite was. “Who’s there?” One of the two guards that were situated at the door asked with their eyes slightly squeezed while they were trying to make out the approaching figure. “Show yourself” the guard’s words came again as the figure got closer to them. But since there was no response one of the guards bared his poisonous claws and advanced ready to attack until the hood on Vera was immediately swept back by her hands revealing her face. “My queen it’s you” The guard’s head immediately lay low in a slight bow while he slowly retracted his claws. “I apologise your highness I have no idea it was you coming- “Open the gates” Vera commanded neglecting his excuse of almost attacking her since he knew he was just doing his job of preventing intruders. “Yes, my queen” He immediately heeded her orders by opening the gates for her. Vera felt the need to take her pills immediately she entered into the dungeon to see the queen’s head hanging so low again. ‘She’s dying’ one of the voices in her head told her and she gulped hard. ‘I don’t think it matters since she isn’t useful anyway’ another voice said and the headache started. “Hey” She announced her presence while acting unbothered by the queen’s appearance. “I have a few questions to ask you” She added not waiting for the queen to show any forms of movement. “You said something about creating a balance between the two natures; you said no hybrid had ever managed to attain that level before except one…who was that?” Vera questioned as the voices in her head continue to rage at her. There was no response from the queen and it sort of infuriated me. “Don’t think I’m asking for your help right now? I just want to know if truly there are others like me” Vera pridefully spoke before angrily moving to the queen and yanking her hair to get her to look up at her but then her hair burned her hands making her immediately let go but the queen’s face was raised and her expression was blank, she looked unconscious and it made her heart pound against her ribs but then she found something on her wrist…it was a slight sting mark which had strange colouring around it, a sting mark she recognised so well. “Guards!” She literally roared and one of the guards immediately raced in to heed her call. “Set her loose” Her command took the guard by surprise and for a moment the guard hesitated until she glanced sharply at the guard with a pure black-filled eye that had black vein pulling to her head she let her demon side take over for a minute making it possible to have the guard instantly obey her. The two guards immediately set the queen free and before she could fall to the ground she caught her and rested her head on her chest. “Help me with her…take her to one of the free chambers- “But my queen isn’t that a little- “Now!” Vera bellowed and the guards immediately do as she instructed before she left to walk her way down to the other alleyway that led to other dungeons…guards situated at each door of the cells paid respect to her bowing slightly as she passed. She panted out softly after getting to the door she had in mind. The guards realizing what her presence means immediately opened the door to the dungeon for him and she walked in to see a few higher officials who had refused to pledge their allegiance to him. “Are you the royal physician?” Vera asked the woman who had her head rested on the wall with her legs folded in front of her while literally ignoring Vera’s presence. “Your queen needs your attention” Vera’s declaration got their attention and they all turned to her. The royal doctor sprout to her feet to face Vera. “What took you so long?” The question had Vera frowning. “You shall show me- “The respect you deserve, you will have me locked while my queen dies if I do not keep my mouth short I get it but she only has an hour to live right now because of the atrocity of your mate…you have already caused so much damage because right now I cannot save her child but I can still save her if you let me out now” Vera was shocked by what the rugged-looking angel had said but she let her out nevertheless. The royal doctor ran straight to the chambers where the queen had been placed. Vera was still shocked by this action because she hadn’t told her about the chambers the queen was moved to. “I need an angel from the Prasinos family only they can get me what I need,” The woman said and she turned to one of the guards to bring the chief of the Prasinos family who was also imprisoned. With his help…they grow all the essential herbs and shrubs that were needed to save the dying queen. “Will she live?” The chief coughed out his question as he was already old and frail but refused to pledge allegiance to Vera so was imprisoned for it, they were hardly keeping on his failing health. “I can’t see it…I can’t see her future” Vera's face narrowed on hearing the woman’s answer. “Her light is going out…the imbalance has started” The woman spoke immediately looking at the rising sun that suddenly went dark. “If she dies, the entire realm will welcome darkness for days until the sole heir returned to the throne- “I am the heir” Vera thundered. “As long as the heir lives on the throne shall never accept you- “I will find Princess Angela and I will kill her” The woman laughed at her response. “She’s not the heir…you should fear her return. The sole heir to the throne…she will be your doom” The woman simply responded then concentrated on taking care of the queen. Vera was outraged by what she heard but she really couldn’t do anything. She just left and immediately raced for her mother’s room. Vera’s mother Hara was Kyrio’s real mate but they couldn’t be together because she was a demon and they tried to stay far away from each other but unfortunately failed in doing so. Hara become paralyzed after Vera turned 16 in an attempt to protect her daughter from the demons after her life…she had managed to keep Vera safe since she was very young as demons who knew about her have hunted them to take her crystal since she was also an angel, though her mind was a mess and only sit in a single position all day while staring out the window, she couldn’t speak and sometimes she would cry…Vera had no idea how her mother had turned out in such a way but she was willing to do everything to make her healthy again but anytime Vera was troubled about something she would always visit her to talk to her, even though she could not reply to her…her presence always manage to calm her troubled mind. “Mother” Vera called immediately she walked in to see Hara in her usual state, she had never shown any response for the past 7 years and Vera, of course, wasn’t expecting any immediately. “You taught me all I needed to know about the angels but as days pass by, I realize I know very little about them…including my complicated family tree…I had a sister mother, or that’s what I was told. I heard she was the heir to the throne…it has been for generations that only a true aqua angel can rule, I am my father’s daughter…I will avenge what they did to you by uniting the two realms…there will no longer be a demon and an angel realm, I shall unite the realm for you, mother…because of this diversity, you couldn’t even be with your mate. It will not be like that anymore, and I promise that I will burn down whatever it is that comes my way” Vera after releasing the load on her mind heaves a heavy sigh as she stared at her mother sadly. “The queen was poisoned mother, I think she will lose her baby because of me, but she did deserve it…after all, she could have saved herself the pain and tell me where my half-sister is…after all, it’s not like I have any plans to kill her, I just have to make her submit it…it’s the only way the angels will accept me as their queen but I cannot promise I would leave the real heir to the throne alive…I will-” The mentioning of the real heir to the throne gained a reaction from Hara, her hands started to tremble but her face was still looking out in one direction. “Mother, do you know anything about the real heir to the throne of Angel Bay?” Vera asked studying her mother’s expression and reaction closely. Hara seems to want to move, she seems to want to say something but she had no idea what it was her mother wanted to say. “Angelique” A voice came from the door and she immediately turned to her mate who stood by the door watching her. Her face immediately contoured into a deep frown realizing Claus have been defying her. “You poisoned the queen- “It was necessary- “Do not tell me what is necessary and what is not!” She bellowed with her eyes glowing blue as she moved closer to Claus but her attention instantly drifted back to her mother after she spoke. “Angelique” She mumbled before falling from her chair as she tremor overtook all her body making Vera run to her aid. “Mother” She half-screamed worried something bad had happened to her. ------------
