THE FORSAKEN ANGEL

Episode 42-Karl history

Vera decided to visit her mother for the first time in three days that she has been ignoring her because she had other matters to tend to. She felt guilty that she hadn't been consistent in making her take her medicine so she decided to see to it on that specific day. She met her mother smiling at the window; which was weird because for years now her expression had been blank and the only time she had reacted was when Princess Angelique’s name was mentioned close to her.

“Mother” Vera called softly and she slowly turned towards her making her jaw drop in awe.

“I can’t believe this” Vera gasped and run to hug her mother who was still struggling to talk.

“I guess the maids must have heed my warning and must have been feeding you your medicine, After such a long time mother, you are finally getting well” Vera heaved a heavy sigh of relief after which she enjoyed the embrace of her mother some minutes more before disengaging. Her mother seems to be trying to say something but nothing happened. Then she heard Claus voice from down the hallway.

“Claus must hear about this? He’ll be so happy” Vera smiled wanting to go out to inform her mate of her mothers response but clashed with Claus right on the way while he was trying to come in.

“Sorry” Claus apologized but she just smiled in reaction.

“i think mother is finally responding to treatments…she-” Vera turned to see her mother’s head hung low like before, her expression was blank and her eyes were still as she stared into nothingness.

“What?” Claus voiced wanting her to finish whatever it is she was saying.

“It was my imagination, I thought she was getting better when I found her smiling but she wasn’t smiling at all…just my thought, when is she going to” Vera sniffed feeling tears cloud her eyes, she wanted her mother to be well already but then…there hasn’t been any changes in her for years.

“Are you sure you’ve been giving her the medicine?” Claus asked but Vera afraid she would get scolded by her mate decided to lie to him.

“Yes, I always make sure she had it…Every time, usual time” Vera confidently responded wanting to sound as convincing as she could do and Claus believed her.

“Then you have nothing to worry about, it might take time but she will be fine…the philosopher and Onyxia is here…we have to go and honour their presence” Claus informed and Vera nodded and Claus led her out but not before giving Hara one last look.

Claus and Vera walked down the hallways that led to the royal halls. The arrival was heralded by one of Vera's assigned Monarch.

Immediately Vera walked into palace court, her eyes met with Onyx. Onyx appearance alone exalt consummate elegance, she was dressed in the finest silk dress known to be worn by Angel royalties, her hair was pinned up with gleaming green emerald that complimented the colour of her dress, she looked perfect. Her long fine nose sit under her small nose in such flawless way, she was really pretty for a woman of her age, she could see why her father had chose Onyxia.

“Your highness” Onyx displayed courtesy by displaying her gown while making a short bow.

"So I heard, you're one of my dad's wives...I don't see much in you" Vera voiced feeling envious of her beauty, she was just more beautiful than her age, more beautiful than her her who is in her youth.

"Vera, we need her in our side if we have to learn everything about the queen" Claus whispered realising Vera doesn't like Onyx that much.

"But I do see why my father would marry you-

"I'm not just a wife to your father but a mother to three of his children-

"Just how many children does my father has" Vera rolled her eyes realising her siblings might be a big problem for her.

"A lot, the queen has three living children but would be four soon" Vera's eyes lit, she took her place on the throne while Claus stood next to her.

"So, my father's first born is truly alive" Vera scoffed.

"Yes, but not entirely. I knew the princess was alive after she tried communicating with princess Angela when her powers was spiraling out of control. We were shocked back then when the queen hadn't grieved her daughter properly so it all explains it, the princess is not dead just sleeping and I'm certain she's wide awake now...the queen's powers is keeping her in a body, this particular secret is what my children found out that had the queen locked them away. I'll help you take down the queen and her children on the condition that you'll help me find my children and return them to me safely" Onyx moved closer to Vera on her throne studying her cold expression.

"I might actually consider what you ask an offer if you tell me about the other hybrid that existed" Vera gave her conditions and Onyx eyes met with Claus before he turned abruptly to Vera wondering what she was doing.

Onyx sighed and gave Vera a straight look for a couple of minutes before smiling, probably deciding what to do upon her request.

"You request the head warrior Karl?" Onyx narrowed her face as the queen shift uncomfortably in her seat.

"Yes, I want to know about him...then I'll help you save your kids while you help us take down the queen. So Karl...tell me about him?" Vera insisted and Onyx nodded.

"He was the princess mate, princess Angelique...in fact, the main reason while she was expelled from the city" Onyx enjoyed watching the flame of curiosity blaze in Vera's eyes, in fact her curiosity might be able to help her, she thought to herself.

“You know your father and the princess weren’t really lucky when it comes to choosing a mate, the divine gave them someone with a demon trait…and the princess was gifted with half demon” Onyx snickered but Vera looked offended rather than fuel her annoyance she decided to tell more of the story.

“It has been greatly forbidden for angel royalties to mate with demons afraid they would breed an abomination and this rule also applies to the demon royals, a royal demon was the first to break that rule I suppose but Karl’s mother left she came back to Angel Bay after giving him up to the demons. This are all just stories and rumors so I cannot assure you that all are true” Onyx informed before hand.

“Karl came back to find his mother when he was just five, a baby angel…he has pure white wings and retained his mothers abilities to control earth an it’s resources. He was more powerful than a normal angel from the Geo family, he was the grandson of the family chief, a little line of royalty still existed in him, I think his father was a prince…but I wasn’t sure. It was announced that a baby angel was discovered in the earth realm and she claimed to be looking for his mother. Looking for your family isn’t necessarily hard in Angel Bay, especially once you have powers that could be traced. They started looking for the kids mother among the Geo family but his mother had seen him and she couldn’t claim him but instead said she’ll take him in instead-

“Can you cut the story short?” Vera sounded bored by the facts and just wanted to get into the main story of how Karl had managed to control his powers.

“Well, there was nothing much about him, in fact no one knew he was a hybrid until his fusion-

“Fusion?” Vera narrowed her face at Onyx wondering what the terms means.

“When the two sides of the hybrid fuse to become a single entity, it’s when they fully become an hybrid…and I’m guessing you are undergoing fusion right now or already fused” Vera turned to Claus and they maintained eye contact for a brief minute.

“The queen said my body is choosing a side, that I was going to become a demon fully-

“What will now happened to your angel side? You think that’s just going to disappear?” Onyx scoffed.

“If one side could just disappear, princess Angelique might probably still be here because maybe, her mate would have chosen the angel side and extinguish his demon side” Onyx chuckled but she was surprised that Vera seems so serious about it.

“You’re really serious? If the queen said that she probably didn’t want you to know about it, because after you fuse you’ll be the most dangerous Angel in the whole of history, I mean you will no longer retain an identity of neither angel or demon or both, you will no longer be bind by the rules that bind normal angels, so I can see why she didn’t want you to have any knowledge of it” Onyx reasoned.

“But how am I supposed to fuse?” Vera questioned.

“I don’t know that, when the hybrid Karl fused, it was figured out because he accidentally killed an angel, and his wings remained intact, he was furious when one of the warriors had talked bad of Princess Angelique who he just found out was his mate, he rejected the princess countless times according to the rumors and princess had no idea why. He had to come clean when his venom was needed to help the dying angel, it had been the scratch from him that ended the angel’s life” Vera still looked back at Claus on hearing that. Not all demons possess poisonous claws, they were few and rare and Claus was one of the few demons too.

“But the thing is, not you nor Karl were the first hybrid in history…the history professor of angel BAy academy could tell you more about yourself since it pretty much sure you still haven't figure that out yet”Onyx concluded already tired of narrating but Vera wasn’t quite finished with her yet.

“Is Karl alive?” Vera questioned and Onyx frowned for a minute.

“I can’t be certain but what all angels knew was the queen killed him-

“He could be killed by angels?” Vera cut in sharply.

“Yes of course, he was no longer an angel entity but an entire entity of his own” The realization down on Vera, she could still be killed nevertheless.
