1888 Words
Vera was boiling in rage after what the queen did, her head was in jeopardy as the two side of her constantly fight and blame one another over the queen’s actions. Her mind was not really in a good state and her heart kept aching for no reason.   Her ears picked movement and she immediately turned towards the door as her mate moved into the now empty room of the queen, she had tears in her eyes as she suddenly felt the pain of losing again, she had promised herself she was never going to lose again after spending her entire life trying to make a life for herself. Claus opened his arms for fit in and she reluctantly walked into them.   “I think you should go check the dungeons, the queen intend to break her people out-   “She already did, I was going to come inform you but then I met her room empty I knew she was at work-   “How is that even possible? She could hardly use any of her abilities…had she been pretending all along?” Vera questioned in dilemma.   “It’s all my fault, I shouldn’t have poisoned her and made her lose her child…the child made her unable to use her powers…we didn’t realise that and then I took away the child and slowly she recovered her powers and then she broke loose” Claus apologised and Vera sighed.   “But you have nothing to worry about, every available exit out of the city have been sealed off..she can’t leave without getting past us first” Claus assured looking into Vera’s disturbed face but Vera sighed and moved out of his arms.   “None of your men is strong enough to hold her down, only I…can face her” Vera declared but then her eyes caught a massive explosion of light that shine so bright that any shadow angels nearby could have been disintegrated by it.   “Isn’t that the…ancient ground where they bury their dead-   “Yes, what is she doing there?” Vera hissed with a deep frown on her face but by the time she turned towards her mate she knew he had something to do about it.   “What is it this time Claus?” She questioned with brows arched in a quite serious steep.   “You know about this Claus so tell me right now!” Vera demanded and Claus sighed.   “I don’t think you’ll want to hear any of it…she’s going after the princess body-   “And why would she do that?” Vera questioned with her brows furrowed tighter but then Claus remained quiet because Vera wouldn’t welcome his claims anyway.   “Don’t worry I would just find out myself” Vera hissed before letting out her wings and leaping into the sky while Claus immediately turned to get some guards after her since she could get herself in danger.   Vera didn’t stop flying using her extra sharp eyes to scan the grounds that was now filled with litters of disintegrated demons…the queen must be serious about this…it made Vera even more furious and the more she get angry the more a strange pain in her heart hits but she ignored it and kept looking for the queen but she was nowhere to be found.   But before Vera continued her search she decided to confirm if the princess body was right where it was buried but no…the coffin was gone but she was still confused, was princess Angela really dead? If she was alive, why wasn’t she awake? Her thoughts went feral and her headache as questions bombarded her head, finally…Claus caught up to her.   “She took the body didn’t she?” Claus questioned.   “It was my fault this time; she manipulated me and made it hard for me to believe you-   “I think the princess is alive and well just not in her body, wherever she is she’s vulnerable. I think if we successfully find the host of her soul, we might have a higher chance of defeating her, killing princess Angelique is the only way to break them; it’s their last hope-   “The queen could have just finished me today when she had the chance” Vera muttered spitefully.   “They are waiting for something, and that thing I’m guessing is the real reason why they needed to wake the princess-   “The queen said something about embracing my true form. She’s waiting for me to become a full demon Claus…it’s the only way they can completely remove me” Vera spoke with a tinge of fear.   “But you can never be a complete demon; you’ll always be an angel-   “Not if I kill a person with a pure heart, that way I could unlock my demons potential but still get killed-   “You’re going to be vulnerable if you try, them not being able to lay their hands on you as a result of you still being an angel is a very good thing, don’t do the killing…leave that task to me, we need to your angelic powers Vera-   “I feel like I’m beginning to change Claus, look at me…I have horns now, my demon side is overshadowing my angel side…soon the rage and crave for chaos will cave in-   “Do you think it has a thing to do with the increase in the world chaos?” Claus asked getting closer to Vera who sighed and nodded.   “That must have been feeding it…right now is not the time though…I need to find the queen. We should be able to trace her-   “I catch a scent” Claus announced but frowned for a second realising it might be a set up to actually lure Vera and him after them.   “Really, where does it lead?” Vera questioned but Claus was reluctant to speak up.   “But why would they leave any scent behind, Vera they might be trying to distract us or something-   “But we can’t say for sure Claus, we can’t know if they left the scent by accident or on purpose-   “No, it cannot be by accident Vera, the queen is way too smart for that” Claus vouched.   “Don’t be so sure; now lead the way will you” Vera urged and Claus sighed recalling Vera always does as she wishes, she was pretty hard to convince, something that was always getting them into trouble.   “West” Claus muttered following the strange smell of blood, an angel blood exactly and after reaching the end of a river they figured they must have flown past it.   “Throw your hands around my neck” Vera urged and Claus did as she suggested but then she sharply inhaled on feeling their skin grazed.   “Is something wrong?” Claus questioned finding the reaction odd.   “Mating season is close” Vera replied while biting down on her lower lip while trying to control her sudden urges but then she let out a puff of breath before letting out her wings and leaping straight into the air; Claus and Vera maintained their glance as they soar high in the sky following the scent the queen had left of, Vera found it extremely hard to focus with Claus scent hitting her more due to his extremely close proximity.   “Are you okay?” Claus tried to ask over the gushing winds they flew past but Vera could hardly make out anything so he had to repeat his question, just a little louder.   “I would be, I need to get myself out of your arms as soon as I can before I’m forced to devour you here right now” The princess replied lasciviously and Claus smiled.   “Apparently, the demons mating season always start when the angel’s mating season is half-way through” Claus filled in.   “I know, I remember that was when we met” Vera smiled but then Claus’s brows furrowed.   “The scent got even stronger, we have to land, they are around here somewhere” Claus informed and Vera instantly dive for the ground earning a gasp from her mate as a result of her so sudden action., when they landed Claus immediately secure a spot to let out the contents of his belly as he suddenly felt air-sick.   “Yeah, I can feel them…they are pretty close” Vera let out wanting Claus to hurry with his business and he eventually stopped and follow suit, then they met the queen by a certain river, feeding the princess dragon, she seem to have changed, she was now in a long white dress and had jewelleries on her head, hand, clothes…she was looking extremely different. Vera decided to make a surprise attack stinging her with her stinger but she abruptly turned.   “You haven’t learnt anything have you?” The queen said with hands clasped into each other as she dropped it a little lower from a stomach.   “Of course I have-   “Then you should have known, I would see you coming…after all, I’m an angel of light” The queen reminded and Vera rolled her eyes, you don’t have to remind me” Vera scoffed giving the queen a mischievous look.     “And also, I’m too old for your tricks” The queen smiled while Vera struggled to impale her with a water spear she formed behind the queen but then something was stopping the water from obeying her; a stronger force than hers, could it-   “You know something, every step I took was calculated, I know you have the screaming ability…the ability to call and command every shadow demons to your command, you are also a royal demon so I know” The queen spoke softly and before Vera could think of doing just that, because that was her secret ability, that power made her different, it was the same power she had used to seize the palace in the first place.   “You have three different demonic powers that I’m certain of, the power generated from your line who was begotten by a wailing siren, so they call you screamers, then your second ability which came from demons begotten from a scorpion hybrid is your venomous poison which cure is almost not in existence, then your ability to control darkness…an ability that will always be locked inside you except you embrace your demonic side-   “I can’t move” Claus fretted.   “Yeah you can’t, I made a plan of my own…I’m sure you’ve met your step brother.  Sapphire say Hi to your step sister” Sapphire appeared right in front of Vera who kept struggling against the forces that repulse her from using her powers.   “You’ll only make it worse” Sapphire muttered controlling Claus to him.    “If we can’t kill her yet, why don’t we just kill him? That’ll break her?” Sapphire questioned her mother who was looking at Claus in quite a terrifying manner.   “Not yet” She finally say but sent a wave of light that cut of Claus’s fingers making him scream out in pain and agony.   “That’s for my daughter” Angelite frowned but Vera was outraged and successfully managed to scream. ---------
