02 - Charming Smile

Diana walked into the gym and locked it behind her. She cracked her buckle as she walked to the wolf staring at her. She pats his head gently with a smile as the wolf whines approvingly. Chuckling, she took a few steps back, tilted her head to the side as she said "Let's get started."

Standing face to face with a wolf 3 inches taller than her, she looked at him challengingly and said "Give me your best shot Damon. That's the only way I will ever be able to fave off wolves in human form confidently okay?" The wolf nodded, took a step back, and lunged at her at full speed.

Though she was taken by surprise, she fell to the floor and landed a punch on his stomach as he pounced on her, throwing him to the other side of the room. He fell on the floor and stood back immediately shaking off the pain in his stomach as they both attacked at full speed.

Damon grabbed her by the shoulder, letting his canines graze her skin before throwing her off him. She stood holding her shoulders as she attacked, this time around, she avoided forward confrontation as she went to his side, grabbed his leg, and threw him at the door, the impact shaking the whole room. He got up and charged forward, knowing she would aim for his stomach, he kicked her instead causing her to fall to the other side of the wall breaking a bone on impact.

Hearing the bone break, Damon gave control back to Jasper and shifted immediately.

He ran to her side and held her leg to see what broke. The bone around her knee had shifted awkwardly and it looks bad.

She held his hand and looked at him saying "Don't blame yourself, this and worse could happen if I fail to get stronger"

"That's nonsense, no werewolf in the right senses wolf face off a wolf in human form. It's impossible yet I went along with it" he said as he touched the knee making her hiss in pain

"That's why I love you, Jasper, you always have my back no matter how embarrassing or stupid or useless I am" she replied with a smile as her brows squeezed together.

Smiling back at her, Jasper leaned in and kissed her. She wrapped her arms around his neck, trying to get more of him when she screamed in pain tears flowing through her eyes like a river.

Jasper had used the kiss as a distraction to put her bone in place. "It should start healing now," he said as he stood up.

This was when Diana realized that he was naked so she turned her face in the other direction, face turned red like tomatoes.

Seeing her like this, Jasper smirked proudly as he picked up a trouser from the basket in the corner and put it on. As he turned to walk back to her, the door was kicked off of its hinges making it fly into the room barely missing Diana.

"Dude! You almost f*****g killed her!" Jasper furiously screamed at Stephan who ran into the room panicking.

Hearing what Jasper just said made him freeze in his tracks as he saw a shocked Diana sitting on the chair with her breath hitched in her throat.

He had run from his office when he heard her scream. He was scared something terrible had happened to her and from the smell of blood and the red stain on her t-shirt, he's right.

He walked up to her and kneeled before her, tearing open the t-shirt to see a deep teeth mark, clearly done by a wolf. He growled and turned to Jasper ready to go into protective Aloha bro mode when her palm landed on his face as she turned his face to newt hers.

"I'm fine. He was just doing as I asked Stephan"

"That is no excuse for him to be this reckless. I heard your scream from my office Diana, it's not fine".

His statement broke Jasper's heart, he knew he had gone too far when he heard the sound of her bone breaking. With his head hung low in respect to his Alpha, he walked out of the gym.

"That was not necessary Stephan, you are making him feel worse." She scolded

"He should" Stephan replied

"But I feel bad too, I forced him to let go and give me his best shot. It's more my fault than it is his" she said

Ignoring her last sentence, he pulled her up making her hiss in pain. He raised an eyebrow at her but she simply looked away.

"I want to go to my room," she said wrapping her arms around his neck.

He carried her up and took her to her room. "Dinner will be brought up to you so rest up." He said and left.

After dinner, she had her leg bandaged by Amelia, her brothers mate and after she left, she picked up her phone and texted Jasper.

DIANA - "You will be dropping me off at school right?"

JASPER - You need to heal, that level of damage takes a whole day for a wolf to heal so it may take longer for you.

DIANA - It won't, I just bandage it up. This is my last semester in high school so I'm not missing school tomorrow.

JASPER - Rest up, we can talk about it tomorrow.

DIANA - Promise?

JASPER - Yeah sure

DIANA - Ok, good night

JASPER - You too baby. Rest easy.

Diana smiled, placed her phone under her pillow as she imagined her life as Jaspers mate. That is all she could find herself thinking of every night before falling asleep.Slipping off into dream land, she saw flashes of a red haired man with a very charming smile.
