01 - You Will Thank Me

Sitting on the grass in the training field under the moonlight, Diana watched as others were beginning to shift. The screams and breaking bones scared the crap out of her but she's the Alpha's daughter and she is stronger than the pain. Excited, she began to picture herself as a wolf but nothing happened, she kept on trying and failing.

Looking around her, all she could see were hundreds of eyes looking at her and the newly shifted wolves surrounding her. They began to whisper and point their hands when her brother came and helped her up. Looking into his eyes, she could see the pity in them and it made her sadder. Unable to bear it anymore, she collapsed in his arms.

She's been training since she was 13 and she was the strongest of her peers so she definitely couldn't understand why she failed to shift.

When she woke up the next morning, the first person she saw was her boyfriend sleeping on the couch. She looked around the hospital room as the memories of the previous day came back to her and she began to cry.

Her cries alerted her boyfriend and he shot out of the bed looking around the room for any threats. When he found nothing, he sighed before walking to her bed, he sat on the bed and pulled her into his arms to console her.

"Daddy must be disappointed in me. (sniffle) He spent his evenings (sniff) sharpening up my skills getting me ready for the shift (whimpers) but I failed him" she said as she cried louder.

For the 6 months they've been together, this was Jaspers's 1st time seeing her like this and it broke his heart.

"They are not disappointed in you Princess".

"If they are not disappointed in me, why aren't they here then. I bet even Stephan can't bear to look at me."

"Your brother just has urgent Alpha duties to attend to and your parents are having a chat with the pack doctor"

Diana looked at the beautiful man who she was lucky to have as her boyfriend and all she could see was his sincerity.

The door opened up, showing her parents who walked in with the doctor. Jasper stood to give them space but Diana held his hand and shook her head as a no.

He nodded and went to stand by the door, giving a smile that he will be right here.

Mary walked to her daughter and hugged her tightly with tears streaming down her eyes. Diana let herself go again and the two cried loudly as if they were trying to see who would outcry the other.

Wiping her daughter's tears as they kept on coming out Mary said "It's okay baby, I'll be right here with you. Mommy is here okay, you will be fine I promise."

"I'm so sorry mom, am sorry" Diana sobbed harder. Looking at the two most precious ladies in his life crying so heart-wrenching, Jordan walked the Doctor out of the room knowing it would be better to put a pause at the hospital procedures.

He got her discharged and took her home where Stephen was waiting. On entering the packhouse, she could feel the eyes on her which made her cling to her mom for dear life.

When they got to the Alphas wing, they sat in the living room and began to explain what happened to her.

"So I have no wolf?" She asked tears streaming out of her eyes with full powers. What is a werewolf without their wolf? She thought as her world crumbled right before her eyes

"No honey, you do and we know that. You just need more time that's it" her mother reasoned.

"Yeah, you are the strongest pup I know sis" Stephan complimented but that felt like nothing to her everything they were saying felt empty to her.

Everything that has happened has proven that she was worthless and useless with absolutely nothing to offer.

This made her feel empty like she was nothing with nothing about her and destined to live with this empty feeling.

2 years later, Diana has grown into a very beautiful woman. She may not be a wolf but she was without a doubt the most beautiful girl in Crescent Moon Park. Her beauty got her many admirers and also lots of haters but that means nothing to her. As the only one without a wolf, she has to make sure to not be a burden to everyone and that means being strong.

As she walked out of her bathroom wearing a towel, she found her mom filling up her wardrobe with new clothes as the omega's moved her old clothes out of the room.

"What are you doing?" She asked missed by how discreet her mom was trying to be.

"Giving my baby's closet a makeover. The clothes here really suck so I want them gone" Mary answered as she kept on doing what she was doing.

"Suit yourself" Diana replied as she reached out for her workout clothes but couldn't find them on her bed.

"Where are my workout clothes?" She asked her initial amusement gone as anxiety took over.

Mary shook her head wondering how the t-shirt and leggings turned into workout clothes. She picked a set from the new clothes and threw it to her.

Diana looked at the sports bra and shorts in her hands stupified. "You want me to wear this?" She asked folding her hands in front of her.

"Isn't that what girls your age wear? Baby you've got to start dressing up again, you will soon turn 18 and find your mate and I wouldn't want you looking like crap." Her mother replied in her Luna's voice sending chills down her daughter's spine.

"You know I train with a wolfless male right?" She asked trying to pull the mom-daughter card.

"That's exactly why you should wear that. For all we know, he may be your mate." She replied eyes getting dreamy as she looked up to the ceiling and continued "Imagine when you turn 18 next month wearing one of the outfits I got you looking as sexy as I did in my own time. I'm sure your mate will be smitten at your sight, his possessive instinct kicking in as he takes you far away from prying eyes. Oh, wouldn't that be awesome?" She asked looking at her daughter like a lovesick puppy.

Diana shook her head as she walked out of the door wearing the workout outfit with a t-shirt on the sports bra.

"Don't worry love, you will thank me when you meet your mate" Mary said still smiling from her imagination as she arranged her daughter's clothes.
