Welcome Home

SASHA "Welcome to your new home." Deputy Jeff said as he opened the door of this two-storey house. I step inside to admire it. "M-my new home?" I look around. I’ve never had my own home so this feels so unreal. “Yup. All yours. And if you need anything, you just let us know.” He added. The back of my house looks like a forest and I can hear running water nearby although it doesn't feel scary. I actually feel safe knowing there are animals surrounding me and not people. I am now more aware of the fact that humans hurt more than animals do. That a friend's bite is more fatal than a snake's venom. "So, I know you came all the way from a very far away land so I'll leave you to rest. I'll ask my wife to come and help you unpack your things–" "Oh, no. That won't be necessary!" I said. "I don't want to bother her." "Don't worry about Joey, she would love to help you and she'll spank my ass if I don't tell her about you." Deputy Jeff winked and then he chuckled. His eyes sparkled while talking about his wife. "She's a wonderful person. I can already tell." "Oh, she is. And she'll be happy to finally meet you." "Finally meet me?" They are waiting for me? "Well yes. As you already know, everyone in Crescent falls is here via invitation and it's been a while since the higher-ups send an invite so Joey is excited to meet new people." Deputy went beside me and patted my shoulder. "She'll like you." His comments made me blush. But speaking of invitations... "What are the qualifications? I mean I don't know… I have had that letter for so long that I took it for granted. I honestly came here on impulse but I didn't really think about anything yet. I don't have any plans. What am I going to do here, how about rent and bills and my basic necessities," I remember I didn't even buy food, and the money I withdrew last night won't last long. Hell, it won’t even last a week if I'm going to pay now for the rent. "What are my qualifications when I don't know what I'm going to do here?" "Don't worry about rent and bills. Crescent Falls is self-reliant and self-sufficient. This house is already in the process of being transferred to your name as we speak. And as for the bills, you can start paying once you realize what you want to do and you start working." My head is getting cloudy. There's just too much information that I need to process. Is there even a place like this? Free accommodation? A month's salary is worth my apartment rent back in Talavera. "Ummm…" "And as for your qualifications, you tell me. Why are you here?" Deputy Jeff looks at me as if he's waiting for my answer. As if I already knew why I received an invitation. "A-arden brought me here. He said this is where I should be." I said. I don't know how to answer his question. What are my qualifications? I'm just a normal assistant librarian with long red hair. I'm pretty sure that's not a qualification and Crescent Falls won't benefit from it. Unless they wanted redhead babies here. "Arden?" Deputy Jeff raised an eyebrow. He doesn't know Arden? "Oh… I thought you knew him since you looked like you knew each other." I mentally slapped myself. I was so confident mentioning his name that I thought he was from around here. "The… the guy with me." "Ohh… That Arden," Deputy Jeff nodded. "He left already." "Oh… But I haven't paid him yet." I exclaimed. "Don't worry about that. Arden doesn't take money especially when he's bringing people here–" "Hey, Jeff, what's taking so long?" Deputy Jeff and I looked back and saw Sheriff Denver leaning against the doorframe. How did he come here that fast? "I was just talking to Sasha. I told her Joey can stop by later to help her unpack her stuff." Deputy Jeff shrugged. "She said there's no need for that–" "I mean, I can do it on my own. It's not like I brought a lot of things with me." I am really shy. And I don’t know what's going on. They're really good people, I can already tell. But I'm also not a good judge of character and my instinct were also messed up so I cannot rely on my feelings just yet. "That's good. You can finish unpacking faster and then you can come with her to the saloon and meet your neighbors." "But--" "My wife does not accept no for an answer." Sheriff Denver said with a smile. But wait a minute? "Wife?" I asked. Isn't this Joey, Deputy Jeff's wife? "Yup. She's our wife." Denver said. He must have seen the look of confusion written all over my face. "You didn't tell her about it, Jeff?" Denver asked Jeff. "I was about to tell her, but you came so it slipped on my mind." I look at him and he is smiling sheepishly. Like Jeff did it on purpose. "Anyway, does it bother you, Sasha?" "Oh no. Not at all!" In fact, I am jealous. Whoever this Joey is, she sure is lucky. She's got two guys loving her. One with hazel brown eyes while the other one has blue. They're both handsome and well-built. With muscles to die for. And here I am getting cheated on by an average looking man. "If that's the case, let's leave Sasha and we should get back to work." Sheriff Denver winked at me and I felt giddy inside. This is wrong. I don't get attracted to anyone this easily. Especially if there's a wife involved. "Are you sure this is not a cult and you're not going to offer me as a sacrifice to the underlord and eat me later just because I am a virgin?" I asked. Because I've seen this before, and it didn't end well. "Relax. We're not going to sacrifice you. But I think we need to reconsider eating you." A cold, chilling voice behind Sheriff Denver said. --ALEC-- I felt so restless last night that I was not able to sleep. I kept on tossing and turning and my wolf kept on groaning, that scent kept me awake all night. And what's worse is that I don't know where it is coming from. When my Dad said the all-seeing brought a new girl earlier this morning, he got more anxious than last night that he wanted to take over. I managed to calm him down by saying we don't want to scare our mate. Our mate. Finally, I've been waiting for her since the first day I transform. The thought of seeing our mate for the first time after waiting for so long gave me all sorts of emotions. "I should come with you guys," Joey said. Like me, she wanted to see Sasha too. We don't know who she is or what she looks like or what kind of creature she is. The all-seeing didn't elaborate on her ancestry so we don't know much about her. That's what piqued my interest more. If she's my mate, I should know more about her. "Guys, let's take it easy, shall we. At this point we'll scare her to death." Denver said jokingly. Why can't he understand me? I wanted to see my mate. I wanted to introduce myself to her. I wanted to tell her about her fate. She's mine. "Dad, she's my mate. I'm not allowed to see her first?" I asked. This is insane. "I know. But she's a human, Alec. She doesn't know anything about us. And it is better for her if we keep it that way." Denver stood up and walked beside me. "I know you wanted to see her and claim her already but you should give her some time and space. Just because you want doesn't mean she must want you too." I raised an eyebrow and Denver nodded on Craig's way. He looks like a lost puppy. I suddenly remembered the conversation I had with Craig last night about my mate being his mate too. And then there's Vladimir who kept on sniffing last night trying to figure out where the scent is coming from. "Is it really possible?" "To have more than one mate? Your Mom has two. What's your excuse?" Denver asked. "I realize I can share her with Craig if that's what she wants. But to share her with that bloodsucker too? There is no fuckng way that I'll allow that." "Son, it's not for you to decide." Joey smiled and walked beside me too. Craig's dad took Sasha to her new home and I cannot wait to come, too. I needed to convince her to avoid Vladimir because he is dangerous. "You two should go. I'll visit her as soon as I'm done making this casserole. I'll bring Craig with me." I don't need another word of encouragement from Joey. I took off as soon as she said we should leave. I wanted to run. Running on my wolf's form is the fastest way to go to Sasha's house but it also means she'll see me naked. I don't want to scare her on our first meeting. "Get in. I'll take you there." Denver said. I immediately opened the car door and stepped inside. I am getting impatient but I'm still trying to act cool. Denver started the car and we took off. I tried reenactment scenes inside my head on how I'm going to introduce myself to Sasha. Sasha. What a lovely name. She'll take me as her mate. I will make sure of that. I'll convince her to take me and Craig as her husbands. "You're nervous. I haven't seen that in a long time." Denver chuckled beside me. "Don't worry, I understand. It’s a been there, done that situation.” “You know, I still don’t know how you manage to do it.” I’ve always been curious about how he and Jeff managed to do it. What about jealousy? The mere thought of having another pair of hands touching her voluptuous body is enough to put me on edge. “The what?” He looks at me and then on the road “The jealousy?” I nodded. Of course, growing up, I’ve seen him looking at Jeff like he’s about to kill him. And knowing how hot-headed Denver is, it is more surprising that he didn't kill him. “When you finally realize that your mate's happiness is more important than your ego, you'll learn to share. It was not easy at first, especially with s*x. I can feel my balls clashing and touching Jeff’s balls–” “For f***s sake, that's gross!” I exclaimed. “I don’t need that image in my mind.” Denver is laughing at my expense. He knew that this was going to be my reaction. “My son, since when did s*x become gross?” He asked me. “Since you started telling me about Uncle Jeff’s balls touching yours.” My head hurts. Now every time I close my eyes, that image is all I can see. “I might have nightmares after this.” I heard him laughing. “But on a serious note, once you see that look of satisfaction and happiness on her face, you’ll do anything to keep it.” Denver stopped in front of a newly renovated bungalow. “We're here.” He said before removing his seatbelt. If I knew this is where my mate will stay, I’d put more protection here. And a bigger backyard fence, where our kids can run free. Of course, they can run in the forest behind her house, but only if I’m with them. “Keep it cool, Alec.” Denver said before slamming the door on my face. Keep my cool? I’m always cool. After checking myself in the rearview mirror– which I don’t normally do, I stepped out of the truck. Denver is already standing at the doorway blocking my view. I can smell her. She smells so f*****g good from afar I wanna know what she smells like when she’s writhing, sweating and moaning my name underneath me, crazy with so much pleasure. My c**k immediately hardened at that thought. I wanted to run, to go beast on her. But I remember what Denver told me a while ago. ‘Keep it cool.’ Maybe he knows what seeing your mate for the first time feels like. I’m sure I’m not the only one who reacts this way. I walk slowly. I took a deep breath too. I didn't know I was holding my breath until I reached the front porch of the house. "Are you sure this is not a cult and you're not going to offer me as a sacrifice to the underlord and eat me later just because I am a virgin?" I heard a sweet voice asking. Her voice is making me crazy that I wanted to run and hug her. 'She's a virgin. She's a f*****g virgin!' That means she's waiting for me too. And that's what made me want her more. 'Keep it cool. Keep it cool." I wanted to say something cool. I intend to make a good first impression. A simple introduction. But instead, a foul word escaped my mouth. "Relax. We're not going to sacrifice you. But I think we need to reconsider eating you." I said. The idea of eating her is appealing but it's clearly not needed. I can smell her fear. And fear is something I don't want to give her. "Ah, Alec. You're here." Uncle Jeff broke the awkward silence. "Sasha, this is Alec, our son. He is the Alpha– I mean, if there's anything you need you can tell him too." But I don't think there is something she wants me to do. She's still scared of me. And now I don't know how to approach her anymore.
