My mate despises me

1071 Words
~LENNY~ My skin burns as I dance with Milly, my hands around her waist. It feels like someone is staring at me, with a scorching intensity. "Hey, are you okay?" Milly asks, looking at me with concern. "Y..yh." I stammer. "So...what school does Lyca attend?" I ask, trying to divert my attention from the feeling of being watched. "Oh, no. You have to ask her yourself." She says, moving to the rythym of the slow song playing. "And when will that be?" "The whole pack is going for a run tomorrow so maybe after the pack run, the three of us can go and get burgers from Burger King, and then talk there." She suggests. "You are actually very wise." I smirk. "Oh please, you have not seen anything yet." She says. She places her head on my chest as we continue with the slow dance. Milly is like that, hard and strong on the surface but very soft. Being with her demands that you are attentive and sensitive. I wonder who her mate will be. He or she is in for a rollercoster of emotions. Oh, I will give anything to be a fly on the wall when they have their first fight as a couple. "C..can you excuse me?" I ask her, then head towards the washroom after she lets me go. I can still feel the person's eyes on me. Who is that anyway? I enter the males only washroom with the hairs on my neck standing and my nerves on fire. I cup some water from the sink and wash my face, trying to drown my nerves. I was so lost in my mind that I did not see or sense someone come behind me and cover my eyes with their hands. "W..who a..are you what do you want?" I whisper, just before the strong scent of cinnamon invades my nose and my skin tingles with sparks. An unrestrained moan leaves my throat. My wolf starts growling the word mate, making me go rigid upon the realization. My mate. God, I love that smell. "You are my mate aren't you?" I ask in a whisper, but receive no reply, his palm only tightening on my eyes as if he does not want me to see his face, as if he does not want me to know him. The thought makes my wolf whimper and withdraw at the back of my mind. "There is no reason for you to see me." His voice is so deep. It sends tingles down my spine. But it does not sound like his own voice. It is as if he is straining his voice, so as to hide it from me. "I am not a fool. Why are you straining your voice?" I ask getting annoyed. "You are anything but a fool..Lenny." he says. He knows me. My heart beats faster. So he knows who I am, then I am sure I also know who he is. "How do you know me?" I ask, my voice surprisingly calm. "There is no need for you to know that too." He says and turns me to face him, his hand still on my eyes, his body pressed against mine, his prominent bulge pressing delightfully against mine. "If you do not want to see me, then why did you even come to find me?" I ask, getting annoyed and suspicious. "Who even said I want you for a mate?" He says, his voice dripping with disgust. "Then what the f**k do you want." I growl out. It does not matter if he is my mate or not. I can not force him to want me. I will not stoop that low, I will not beg for anyone to accept me if they do not want to. "What do you wa.." my words are muffled by his lips. Sparks igniting on my skin. His tongue breaks past the barriers of my lips. I can taste the anger in his kiss, the disgust in every swipe of his tongue against mine is undeniably but it does not stop me from responding to his kiss. The mate bond clouds my mind, making me unreasonable. He pulls away from the kiss leaving me breathless, and panting. "If it were not for the bond, I would not even be here." He whispers against my lips. Disdain etched in his tone. "Why? I have not done anything to you. I just met you and I do not even know your f*****g face." I grit out. I do not even try to pry his hand off my eyes because I know from his build up that he is stronger than me. "Close your eyes. Don't dare open them." He commands, and I am helpless to resist it. So I do as told and feel his palm leave my face and then...his presence just vanishes. I open my eyes and see nothing, heaving a breath I was unknowingly holding. Needing some fresh air, I step out the hall and into the back yard garden, then take a seat on the available bench. I knew I would meet my mate but not like this. I did not think he will resent me like this. That he would feel such hatred for me. I did nothing wrong. "Hey." Leo says coming to sit beside me. "Hi." "What are you doing here anyway? Are you not supposed to be inside?" "Nah, I do not feel like it. What are you doing here though? No coven was invited." I ask instead. Wolves move in packs and vampires in covens. "I came for a run. You were looking so gloomy so came to sit by you." He says smiling my way, causing a smile to grace my lips too. I do not know why but having him near me lifts my spirit. "Oh okay." He whispers, after which a peaceful silence surrounds us like a dome. "Is it okay for a mate to despise the other when they meet for the first time for no reason?" I ask, the relaxed state I am in now makes me spill the beans. "It is not supposed to be that way." He says, but does not ask for any explanation or reason why I am asking about this and I am grateful. I am not sure I am ready to tell anyone about this.
