His grip on my hand made me almost pass out. His strong manly scent was driving me crazy and my stupid wolf was getting excited. I had thought she would forget about him after years but turns out the mate bond couldn't be broken by just words.

His stares made me weak in the knee and for a second I forgot how to breathe. His grip was so strong that it hurt, but at the same time, I loved the proximity we shared.

“I... I... So... Sorry" I begged, but the stern look on his face didn't change. It was so weird that I was now afraid of someone that used to be my favorite.

“Now listen" he began in a deep husky voice. “The next time, you barge into my room, I'd make you replace whatever w***e I have brought in that day,” he said coldly and I started nodding incessantly. "Did I make myself clear!” he roared at me.

“Y... Yes," I said with my eyes shut.

He let go of my hands. “Now get out," he said.

I turned to the door immediately, but before I had the chance to leave the room, I remember I hadn't fulfilled what I came for. I halted once again, preparing myself to say what I was about to. “Alpha" I turned to look at him once more.

I swallowed hard because his body was in full view. His perfect abs and perfect height. God this man was flawless. He had grown more irresistible than he was when I was still in the pack.

Before speaking, I tucked my curly hair behind my ear, hoping he would remember this face because he acted as though he had never met me in his life. “I came here for a purpose," I said as I watched him grab a wine from his wine stand. “I am Anne" my voice shook when I said that. “The girl you save from the wood__"

He cut me short with a chuckle. “ I would never save an omega, you need to get your facts straight"

“I'm sorry" I bowed my head in defeat. “I came to plead with you to let me stay in your pack," I said with my head down. I was done trying to make him see me as Anne, his one-time best friend. I concluded he had a memory loss because it felt like this was just the second time we were seeing each other.

“Anne from the moonlight pack. The clumsy omega" he mocked.

“I don't want to go back there. I want to stay here"

He chuckled. “Oh really"

“I don't have anywhere else to go" I added

I swallowed hard when I watched him drop the glass on the counter and he started walking towards me. I tried to keep a straight face when in a real sense I was dying on the inside and once again, my wolf was active.

He stopped in front of me. “The audacity" he spat out firmly.

“I'm sorry," I said again with a shaky voice.

“Don't you even start" he snapped at me and I sealed my lips.

He looked at me from up to down and then he smirked. “You think you would survive here or it would be better than your life in moonlight?"

“Yes," I nodded.

“Showing is better than telling isn't it?" He asked. And even though I didn't know where he was driving, I nodded my head. “If I tell you your life here would be way worse, you won't believe it, so I want you to see for yourself." He said and my heart leaped for joy because I knew he was going to let me stay. "Now don't get your hopes up, this might be the only worse decision you've ever made in your omega life” he paused. “I do hope to take away that audacity you had when you walked into my room like that. Now leave" he commanded in a fierce tone

I wanted to do as he asked, but then I decided to try out something. I knew who he was, but I wanted to know if he indeed knew who I was. “Lucas" my lips trembled when I said that. I noticed how he froze on hearing that.

The rage in his eyes, as he turned to look at me, couldn't be ignored. He stormed towards me and before I knew what was happening, I was pinned to the wall by his strong hand around my neck. “you won't dare call an Alpha by his name, omega!" He snarled at me with so much rage that I shuddered.

“I'm sorry, I didn't mean to. Please forgive me" I begged. “Please" I continued when his grip got even stronger. As I looked into his eyes, I realize this wasn't the Lucas I knew, but a different man who didn't have any regard for me.

I could hear my heartbeat as I stared at him. I was pretty sure if he was attentive enough, he would be able to hear it too. It seemed the way I stared him made him more mad. “And you will look down anytime I speak to you. You are nothing, but an object. You have no say as long as you are still still in this pack" he shook his head. “You'd only be doing yourself a favor if you leave now" he let out coldly

I didn't know where I got that notion from that he would never be able to hurt me even when he had me pinned to the wall with his strong hands

I twisted my neck from side to side as I walked back into the staff quarters. I was pretty sure my neck was red due to how hard he held them without mercy. I reported back to Yvonne's office because that was where she said I should go immediately after I got back from the Alpha.

I knocked and only got in when I heard a faint ‘come in’

The moment I did and she set her eyes on me, they widened. “My God, what happened?"

My hair was messy like I had gone into a fight and she probably saw the marking on my neck.

“I tripped" I replied faintly.

“On your neck?" she asked staring at me intently because she already knew I was lying.

to divert her attention, I changed the topic. “I got in"

Her orbs further widened. “He accepted you?"

With a threat yes. “Yes, he did" I forced a smile on my face.

“Wow good then, let's get you somewhere" She took a file from her drawer and scanned through it.

“Miranda has fired weeks ago, so you'd take her position as that is the only position available for now, but your pay would be lesser since you are new"

My heart leaped for joy when I heard that. I was never paid in moonlight pack because it was almost as though I was repaying them the favor of letting me stay in their pack house.

“What would I be doing ma'am?" I asked with a huge smile on her face.

"You would be the personal maid to Alpha Lucas” she blurted out and my smile dropped instantly,.
