Episode 7 - The Charity Gala

we all woke up bright and early the next morning and headed in to town, Jaxon wasn't picking me up until 7pm but a woman always had a lot of preparation to do, well apparently I never did all of that which is probably why Bruno dumped me like he did, Franny had a friend who owned a bridal store Mia Elizabeth's Bridal Boutique and formal wear, where they sold bridesmaids dresses, prom dresses, formal dresses, mother of the bride, menswear whatever you needed they sold, Franny had called in a favor and asked her friend Mia if she could fit us in to try dresses on, she happily said we could come down, I was so excited but so nervous all at the same time, I wasn't like my friends thin and beautiful, I had padding, then again was I just over thinking it? we all got into a taxi and were dropped off outside, the Bridal Boutique, we walked in, "Franny, sweetie it's so good to see you" Mia Elizabeth said as she greeted Franny, "oh Mia it's so good to see you to" she said

"so what can I help you with today?" Mia asked

Franny stepped towards me linked my arm and said "we are here to find my beautiful friend Nova here a dress for a charity gala and it has to say confident and sexy all in one, she said Mia smiled at me "well ladies follow me and we will make sure cinderella goes to the ball" she said winking at me, I giggled and we all walked up to the second floor it was a huge space dresses framed the walls, a huge mirror and podium stood in the middle of the room, with sofas sat in a semi circle in front of them, it was beautiful, "ok so Nova do you have any ideas of what your looking for?" she asked me "sorry I don't, I don't do dresses usually, I want something that doesn't have my breast near enough to my chin, (the girls giggled at me) and I don't want something that makes me look like sausage meat in a skin" I said looking at her, "ok that's a good start I know exactly what you mean, well if you take a look around and pick a couple of dresses out with Franny and the girls and I will rgo and get the refreshments then when I come back you can hit the runway" she said smiling at me, "ok thank you so much" I said

she began to walk off the girls had already begun to look for dresses picking out some they thought would suit me, most of them were corsets which I was apprehensive about, my bra size was a 36 DD so the girls needed support but not too much, each of the girls picked a dress for me, Franny picked a red satin dress with a corset, it had beautiful crystals on the top of it, Emma picked a navy dress with straps it was short in length and again it was a corset back, Sarah picked me a asymmetrical dress in bright yellow with a sweet heart neck line and Emily picked me a strappy sweetheart neck line, short no corset back but I just wanted something different, "Nova I have a dress that I want you to try on if your up for it" Mia said I walked back into the dressing room after trying Emily's dress on, Mia helped me take it off, "right huni this is the dress I was talking about" she said as she un zipped the bag it was in and hung it up on the hook, "oh my god Mia that's beautiful, it's stunning, but I couldn't wear that" I said "why not? Nova honey who ever made you think you weren't good enough wants a huge slap sweetie you are perfect, so you've got extra padding, so have I and you deserve to feel beautiful and sexy and in this dress you will, just try it on and I promise you won't be disappointed" Mia said I smiled at her, she helped me into the dress and I had to take my bra off for it, it was a deep V neckline with spaghetti straps, it clung to my curves in all the right places, and held the girls in firmly, the dress was black lace with diamante details and had a low back that stopped before my tail bone, my favourite part was the slit in the skirt that went from the top of my thigh to the bottom showing my left leg off with a small train, which was perfect to show off my tattoos I had a full leg tattoo which was all in black and white, white roses and hydrangea flowers cascaded down to my foot from my hip, the tattoo I had on my arms, back and shoulders were so pretty and the dress showed them off perfectly, I had stars and butterflies that flowed from my behind my ear wrapped around my right shoulder curved around my arm and finished at my wrist, in the middle of my back I had mandala that started at the back of my neck and move down my spine and came to a halt before the bottom of the low back, it was perfect, "girls close your eyes" Mia said when she walked out of the dressing room, she gave me the signal to Come out and I stood on the podium facing them all "ok girls open your eyes, they all looked shocked and all gasped as I stood in front of them, "so what do you think?" I asked all of them were speechless, Mia and I looked at each other and giggled "I guess you found your dress if I leaves these girls speechless it will leave him on his knees" she said I looked back at the girls and not one of them spoke they just kept looking at me, I couldn't stop laughing "Mia ill take it I've never made any of these speechless before and I'm kinda liking it" I said "good girl let's get it packaged up huni" she said i took the dress off got changed back into my clothes, when I came back out the girls had finally came out of their trance, "Nova" Emily said

"yeah" I replied

"you should never think bad of yourself again you are stunning, I wish I had a figure like yours" she said I smiled and gave her a hug, "thanks em" I said "Bruno really did a number on me" I said

"yeah well that loser will never hurt you again he's gone for good" Franny said

"Come on girls the days not over we've got pampering to do" Sarah said I walked down to the till desk, "there you go Nova all sorted" Mia said

"but I haven't paid for it Mia" I said

"it's a gift from me to you" she said

"oh I couldn't Mia please let me pay for it" I said

"no I insist huni that dress was made for you now go enjoy yourself and make sure you don't let anyone pull you down keep that head held high" she said

"thank you" I said I teared up and gave her a hug, we left the Boutique and caught a taxi to my flat, as soon as we got in, the girls were ready and waiting for me, I went and got in the shower, refreshed myself everywhere I needed aswell as shave, I wore a pair of black lace panties to match the dress, I wrapped myself in my silk dressing gown and let the girls work their magic, my hair was hanging in curls down my back, it had been side sweeped to the right of my head Sarah ran gel through it and back combed the top a little so it had a little height on it, Emily did my make up, Franny and Emma treated me to a pedicure and painted my toes, we spent the whole day just being together it was amazing, it was 6.30pm I was finally ready I just needed to put my dress and heels on, 6.45pm the intercom bell rang, I was still in my room putting the last finishing touches to my outfit, like my money, keys and phone in my bag, "someone answer the intercom for me please" I shouted through I looked in the mirror one last time took a deep breath, then Sarah came into the room, "Nova babe he's here..." she stopped what she was saying to look at me "aww sweetie you look stunning" she said "thank Sarah thank you so much for everything you've all done today its been amazing" I said

"aww huni you never have to thank us we will always been here for you no matter what... now come on shoulders back, smile and knock his socks off" she said Sarah walked out, I was so nervous I walked out and down the corridor when I turned the corner, there he was standing in the door way waiting for me, "hi sorry I kept you waiting" I said as I walked towards the door, he couldn't stop looking at me, I held my dress up together so he hadn't seen the full outfit yet "you were worth the wait" he said all the girls we stood together smiling excitedly, I smiled "shall we go?" he asked "sure" I said he lifted his arm out for me to link it, I held my dress up still and linked his arm, "BYE GIRLS" I shouted "BYE BABE" they shouted as the door closed, Jaxon was so attentive he held my hand as we decended the stairs, when we got outside there was a beautiful black stretch limo waiting for us, "oh wow" I said

"what?" he asked

"a limo, I've never been in one" I said

"well my lady you are riding in style tonight" he said as he opened the door for me, I got in and slide across to the other side, my left leg was on show no I had let my dress go, I was looking orpund the Limo, when Jaxon joined me, he spoke to the driver checked his phone then finally turned his attention to me, "so ..." he stopped speaking I turned to look at him, he was staring at my leg I quickly covered it over and "sorry" I said "what for?" he asked

"this dress is a little revealing I could go change if its not the right kind of dress for where we are going?" I suggested

"Nova you look stunning you'll blow everyone away and give a lot of people lots to talk about but if you go and change and cover yourself up anymore you'll be breaking my heart" he said I had no idea what to say I smiled at him and blushed a little, I let my head drop down, he gently touched my chin with his and lifted my head up to look at him, "keep that head up little one" he said I smiled at him, the car set off to our destination, "so where is the gala at tonight?" I asked

"at the Halston" he said

"oh wow fancy" I said and I giggled,

"it is but you'll fit right in" he said as he squeezed my hand and smiled,

we finally pulled up at the Halston, the driver opened the door, Jaxon got out there was a red carpet on the ground that led to the door with photographers and crowds on either side, I hadnt realised it was this special, my heart began to race, I felt myself begin to panic, I slid over to the open door Jaxon held his hand out, "your safe" he said and that was all I needed to hear, I took hold of his hand stood up out of the car, Jaxon held my hand tightly, he escorted me to the door, we had our pictures taken my dress hung just as it should, I felt amazing and I remembered what the girls said to me be confident, we were greeted by a steward, "sorry about that" he said

"it's ok" I said

"come on let's go to our table, we are sitting with my friends" he said he escorted me slowly through the crowded room, towards our table, grabbing two champagne flutes from a tray carried my a maid, he handed me a glass then took hold of my hand again, as we got closer to the table I noticed there was only one woman and the rest were men, "hey here he is the host" one mam said, oh my gosh he's the host why would he be late for me, "my date was worth being late for" he said as he moved to the side to introduce me to everyone, I felt so uncomfortable, while they were all eyeing me up, "no boys enough she's a beautiful woman not a goldfish" the woman said

"Nova this is Carrie, and her soon to be ex husband William" he said Carrie stood up and gave me a hug, I hugged her back, "it's lovely to meet you both" I replied

"come and sit next to me Nova us girls need to stick together" carrie said I sat down next to her, "Nova this is Noel Graham, Thomas carruthers and Jason Thomas," Jaxon said as he stood next to me, "what drink would you like?" he asked me, "pint of dark fruits cider if that's ok" he said smiling at me, "she a girl after my own heart" Carrie said I looked between them both, smiling like looney at me "what did I do?" I asked

"you just made it possible for me to have a pint to" carrie said laughing, Jaxon walked off to the bar "I'll help you" Noel said following him, "oh there's Lee" carrie said Lee walked around the table facing me and carrie, "sorry I'm late everyone" he said looking at me, "Nova?" Lee asked I smiled at him, "you look... wow... you look ...different" he said "thanks" I said laughing at his reaction, he came round to me and gave me a cuddle and a kiss on the cheek, "you look beautiful" he said "nice of you to join us Lee mate" Jaxon said behind him "how could I miss it?" he said smiling at him, Lee sat in the seat next to Jaxon, but there was still 4 seats left, I never thought anything of then, until they carrie said "oh great Bruno and the stick insect are here, as soon as I heard his name I froze up, I turned to look in their direction Bruno was here with his new fling but so we're his parents my glance shot towards Lee and Jaxon and they both instantly looked at me, they knew he would be here tonight, Jaxon knew what had gone on between us, oh my god this was all a joke, before Bruno and his guests got to the table I stood up, "excuse me, i just need to powder my nose" I said to carrie, she knew there was something wrong but I needed to get out of there I didn't want to face him or his parents right now, I walked towards the ladies toilets, I locked myself in a toilet cubicle and sat on the lid, after a few moment I heard a very small knock at the door, "Nova sweetie it's me, Carrie" she said I opened the door, "are you ok?" she asked, "yeah am ok" I said

"Jaxon and Lee told me why you walked away, so you and Bruno huh?" she said

"yeah, I'm not actually bothered that he dumped me he was an arse hole but it's what he said to me and how I let him make me feel like I'm not good enough, I'm just a joke" I said

"no your not sweetie, at all you mean something to Jaxon you can see it all over his face, he hasn't taken his eyes off you and you've only been here 20 minutes" she said I smiled "do you really think so" I asked "yes I do come on you are a stunner tonight walk out there with me tattoos on show, drink a few more pints with me and enjoy your time, ignore Mr and Mrs Barbie and if they find it awkward tell them to stuff it" she said smiling at me, "ok lets go" I said holding my arm out for her to link me, we walked out of the bathroom, we stopped before we turned into the ball room, "right ill go first, strut your stuff sexy ass" she said I giggled, took another deep breath and walked round the corner my head held high, my dress moving as it should, everyone at out table was looking at me, when I finally reached the table, I wrapped my arm around Jaxon’s neck planted a kiss on his cheek, and sat down next to Carrie, "Nova?" Bruno said

"hi Bruno I didn't see you there how have you been?" I asked my whole body was straining to punch him, I restrained myself and kept my cool, Jaxon sat down next to me, my leg crossed over the other showing even more leg than I already had, Jaxon noticed Bruno was staring at me more than he should, so he wrapped his arm around my my knee I leaned forward, wrapping my arm around his shoulder, my mouth was so close to his ear, "it's nice to see you making an effort Nova" he said with a smirk on his face,

"I only make an effort for those who are worth it Bruno" I said, the boys at the table all laughed even his parents and carrie cheered "YES" Bruno's smirk had disappeared, he stomped back round the table towards celia and sat down, Jaxon turned around to face me, he moved closer to me so he could whisper in my ear, "Nova 1 Bruno 0" he said I giggled then turned my head slowly, "thank you" I said then I began to pull away, we gazed into each others arms,

"LADIES AND GENTLEMEN IT IS MY PLEASURE TO WELCOME OUR HOST FOR THE EVENING, JAXON PARKER" a voice came over the microphone, "I will be right back" he said as he kissed my cheek, he ran up on stage, "GOOD EVENING EVERYONE, AND THANK YOU FOR COMING TONIGHT LIKE EVERY YEAR QE ARE RAISING MONEY FOR MANY DIFFERENT CHARITIES, THIS YEARS CHARITIES ARE, CARLISLE FIRE DEPARTMENT, CASH FOR KIDS, EDEN VALLEY HOSPICE, THE CUMBRIAN DOWNS SYNDROME CHARITY AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST CARLISLE'S FOOD BANK LAST YEAR WE RAISED A TOTAL OF 1.6 MILLION LETS SEE IF WE CAN MAKE IT MORE, LADIES PLEASE SIGN UP FOR THE AUCTION, GENTLEMEN I HOPE YOUVE ALL BE PRACTICING YOUR AIM FOR THE BULLSEYE COMPETITION, I NOW WELCOME BACK OUT HOST FOR THE EVENING MR ROBBIE DIMPLEX THANK YOU" cheers and an round of applause was heard all around the room, Jaxon came back to the table, he sat next to me, I was smiling "well done for doing that I don't think I could" I said

"after doing it as many times as I have you get used to public speaking" he said

"so are you going to auction yourself tonight?" he asked me, we were very close together, "I never thought of it, really, it would be amazing to raise money for those great charities but who would win me?" I said so only he could hear, "I know I already won" he said I couldn't help it everything he said he made me feel so special, our heads moved closer together, we kissed each other, right in front of everyone, his lips tasted so good, they were warm and soft, his tongue gently caressed my lips, inadvertently seeking their deeper goal, I obliged and opened my mouth, our tongues exploring each others mouth, my whole body responded to him as much as he responded to me, it was like it was just us two, Jaxon moved closer to me, cheers and whistles were heard from carrie, Lee and the rest on the table, Bruno was scowling at us and his girlfriend was trying to kiss Bruno, we were laughing and giggling as we pulled apart, I buried my head into Jaxons chest as I couldn't stop blushing, Jaxon stood up, "same again baby girl" he said asking me if I wanted another drink, "yes please but let me get this round" I said "no my treat" he said, I couldn't stop smiling, I watched as the couples and different people who had came got in to the full swing of party mode, I watched as nearlly all the women there had signed up for the Auction, Carrie had just come back from signing her name, Bruno was just scowling at me he watched as Jaxon walked away and I turned round to speak to carrie it was like we had been friends for years, all of a sudden I felt a huge hand tighten around my wrist squeezing really hard "get up Nova your coming with me" he said full of fury, "no ow Bruno let go of me now" I said standing up, "Bruno let go of her right now" carrie said, "shut up you dried up hag" Bruno said, I hadn't realised but Jaxon had come back he gently took hold of my hand, Bruno still holding my other wrist, Jaxon got really close to Brunoamd said "Bruno if you do not take your hands off Nova right now I won't be responsible for my actions" he said they stared each other down, Bruno's parents walked around the table "Bruno you stupid boy how could you treat Nova like that, let her go" his mother Mabel said Bruno finally let me go, "fine have the useless fat b***h she's no good for anything anyway" he said "right that's it" Jaxon said and before I knew it he had punched Bruno, and Bruno was on the floor crying, "my nose, you've broke my nose" he was shouting, security men came over to us picked Bruno up off the floor and took him outside, Jaxon had hurt his hand, I looked at it, "come with me" I said as I pulled him with me, he happily followed, I took him over to the bar, "do you have a tea towel I could use" I asked the bar tender, "yeah sure" he said handing me a clean one from underneath the bar, "can I have your first aid kit and two doubdle brandys" I said the barman nodded and said "coming right up" he said he handed me the first aid kit, I wrapped ice from the ice bucket in the towel and gently placed it on his knuckles, I got a anti bacterial wipe out of the box and a plaster two.of his knuckles were bleeding his hand was bruised, I cleaned them, Jaxon hissed at me, "sorry" I said as I carried on, "thank you" I said "for what" he asked "for defending my honor" I said as I smiled at it, "noones ever done that for me before, I'm sorry if I caused you any problems" I said

"you didn't he deserved it he had no right to say that about you, we've hated each other for a while now so there's no harm done" he said he flinched again, so I lifted his hand up to my mouth and gently kissed his knuckles, he was shocked and watched me intently as I did it, as I lowered his hand to look at it, "does that feel better?" I asked, "much thanks" he said and just in time for the barman to hand us our drinks, "we each picked up a glass, "cheers" we both said clinked our glasses and I downed mine in one, he stared at me, "what?" I said and giggled "finally met a woman who can give you a run for your money" I said and winked at him, I cleaned up the rubbish and gave back everything I used to the barman, we both walked back over to the table and began to enjoy the night together...
