Cleo’s pov

“Cleo Taylors wake up now!”

What on earth?

I move under the covers and try to open my eyes but I can’t and my head is killing me!

SHIT!

Did I hit it on a wall or something and…

Wait!

I am under some covers which means that…

Where am I?

“CLEO!” he shouts again giving me a fright and I jump up breathless.

I close my eyes immediately like a flash from the bright light and stiffen. I am in my room, everything feels so sore and my head is so damn heavy!

“What on earth did you drink and how? Where have you all been?” he asks with pure anger and I groan as his strong voice is not helping me with my headache.

In fact it makes everything way worse and I listen to everything more intense than before.

“Good morning to you as well daddy…” I murmur falling back to bed and covering myself as I feel cold.

“I can’t believe you got drunk!” he exclaims sitting on the bed next to me and I raise my one hand in desperation.

What a strong voice, he wants to kill me for sure!

“Can you please turn off the lights?” I ask in the sweetest way I can and he groans sighing but a second later he stands up, walks probably to the windows and closes their shutters.

The light is not so bright now, only the balcony door allows it to come in and I exhale relieved sitting up with difficulty and yes, he didn’t have the lights open, it was the sunlight!

“And now I am waiting Cleo! What happened and you all disappeared last night? Are you serious? Where have you been and why did you get drunk?” he asks me calmer than before and I open and close my eyes again before I answer him.

By the way, he doesn’t look so mad anymore, he is probably worried because it’s the first damn time he sees me in this mess although I have gotten drunk one more time when I turned 18 and I was with the guys back at New York!

He sits next to me with his eyes travelling on my face inquisitively and I lean to him and wrap my hands around his arms. I bury my face in his neck and he hugs me back gently.

He has such an amazing scent! How much do I love it?!

And I have missed this way of waking up. When I was a child he was the one that was coming to wake me up for school and he was so good at this. I loved waking up with his whispers and caresses and he was so patient!

“Cleo…” he states after a while with no word leaving from my mouth and I tighten my hold more.

I am still sleeping and this pain…

“Where is my nickname?” I ask with complaint like a lazy cat and he chuckles.

Perfect, I enlightened his mood! One point for me and if I continue I am going to avoid his scolding!

“Alright you wicked princess, I won’t get mad, I am calm enough but I need some explanations because I am worried here!” he says softly and I giggle pulling a bit back and rubbing my forehead.

“I was for clubbing with Adelaine, Gabriel and Will! The last thing I remember is dancing at the club with Gabriel, we had so much fun and then nothing! How did I get here and… Oh…” I say looking at me and realizing that I am still wearing my dress.

I guess I was too drunk and I fell on bed immediately!

“At least Adelaine didn’t get drunk because she is pregnant because the three of you…” he starts and I blink my eyes.

“Yes?”

“Well, you did nothing but the boys woke up the entire pack house! Adelaine drove you back here… I was sure you wouldn’t remember a thing!” he says with meaning and I smile innocently.

Ops! That hurt a bit, it is so humiliating and he knew but wanted from me to tell him!

“I am sorry… I guess…” I mutter nervously and he smirks.

“You guess? Really?” he asks teasingly and I blush hiding my face.

Oh my God! The truth is we f****d it up because we had to stay here, the celebrations were for me and I left with the guys without telling anyone but I needed to and it was so f*****g fun! We were drinking (except from Adelaine), laughing, dancing and in the end William was knocked down and I continued dancing with Gabriel that was so good at this and it was a huge surprise for me. I have my suspicions that Adelaine recorded it and we will die from humiliation if she shows the video to the others but who cares?

“Did you see me when we came back?” I ask timidly and pull my hands down to find him nodding smirking.

“Who else?” I ask breathless embarrassed and he laughs.

“Mm… Your mom, Cassidy, Richard, Thor, Elliot, some guards and the omegas but don’t worry, you could walk with some help from your mother! It was William with Gabriel that couldn’t move at all, they were almost unconscious and Elliot with Richard took them to their rooms! Adelaine was crying from laughter and she told us the basics!” he says and I sigh quite relieved.

The good thing is that William and Gabriel stole the show and I did nothing!

“And now you have to get up, take a bath, get dressed and come down for breakfast. The others will be down soon and then you have to train the pack!” he says standing up and I fall back ready to cry.

NO! I had forgotten about it and although I love training I am not in mood today with this headache!

“And before you come down take this with some water…” he says with meaning leaving something on the bedside table next to a big glass of water and I narrow my eyes surprised yet curious.

“What is this?”

“This is going to help with the headache and the side effects from the hangover!” he explains walking to the door and I sit up smiling.

“Your father was quite crazy when he was young like you…” he murmurs opening with door with a devilish smirk and I chuckle.

He gets out after he closes his eye and once the door closes I exhale and rub my eyes sleepy, the realization hits me the very next second and I groan nervously.

Today it’s my first day as the Beta, last night things got out of control, now the guys know about me and Thor and it is freaking me out when I remember that Finn knows as well and from today I will have to work with him all the time but what can I do?!

Patience…

Anyway, I sit up, take the small white pill with some water and then stand up and walk to the bathroom. I need to take a bath and get ready, this is going to help me more although my head is still killing me.

I get in and take off my dress and then my underwear. My shoes were removed from my mom I guess when she helped me come in my room and I leave my hair fall free while staring at me in the mirror.

Well… I look quite well and my makeup is not so bad, I had removed the most of it before we leave with the guys because I had been crying before and my skin is not shining but it’s not so pale. Only my eyes are a bit tired, it is logical but after the bath I hope they will be better.

The next thing I do is lock my gaze on is my necklace, the heart! It looks so beautiful and I smile at myself emotionally.

I will follow my grandpa’s advice, I will give it to the one that is going to win my heart and this one won’t be Thor for sure!

I take it off as well because I don’t want to throw water on it because of the music box there is in the heart and I leave it on the counter. I didn’t listen to its melody yet but I have to do it soon because I am quite curious.

Then, I walk, get in the shower and turn on the warm water immediately. I close my eyes as the first drops fall on me and smile from the relaxing sensation! This is so great and I could spend the rest of the day in here but I have to hurry so I take my shampoo with my right hand, put a small amount on my left palm and leave the bottle back to its place. I lather the liquid into my hair quickly and then leave the water wash away all the shampoo. I continue with my shower gel and wash my body as quickly as I can and when I am done and there is no shower gel on my body I turn off the water and walk to take one big, white towel from the counter right after the shower.

I wrap the towel around my body, use one smaller for my hair and when the most amount of water is removed I take my hairdryer to dry it for good and then brush it leaving it in my natural big waves.

The following thing I do is wash my teeth and put my necklace again and next I go to my dressing room, take some underwear, a pair of black sports leggings with a matched sports bra, put them all on and I grab one white jacket with my white Nike and a pair of socks.

Good! I am ready after a minute and the only thing I will have to do after I take my breakfast will be to tie my hair on a tail…

“Are you ready missy?” I ask Clea that is quite silent and she nods laughing.

There she is and she sound more than ready!

“And your head is already better!” she commends as I walk out of my room and I smirk wickedly.

I am glad it is better because this helps me get in the right mood and gain my patience again! You have no idea how difficult it is for me to take my breakfast with Thor one chair away from me (Will is between us) and Finn with Elliot on my right… Gabriel is opposite of me with Adelaine on his side and between him and Thor the asshole is the b***h’s seat(cough) that is fortunately missing.

And let’s forget that it was supposed to be my seat and continue.

I almost run down the stairs and greet some omegas that are going upstairs to clean up the rooms and after some seconds I am almost at the living room heading to the dining room.

“Hey, you are fast!” Adelaine yells from behind me and I stop turning to her that gets in the living room with Gabriel following her stumbling with a painful expression and his eyes almost closed.

OH s**t!

He is so pale, he can’t even walk, his eyes are so red and he can’t open them completely, he has to be in pain and he groans in every step he takes.

“Are you still alive?” I ask him teasingly and Adelaine laughs making him cover his ears.

“I am losing him… Look at his mess! I can’t believe it!” she exclaims joining my side and he gives her an angry look.

“Bite your tongues and help me make it till the dining room! I need an ice pack, I think my head is… f**k!” he mutters and stops walking.

“Remind me to never ever drink again!” he whispers as I grab him from his elbow and Adelaine does the same from the other side.

We get in the dining room some seconds later and we find almost everyone here… And I mean my parents, Richard, Cassidy, Finn, Elliot and Thor… Only William is missing and I am impressed yet worried…

Could he be dead?

“Good morning!” I say first smiling and they all turn to us with Thor and Elliot looking at us in annoyance.

They have problem we had fun and they didn’t obviously and I am so happy! What did Thor think? That I am going to stay locked in my room and cry or mourn?

The hell no!

“Where is the i***t?” Gabriel asks groaning realizing that Will is not here and Adelaine chuckles.

“Come and sit now and forget about last night’s incidents!” she says as I take my seat between Finn and Will’s empty one and they continue in order to go to the opposite side.

“I see that some had much fun last night…” Richard murmurs wickedly and I nod biting my lower lip.

“But they didn’t have to drink that much!” Cassidy adds raising her eyebrows firmly and giving a discreet look at Gabriel and Will’s seat.

“Cassidy, it’s your son’s fault, I assure you! He challenged me!” Gabriel says sitting and everyone except from Thor laugh.

He has locked his eyes on me and I am getting so angry! Is he for real? What does he want now?

“And where have you been? The way you left was…” he speaks up harshly talking to me and I get ready to open my mouth and reply but Finn coughs and both of us freeze.

I turn to him and he drinks one big sip from his coffee. He looks so… Calm?!

What on earth?

“We did the same, so she and the guys are excused! And let’s not forget that it was her night and she had to have fun in the way she wanted to because from today she has lots of duties…” he says casually looking at Thor and believe me I am doing my best to prevent my jaw from dropping.

Do you know something I don’t? Did he just take my side?

“Um… Yeah?” Clea says thoughtfully impressed and I look at Gabriel that seems quite lost with Adelaine surprised like me.

“Yes, Finn is right Thor, you are the one that has no excuse and I am impressed you didn’t leave all together to go and celebrate!” Richard says quickly and we freeze (not Elliot).

“ Well, now that Richard is mentioning it… You all left me here alone!” Elliot says annoyed but we all ignore him.

I mean, why should I, the guys, my parents and Thor’s be interested?

Thor and Finn want him so this is their fault!

“So Thor? I am waiting… Why didn’t you go with the guys?” Richard repeats and my mom gives me a discreet look knowing the reason (the fake one).

“I… Well…” Thor starts but stops nervously with no try from me and the guys to help him.

Do you know what? This is so f*****g funny yet entertaining!

“Because they are no fun!” William says getting inside with bags under his eyes, his hair messy and wet and dressed in casual clothes.

“Oh, look at the ‘clever’ i***t!” Gabriel exclaims and lets out a low cry from the pain making me laugh.

And I think I just remembered what happened and why Gabriel is so mad at him, he was bringing us drinks all the time saying that we had to drink for Adelaine as well and when Gabriel denied he challenged us. He said that the winner would have a special prize and we agreed, we couldn’t think so logically anyway and then I…

“You are the i***t one! You can’t take it so why did you drink?” Will asks angrily sitting next to me and placing a kiss on my cheek with Thor sighing in frustration.

“Says the one that can… I won, didn’t I?” Gabriel asks turning to Adelaine that shakes her head negatively.

“WHAT?” he exclaims shocked and this time we all laugh and William smirks victoriously.

“So this means I won!” he states with pride and for once more Adelaine signs in disagreement.

“Hey, why?” he asks confused.

“Because Cleo was in a much better condition! She was walking on her own when we left the club!” she replies and I clap my hands excited.

See? I WON!

But don’t tell them I cheated and I was throwing my drinks when they weren’t looking at me pretending that I was drinking!

“She reminds me of someone…” my mom says pointing my dad that smiles innocently with pride and I avoid Thor’s burning gaze turning to William.

“And my prize is?” I ask smiling brightly and he narrows his eyes shaking his head.

“A trip? Are you fine with it? I will replace you!” he replies disappointed but Thor clears his throat and I hold back a growl knowing what this means.

He has other plans…

“This won’t happen any time soon so maybe you would like to change your mind… I need Cleo here!” he states firmly looking at him and me and I tap Will’s hand.

“Fine, then I am going to take care of her grandma’s house’s renovating!” William announces with a challenging look and Thor’s smile faints.

He wasn’t expecting to listen to something like this because I had told no one else about it. Only he knew and from last night Gabriel and Adelaine. Not even my parents knew my intentions and I am sure they won’t like it and not only because of what happened with the rogues but also because they wish I could forget about my grandma.

“Excuse me, what did you say?” Thor asks angry and my dad sighs frustrated with my mom looking at me worried.

“Cleo, there is no way! Did you see what happened some days ago? You could have been killed and it is too far away! Forget about it!” my dad says raising his tone and Thor the asshole nods.

“Yes, you didn’t even ask me!” he says next with arrogance and that’s it.

I am not going to keep my mouth shut even in front of his parents!

No one tells me what to do because I am not a child and the house is my property! I don’t care about their reasons, my dad never liked my grandma but I love her and Thor is a hypocrite and I don’t know what he is thinking about but I don’t care!

“I didn’t have to ask you because the house is mine and I do whatever I want!” I say with my eyes burning Thor’s that he is staring at me speechless and I turn to William.

“ So, I accept Will, thank you!” I murmur cheerfully and he smirks pleased.

“Cleo, this is not safe, we are talking about danger here, did you see what happened three days ago?” my dad asks doing his best to control his anger with my mom stiffening and avoiding eye contact with me.

Elliot is smirking enjoying the small ‘fight’ while Cassidy is smiling nervously in sympathy like Adelaine and Richard seems quite neutral, he doesn’t want to interfere. William and Gabriel are surely on my side and Finn… He is not ironic or annoying and this is one more surprise and Thor…

I am shocked he hasn’t killed me yet! He is turning red like my dad but I just disobeyed him and I know he doesn’t like it at all! If it wasn’t for our parents then he would have already tear down the entire house and then we would have a fight, a big one!

“As you saw I had no problem at all and for me it wasn’t such a dangerous threat and… Now that we opened this discussion… I would like to say some things in front of everyone because I won’t have to repeat myself again, I want you all to know!” I say calmly and my dad with Thor growl.

“Yes dear?” Cassidy says with her usual sweet and full of understanding smile and I blush.

She is always so kind to me and Richard is but she is different and they are always soft with me.

“As I noticed the borders have no guards and I, as the Beta, have a big problem with it so Finn and Elliot will have to make a program with all the guards and their shifts and give it to me today! Guarding only the pack house and the other buildings is useless if our borders have no one to guard them!” I state and Richard nods pleased like everyone else expect from Thor and Elliot that are staring at me frozen.

“Alright Cleo! It will be ready by tonight! I will try to have it in your office early at the afternoon so you can check on it!” Finn says smiling and I am trying to stop myself from looking so surprised.

This is… Weird! What happened to him?

Oh, except if he is up to something to humiliate me for once and for all!

“Um… Really now? We will have to… Thor!” Elliot says nervously after some seconds and Thor blinks his eyes ready to talk but I have other plans generally.

“Thor has nothing to do with it! I am reporting to him and I am responsible for everything and you are for the guards so don’t look at him at all! You are under my commands and you will do as I say!” I say using my Beta tone and he stiffens but after no reaction from Thor or someone else he just nods and lowers his head.

Great!

“It was about time! No offence Etan but not putting them to work because they are Thor’s friends and we feel their parents like our brothers doesn’t mean they won’t take care of their duties!” Richard commends and my dad nods quite…

They were lazy because he didn’t give them orders and now he is happy? Does this make any sense to you because it doesn’t to me!

“And also… I don’t have to mention that everyone attends training, right?” I continue and drink some of my orange juice.

“No, you don’t!” Finn replies quickly and William coughs with Gabriel and even Adelaine opening their mouths widely.

Thor lowers his gaze with a dark expression and says nothing but Elliot is somehow reacting this time, more than before because he growls and his hands turn into fists with his eyes traveling from Finn to me and again the same.

“Excuse me? I am not attending training every day! I don’t need to and…”

“YES YOU ARE BECAUSE I SAY SO!” I cut him off and he gasps.

“And to be honest… You will be my partner so get ready because I am not a very easy opponent and also I am not easily impressed or pleased from someone’s abilities! Am I clear?” I continue and he looks at Thor begging him desperately to talk.

“Cleo…” he starts and I snap my head to him raising my eyebrows.

“I think this is too much and… They don’t need it!” he say through his teeth stiffening awkwardly and I smirk in frustration.

“Really? Is this what you think? Have you seen them? Because I have been observing their training the last three days and I have to say that I wanted to cry for two different reasons, from laughter and disappointment! Their condition is dramatic yet funny! He is the second Delta and he can’t stand on his feet for even two minutes and if you want then come and observe one training, one!” I say trembling feeling my blood boiling and he closes his eyes cursing.

I guess I triggered again the beast inside him but I am not lying and he had to face the reality! I am not playing with the pack’s safety, I want it the strongest and safest there is and he won’t stop me, this is my job and I am serious and determinate here!

“Yes, just f**k him!” William yells through our link and I bite my lower lip to stop me from laughing with Gabriel and Adelaine smirking.

“You just killed him, really! Look at him!” Gabriel says devilishly.

“He is going to explode, run away and cover yourselves!” Adel adds laughing.

“I think it is clear that Cleo is doing the right thing here so this discussion is over! Let’s take our breakfast now and relax!” Cassidy speaks up and my parents with Richard nod.

“Yeah, we have lots of things to do anyway!” Finn says smiling and Adel signs in agreement looking really hungry.

She has to eat for two and I understand her! She wasn’t so well the previous weeks and she couldn’t eat so much as the doctor had told her and now she is better and she has to replace the lost time. The baby is healthy but it needs to gain weight and she has already lost a lot because she wasn’t eating.

We start eating gradually, we talk and fortunately laugh and I ignore Thor that is staring at me all the time not caring if our parents understand something. Maybe he is sure they won’t think about us being mates due to my behavior today. I got him very angry and this is why he has an excuse, not that he can think when he is in this state of mind. When Thor gets angry then he can think of nothing. He is also trying to talk to me through our link but I am blocking him easily and I love it!

The more time passes the angrier he gets, his cheeks are red, his eyes almost black but he keeps on trying and this is not my problem because he is a stubborn jerk that doesn’t take ‘no’ for answer!

Clea is giggling all the time excited and satisfied for the way I am behaving and she is not helping a lot… She is not so self-collected and this is something new for me because she is usually the serious one between us.

“Adel, you are going to throw up!” William exclaims shocked after some time when she gets ready to eat the...

Wait, I am counting!

Sixth giant toast with extra cheese and turkey and she groans annoyed.

“I am fine, your godson is asking for it!” she replies and takes a big bite of it.

“And we are going to need more…” Cassidy murmurs smiling at her with affection as the toasts are over.

“No problem, I will tell the guys!” I say getting ready to stand up and go at the kitchen but Will stops me bored.

“We can mind link them baby… I think you forgot how it feels like to be home!” he says and I roll my eyes.

Okay, to be honest I was mind linking no one at the college to bring me something and I am not used to it. It is still weird for me and I will need some time but it wasn’t a big deal anyway and I don’t like people running for me when I can do something on my own.

We continue eating and I am almost done eating when one of the omegas, Ava, a eighteen years old beautiful girl with long black hair and dark green eyes, pale skin, full lips and normal weight and height gets in with a big plate full of toasts.

She greets us all, bows and walks to the table from my side. She stops three steps behind me and Finn that is not showing her any interest and I see her stiffening nervously. She is trying to find a way to leave the plate in the middle of the table but she has a scared expression, she is hesitating to tell someone help her and she starts shaking for no reason.

I get up clearing my throat letting her know that I can help her and Finn pulls back to give her space realizing everything. I take the empty plate from the table and turn to give it to her after she places the other one when my eyes land on Elliot’s that are locked on Ava who is now shaking even more.

I narrow my eyes confused and keep on looking at him discreetly but he is not taking his gaze from her and it is so… Dark and scary and when I give the plate to Ava and she turns to leave like someone is chasing her I freeze.

Her right hand is bruised with scratches and imagine she is wearing a blouse with long sleeves but it the color is white, the fabric thin and it is visible so it has to be bad… She also looks like she is in pain and scared and if you add Elliot’s gaze…

Think Cleo, think! You can’t let her go! They need to know and worry…

BINGO!

“Ava! What happened to your hand? Does it hurt?” I ask quickly before she walks away and she stops panicked with all the others looking at her confused.

“What do you mean?” my mom asks worried and I walk to Ava that is standing like a statue paralyzed.

“Her hand…” I murmur as I take it in mine and pull the sleeve up revealing the dark bruise with some deep scratches.

I close my eyes feeling my rage raising and my blood boiling and take a deep breath making amends to maintain my composure or else I will probably kill Elliot!

Why do I have a bad feeling about it?

“What happened to you?” Finn, Cassidy and Richard ask in union and my mom stands up rushing to us worried.

“Ava! Why didn’t you tell us?” she asks once she sees it as well and she stiffens lowering her head with Elliot turning pale.

I WILL KILL HIM!

“It’s nothing, really! I… Was for a run, I slipped and I fell on some thumbs with thorns.” She says trembling and I sigh.

I need to talk to her in private, I have some basic suspicions and she will tell me only if we stay alone, I know her quite well but she was always quite scared and shy, she was never talking that much.

“Ava, go to the pack doctor please and today you are free of duties!” Thor speaks up and stands up walking to us with concern and I turn to her quickly.

“She doesn’t have to go to the doctor now, I have a great ointment in my room! It is for this kind of bruises, scratches and cuts so I will take care of her!” I say in hurry and he stops next to me, looks into my eyes for a while with a serious, troubled expression but in the end nods.

“Alright… If she needs anything else then just tell me or take care of it Cleo!” he murmurs under his breath and I nod taking Ava out of the room without losing time with my mom taking the empty plate.

At least he is worried about everyone and I mean it! If Thor is good at something this is in showing interest to any member of the pack no matter its rank and this is important. I have accused him for some things but I have to say his strong points as well, I don’t like being unfair.

We start walking upstairs in silent and she is getting more nervous. I am almost 100% that this has to do with Elliot but I need from her to confirm it and then just pray for him because I mean it, I will kill him! Not even Thor likes or approves violence in the pack so I will make sure he bleeds!

We reach at the top floor after a while and I lead her to my room immediately. We get in and fortunately the others are done from here already so they won’t interrupt us and I close and lock the door behind me with Ava standing next to me shaking.

“Beta…” she starts but I caress her cheek and point the bed.

“It’s just Cleo! Sit, please! I will bring the ointment!” I say as I walk to the bathroom and take a box I have with some bondages, ointment and painkillers.

I go back to the room and she is already sitting at the end of my bed sniffling avoiding looking at me. I sit next to her, open the box, take out the right ointment and smile worried.

She look so scared, nervous and… Broken!

“Ava, could you please take off your blouse? I need to see it better!” I say softly smiling encouragingly she nods timidly.

She starts pulling it up and I open my eyes widely when I see that the right side of her body is also bruised and I can’t hide my anger. This can’t be an accident!

By the moment she has taken it off my fists are shaking and Clea is howling outraged with Ava trembling.

“Ava… Did Elliot do this to you? I want the truth, I won’t say a thing but I need to know! You have my word and…” I start unable to hold back for more and she breaks into sobbing before I end my phrase.

Shit!

“He…” she starts but stops and hides her face with her hands as I hug her.

“Is your mate!?” I ask in understanding and she nods crying even louder.

Why damn it? Why?

She looks to be in so much pain and I feel worse than I had felt when Thor slapped me and I knew we were mates. I can’t understand why they have to behave this way! And let’s leave me and Thor out of it but why Elliot and Ava?

I know that Elliot is a d**k, he always was but she is his mate and she is so sweet and kind and beautiful and no matter what she is his mate and I can’t accept it, I don’t want to! And he is abusing her?!

Why?

“Shh… It’s fine Ava, calm down… Would you like to tell me what happened?” I ask softly while caressing her hair and she nods wiping her tears.

It is obvious she has enough and she has no parents or any other relative, they died lots of years ago and she has no one except from some other omegas at her age. Maybe this is why Cassidy and my mom love her so much, they feel sorry…

“He… He doesn’t want me because I… Am omega!” she says crying and I shake my head in understanding.

“I… I found it out when I turned 16… He is… Hitting me… Threatening me… And he… Is sleeping with other women! And… He wanted me as his personal… Maid!” she continues and I growl tightening my hold around her.

The f*****g, coward bastard!

He is worse than Thor because he found the perfect opportunity as Ava is an omega and alone but this stops now!

“He wants to be close to you and check on you, right?” I ask her after a while and she nods.

“Hit you!” I say and she nods.

“Okay baby, calm down and breathe! He won’t touch you again, I promise you! I will take care of everything! If you continue like this then you are going to have a panic attack!” I continue more worried than before and she cries out gasping.

“I can’t… I… Want to… Die! I…”

“Hey, no! Don’t say such things or else I will go and kill him!” I say in frustration.

“No, please. He…” she starts but a knock at the door makes her freeze and Adel’s scent comes in my nose.

Oh, I am glad she is here because I need her help! The more we are the better because I want to get sure Elliot won’t touch her again!

“It’s Adelaine, don’t worry, yes?” I say standing up to open the door and she nods sniffling.

I run, unlock and open the door and Adel looks at me scared. She has surely listened to Ava crying and this is why she is like this.

“Come, I need you here…” I whisper and I lock the door again with her walking to Ava panicked.

“What…”

“Elliot is her mate and he is abusing her!” I state before she asks and she runs her hands through her hair unable to believe it.

“Are you f*****g kidding me now?” she exclaims ready to start screaming and I sign for her to calm down.

“I will… Kill him! I will burn him alive or I will rip his heart and I will scatter his pieces!” she whispers through her teeth furiously and wraps one arm around Ava that is still trying to stop crying.

“Adel, I have a plan, I will go and talk to Thor right now about it and…”

“NO!” Ava screams with Adelaine jumping up and I raise my hand for them to stop.

“I won’t tell him about you being mates! I will ask from him to let me take you as my ‘maid’! You will help me and Adelaine in order to be sure you will be alright! I will tell him you are melancholic and you don’t feel so comfortable around Elliot! He is going to agree, I know him!” I explain quickly and Adelaine nods thoughtfully while Ava is sniffling in desperation.

“And I will take care of Elliot personally, he is going to bleed!” I add shaking and Ava gets ready to protest but I stop her.

“I know he is your mate but he doesn’t deserve a good treatment for abusing you! This is serious here! He could have killed you!” I say in frustration and she lowers her head.

“Cleo is right sweetheart! He has to take his lesson and get in his empty head that you are not alone anymore! We won’t tell the boys but we will take care of it on our own!” Adelaine continues and takes the ointment.

“I will put it and I will cover the scratches, she has to eat as well, she has lost too much energy and I am not so sure she has been eating the last days, this is why she is not getting healed so fast!” she says next and I nod.

“Yes, good! And I will go to talk to Thor! The sooner the better!” I state and with this I get out and I am ready to mind link him when I take his scent and follow it reaching outside his office, again…

I just don’t want to get in there with him again, the last thing I want is to stay alone with him after the way I behaved before. He is still mad, I can smell it and I am not scared but I don’t want to have another fight, I need some peace and I wish I could wait for some hours until asking from him to talk…

Come on Cleo, you can do this, it’s for Ava!

You have to, it can’t be that bad and…

The door opens like a flash and before I react I am dragged in the office from an outraged Thor that bangs the door behind me, pins me on the wall and immobilizes me with his body. I open my mouth to speak but he places one hand on it and then he puts his other hand in my hair and forces me to throw my head on my right and he buries his face in my neck growling.

I feel my heart beating fast in my chest, my skin shivers from his hot breath and not in the pleasant way and his strong pull is hurting me.

His body is shaking above mine, he is growling and it is quite echoing for me from the tension and I know he is fighting with himself but I don’t know why or for what.

“WHY?” he growls next my ear and pulls back removing his hand from my mouth.

He is still holding my hair, he is not letting me move and he leans closer with his eyes traveling from my eyes to my lips. I stay silent for a while looking at him in the coldest way there is and a new feeling starts being created in my heart.

I feel… No sparks, no bond, nothing!

There is only… Ice and disgust!

“Why CLEO?” he repeats more demandingly and although he hasn’t been accurate I know what he means.

It’s about my general behavior…

“Why are you provoking me?” he asks running out of patience with his eyes almost black and I growl.

“Because I love this pack and I won’t let you destroy it!” I reply firmly and he narrows his eyes troubled.

“What on earth? Do you think this is what I want?”

“I don’t know Alpha, you tell me…” I say slowly and he groans touching his forehead on mine.

I don’t resist him and not because I don’t want to or I am scared but because I don’t want a bigger fight, I don’t want the others to know, I can’t risk it! He has no mind to think about it but I have and I know what I have to do…

I know him either he likes it or not!

“What do you want from me Cleo?” he whispers after a while of being in silence but this time his tone is full of lust and I smell his arousal.

I don’t get it, really, this is ridiculous!

“I want you out of my way!” I state coldly and he pulls back with a hurt expression that makes my blood boil.

Fuck my life with your madness Thor!

“I can’t do that… I… Don’t want to!” he says like it’s a threat and tries to caress my cheek but I manage to raise my hand and stop him.

“You can’t run away… I will never let you!” he states breathless one step away from losing his temper for good and I smirk ironically.

“I will do anything I want! Don’t mess with me… This is my last warning!” I say through my teeth and he leans closer again with our breaths getting mixed and my disgust growing bigger.

“Why? What is going to happen if I do mess with you?” he asks under his breath ready to kiss me and I raise my other hand and grab him from his neck catching him off guard.

That was it Cleo!

He is insane and you are done from him trying to hurt you!

“You will see another Cleo!”

Also there is one more new book and the first chapter was published yesterday and it's name is Thorns Of The Past! It is about three couples with different love stories. Becky run away after Gabriel marked someone else and they meet again after 18 years but this time Becky has their kids. Their son find his mate in the face of Gabriel's stepdaughter's, Hayley's, the daughter of the woman that got between his parents. Lots of problems, fights and dangers are going to threaten everyone so if you are interested check it out, I can't say more, I am sorry!
