“Mom, don’t let Senovia play all day,” Carl said. “I know she’s just in the first grade, but she really needs to do her homework.”
Carl knew that his mother spoiled his only daughter. She was a typical grandmother who was strict with her own children but who let her only grandchild get away with murder. The double standard always confused him but he felt lucky to have someone to take care of her while he was attending the Claims Conference.
