“What happened? Mel?” the young man said as Serenity blacked out and fell face-first into the water. I dove in without a thought and pulled her into my arms.
“I don’t understand what happened?” the young man said.
“Alpha, you gotta get her in warm water. She heals better that way.” Darrell said firmly. I nodded and ran up the path and through the house. I stuck my nose in the air to scent who was nearby. God dammit.
