Alec I lay restlessly in my bed for several hours, tossing and turning. I wanted to be snuggled up with my mate. I wanted her floral sea and floral scent to surround me and lull me into a peaceful sleep. But as the hours ticked by, sleep never came. I finally climbed out of bed and went into the living room. I was startled by a little bird bent over in the refrigerator sifting through the food in there. “Can’t sleep?” I asked. She jumped and hit her head on a shelf. “Bloody hell, you have got to stop doin’ that. You’re gonna give me a bloody heart attack!” she said breathlessly. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to scare you.” I said. She straightened and turned to look at me. “But to answer your question, no. I can’t sleep. I thought maybe if I got a bite to eat I’d be able to nod off.” S
