Valin watched William. He was sweating profusely, his breathing was staggered. He really wanted to “poke the bear” but if it affected his ability to be King, maybe he didn’t need to know. “Thank you for being candid with me,William. You’re dismissed.”  William turned heel and quickly left the room. Not much longer after he left, Jade knocked on the King's door. “Enter.” Valin said curtly. Jade walked in and held the door for Josey, bowing as Josey walked past her. Valin stood up and greeted Queen Sueli. He could feel his length rising involuntarily in his pants. Her hair was curled tight, cutting its length in half. Jade had put a braided crown on her head that held her rustic gold crown perfectly.  As the door started to close, Valin could feel the stares of the twins.  “Shall we get down to business.” Josey requested. Valin listened to her proposal and took notes. She was full of solutions to problems he didn’t realize they had. “So if we add the system roots at specific places along the border, we can maximize the usage of voice recognized dimensional assistance? “ Valin asked, still furiously writing in his notebook.  “That’s right. They can respond to violence or a call for help within more than several miles and request or automatically send help to the specific locations with a live broadcast.” “That’s fascinating.” Valin smiled and took a few moments. “Will you be able to help with the planning of this undertaking. I have searched the continent and there are only a few interdimensional technology specialists.”  “King Valin, I have my own duties as Queen of Nethersigh. I’m sure you understand that. But If we do assist, I will use the transporter that's set up in our bedroom in the guest hall going forward. The twins will need to be available the moment I cross into Wilshana. If I am with you, you are my protector, there will be no excuses for any form of harm coming to me. Since I am due in 5 months, I will only work every other week for the next 3 months, then after my child is born we will work out additional details. Since this would be posed as a favor from our country, pay will be whatever is suitable to your budget. How does that sound?” Josey said and smiled. Sueli was jumping up and down in her head in anticipation of his answer. “You drive a hard bargain, Queen Sueli.” Valin grinned. In his head he was screaming ‘Yes! When can you start!’ “I think all of your demands are reasonable.” Before Josey could answer there was a knock at the door. William opened the door slowly, “I am so sorry Your Majesty. Queen Zelah is demanding an audience and tensions are really high between her and the twins in this hallway.”  “Just let me in, William!” Zelah raised her voice. Josey sighed, “Looks like our time is up. I look forward to working with you.”  Josey stood up and made her way towards the door. Zelah stomped into the room like a child throwing a tantrum. She stopped and looked awkwardly into Josey’s eyes.Valin stood up, he felt like their silence signified a fight he didn’t want to be a part of. “Queen Zelah.” Josey said and then continued towards the door. “Your hair is pretty.” Zelah reached out to grab Josey’s hair. Valin moved from his seat like he saw her life flash before his eyes. Liv and Adiv had already swung their machetes.  Time had stopped at that very moment. Valin’s breath was caught in his throat as he held Zelah’s reaching hand close to his chest. The twins had narrowly missed Zelah’s hand and the tip of his nose.  They were not playing about their Queen which made her more dangerous than any army or King in the world. Rogues were the most dangerous Yanrana and they always had each other’s backs. Valin swallowed hard, “Thank you for stopping by Queen Sueli.. Liv..Adiv”  “Tell your Queen to keep her hands to herself.” Adiv growled. His eyes shined with all of the weight of the gold in Wilshana. They seemed upset that her hand was still attached. Josey never flinched or turned around. Zelah was left terrified and speechless. Valin turned towards her and released her hand. “Don’t ever touch a Sambofahn’s hair, especially the Queens.” Valin snarled. He was pissed. Her lack of understanding of Yanrana culture was going to be the death of everyone in Wilshana including himself. “Well, I never!” Zelah yelled.  “You sat in this office alone with that jezebel and then her goons try to kill me and you are upset with me!” “Do you only have two emotions? Emotionless and annoyed?” Valin asked. They had only been married a day or so and he was over her. “I just wanted to voice my concerns about their room. The maids said the walls are cracked and the floor has deep scrapes in them. That's all. And you were in here with HER!” “Watch your tone, Zelah. She will be working on our security project so she will be working with my  team I hired within the castle walls. Take care not to disrespect her or the twins” Valin pushed his fingers through the top of his hair, trying to reset it back and turned to walk to his desk. “Why are you so worried about my reputation? “ Valin asked and then sat back at his desk, his heart still beating fast from the frightful interaction. “I just imagined I would marry a perfect King because I strive for perfection. “ “Would you like to tell the people of Wilshana, you made a mistake?” Valin leaned forward. He felt like steam was coming out of his ears.  Zelah wanted to find a corner and hide from him. He was a man who expressed all of his emotions regardless of how one would take them. She gathered her words and courage and spoke, “I think I need to rethink my approach to being the perfect Queen. I don’t want to anger my husband and I don’t want a divorce.” “Is that all?” Valin snarled. Zelah quickly nodded and Valin waved her off.  He rested his face in his hands, “I need a hug.”He whispered to himself  then chuckled. --- When Cofer closed his eyes, they vacated the darkness behind his lids. He had held their body many times. Felt the warmth of their kiss and their searing heat on his length. This time was different. He could still see their dancing body on top of him. See her arching back as he held her  bottom in his hands. Their heart beat even sounded louder and left an impressionable rhythm in his head.   Maybe it was because they were pregnant but his attachment to them had grown  exponentially. He was more than enchanted by his wife and after her speech, he was sure she felt it too. Josey said that she would accept not having Valin, but he didn’t believe that for a moment. She was only saying that to make him feel better, to cull a raging anger that he was having a hard time masking.. He could see it in her eyes. She was lying for his sake. He was going to leave and give her space to get to know him without worrying about upsetting her husband. As soon as he arrived back in Nethersigh, he called a meeting with Lincoln and Evansly. He was going to sneak away. He had 2 goals that he needed to complete before Josey’s 3rd trimester of pregnancy. He wanted to be here when their sons were born.  “Good Morning My King.” Evansly and Lincoln said succinctly.   Cofer stood staring out his office window. “The gargoyles are getting restless, it is time to take them back home. I would also like to make the trip to look for the .  Lincoln and Evansly nodded. The gargoyles had helped them with larger building duties but occasionally they would have to plead with them not to eat the residents.  They would sometimes rage about the temperature. It wasn’t hot enough in Nethersigh.  He originally wanted to leave because it hurt so much to see Josey in pain over another man, lately there has been a growing hatred for Valin inside his heart. “I want to support my wife’s decisions.” Is all he could think. “How would you like to prepare for this journey, my King?” Lincoln asked. “I will only be traveling with a backpack. I will need beef and chicken jerky, a bag of rice, and a bag of blood based bouillon cubes. I will come back after I make the trip to the realm of the gargoyles, to resupply. Evansly stood back and watched Cofer’s interaction with Lincoln. Silently judging him. He could see a change in him. And he couldn’t decide if it was good or not. “Is there a problem, Evansly?” Cofer asked. He could feel him focusing intensely on him. “Sire…You aren’t going to talk to her about these feelings?” Lincoln turned quickly and mouthed, “What are you saying?” “Why can’t you just leave me the f**k alone? Uh? I don’t want to talk about it. I’m tired of f*****g talking about it!! I’m tired of being sad! I’m tired of being strong.” Cofer’s roared. His intimidation spell was in full swing. Lincoln and Evansly  were working hard to stay conscious.  When he finally calmed down, he released the spell. “ Just let me be…… Lincoln, get that taken care of as soon as possible.” The men tried to shake off the strain Cofer’s spell put on their bodies. This time Evansly decided holding his tongue was for the best.
