Lola had no choice but to say yes. Kevin was a bit unpredictable and she must be more flexible, trying every possible way to stay in the mansion. Chase narrowed his eyes. Kevin learned from the best hacker in this world. Lola would definitely lose. After that, Kevin would decide that she was just another dumb woman who came to this mansion, hating her even more. When Kevin got so tired of this woman before him, Chase would tell him that the woman was actually his mommy. Kevin would never accept her. It was such a perfect plan.
''Madam Dussa is a great hacker. She changed our company's keycode singlehandedly. I bet she's gonna win.'' Chase exaggerated her non-existent hacking skill on purpose to lift Kevin's expectations. The boy fell for that as he expected. He wanted to challenge the woman before him right now. Lola's heart beat violently. She didn't know what should she do next as she asked nervously, ''Kevin, you've promised to accept the treatment. Shouldn't we treat you first?'' ''Fine,'' Kevin put one of his sleeves up as he said impatiently, ''Just insert the needles already, so we can start to compete after this.'' Kevin was pretty cooperative this time. He didn't even flinch when needles sunk into his skin. Lola couldn't imagine what pain he had endured before. ''It must be pretty painful, right? Just hang in there. I'll finish other body parts very soon.'' Lola sighed. When the treatment was over, Kevin jumped off his bed instantly, demanding to start the competition right now. ''Kevin, maybe you should take a rest first.'' ''I'm okay. We've got a couple of new computers over here. Which one do you wanna choose?'' Lola felt a bit weak as she excused herself to go to the bathroom.
Locking up the door, Lola let out a sigh. She fished out her phone and started to thumb out a text. Cole was the only one who could help her right now. Five minutes, Lola walked out of the bathroom, ''Let the competition begin.'' She looked quite confident.
"Well then," Kevin frowned, "Let's go to the study…"
"I have one condition. We must stay in the separate rooms during the competition."
"Why?"
"I'd like to have some privacy."
"Fine." Kevin shrugged, wondering why she was so confident before him. They went to different rooms and picked up laptops. Lola sent a message to Cole right away, asking the boy to remote control her laptop. Kevin, meanwhile, was constructing a firewall at his own pace. 5 minutes later, the wall he constructed was destroyed. He didn't expect that woman to be so fast. Kevin constructed another wall instantly, which was more difficult to get through than the last one. But it was still cracked a few minutes later. Kevin's eyes widened. Furious and pissed off, the boy constructed the most perfect firewall using all the techniques he knew.
Cole was studying the new firewall, but Lola suddenly cut off his connection. She knew the competition couldn't keep going, or Kevin's confidence would be shattered. Cole slammed the table as he lost the connection. He called Lola right away. Lola picked up the phone, lowering her voice as she spoke to Cole, "Honey, that's enough." "Mommy, the wall Kevin just built was quite complicated. I was studying it… How could you…"
"You're sure you could c***k it?" Lola arched one eyebrow.
"Well…" Cole sounded hesitant, "How can I know if I don't try? That one was probably the most difficult one I've ever seen…"
It seemed like Kevin was still better than Cole when it came to internet security. No wonder… He learned from the best after all. "You're already good enough, sweetheart. You have nothing to prove. Mommy is a bit busy right now. I'll be home soon. Love you." After hanging up the phone, Lola stayed in the room for a while before walking out.
"Kevin, you're awesome. I couldn't figure out the last wall. You have won." Kevin looked like he was so pissed off as he lifted his gaze to meet Lola's.
