Lola felt her heart was gonna jump out of her mouth as Chase broke into the room. "Who are you?" Staring at the child in the room, Chase raised an eyebrow. Lola also got in, ready to grab Cole and run away. But she didn't see Cole. She only saw a girl. Cole had put on a wig and Mia's dress, face smeared with makeup product. When did he put these things on? The boy was so fast.
"She…" Lola swallowed, "She's my daughters' friend. She came for the girls' night…"
"Really?" Chase stared at the "girl" suspiciously. Cole nodded, not speaking a word. Chase didn't have the time to inquire a little girl. He left one last warning look before he walked out of the apartment. Cole let out a cold laugh. He thought this man was smart. But this Chase Dalton was still fooled by his trick. The hacking was just a game. For those who dared to give his mommy a hard time, Cole had prepared another "surprise". Locking up the door, Lola took Cole in her arms, "You're such a smart boy. He would have found us if you didn't act so fast."
…
Meanwhile, inside Chase's Maybach.
"Mr. Dalton, no women dared to be so rude to you except that Lola Swain."
"She'll pay," Chase said coldly.
Paul nodded, "Kevin loves pranks. I bet she will suffer when she tried to get along with him." Paul remembered what he had been through when he tried to bribe the boy using Legos and an iPad. Chase smiled. That woman had abandoned his son when he was born. Whatever she was going to suffer, she probably deserved it. Lola arrived at the mansion just on time the second day. Chase had seen through her disguise. There was no need to hide anymore. So she showed her true face this time. Kevin frowned as he saw her face, "Where is Madam Dussa?"
"I am Madam Dussa," Lola put the kit on the table before she answered the boy calmly.
"No, you're not."
"I am…I umm… I put some makeup on the other day for… some reason…" Lola stuttered. That lady who came the other was not as pretty as the woman before him, but she made him feel safe and comfortable. But… her face actually fake? Kevin hated it when people lied to him, "So, you're a liar."
"No… I'm not a liar. I just…" Lola denied.
"Even your face is not real. How can you tell me that you're not a liar?"
Facing the rage in the boy's eyes, Lola finally went speechless.
"That's right, Kevin," Chase had listened to the whole conversation, arms folded, "Women are liars. They will show up with fake faces, and they even will fake their death sometimes."
Fake death… The two words hit Lola like a truck. She wanted to explain but she didn't even know how should she do it. She didn't need to fake her own death if it were not for this man. After hearing what Chase said, Kevin turned to look at Lola with hot anger, "Dad, I won't let this lair be my doctor. Just make her go away."
"Kevin, you need to be treated right now. I won't lie to you this time, I promise," Lola said to the boy anxiously before she turned to glare at Chase, "Mr. Dalton, I believe you know Kevin's situation is pretty serious right now. Could you stop making this worse?"
Chase sighed and approached Kevin, putting a large hand on his boy's head, "Kevin, some people may be horrible but they also can be useful. This lady, for example, is a great doctor and hacker. You can let her treat you while trying out her hacking skills." Kevin gave Lola a strange look, "You know how to hack?"
Lola had no choice but nod. She knew nothing about computers, but this was her only chance to stay and save Kevin's life. It was okay to lie a little.
''You're really a hacker? Then you can stay to treat me. But you must spend 2 hours every day on challenging my hacking skills.'' It was too hard for Lola. She knew nothing about hacking and computers. Seeing the hesitation on her face, the boy pouted, ''Are you gonna agree with this or not? You must leave if you refuse my offer.''
