29 I'm not Cole

601 Words
Kevin had never been to any theme parks before. He had never heard of places like that. The boy hesitated for a while and nodded heavily. If the other three babies heard about the theme park, they would be cheering and screaming in excitement. Kevin's reaction somehow broke Lola's heart. She reached out a hand to touch his hair, but Kevin dodged it. That's right… Lola thought defeatedly, Kevin hates being touched… Lola forced out a smile, "You will like it." Kevin was curious about everything when he entered the park. There were so many little kids like him. "Kevin, do you want some snacks? Ice cream?" Kevin shook his head hesitantly. "Which ride you do wanna take first? The haunted house? The Roller Coaster?" Kevin didn't seem like he was interested in any of those rides, "Could you take a picture for me?" Lola went a bit stunned. So, he only wanted to take pictures for his mom? Lola nodded and pulled out her phone. Kevin stood there, forcing out a smile on his cold little face. He must be doing this to make his mom happy. Lola felt a bit bitter seeing the boy like this. "Kevin, if you don't like it here. We can go eat your favorite dessert. What do you think?" Kevin thought for a second and nodded. When they went to the bakery, Kevin asked Lola to take pictures for him again. Lola stared at the boy, "Kevin, you don't look genuinely happy right now. Your mommy will notice. Just forget about the photos first. We need to have some fun. I'll take pictures for you when you're truly happy. Is it okay?" Kevin went silent as the forced smile on his little face disappeared. He went to the counter and picked a lemon cake. Putting it on the table, he sat down and started to eat, silently and well-mannered. He didn't look like a little kid at all. He acted just like his serious dad. Lola somehow felt so bad for him. Lola needed to pick up Mia and Monna from the kindergarten at noon. Kevin also came alone. Seeing all those little kids from the kindergarten, Kevin went a bit jealous. He had never been to any kindergartens because of his poor health. Lola noticed the look on his little face. She tried to comfort the boy, "Kevin, you can go to the kindergarten just like other kids when you get better." Kevin looked up and hid the emotions in his eyes. He became all silent and composed again. Mia and Monna ran toward Lola happily. When they saw Kevin, however, they both seemed a bit surprised, "Cole, where did you find the suit? It looks amazing!" "Yes," Mia agreed, "And your hair. You look like a prince today." Kevin arched an eyebrow, "I'm not Cole." His cold voice made the girls surprised. "But you're Cole…" Monna blinked. Mia stared at the boy for a while and she suddenly remembered the ad she saw on TV, "You… You're Kevin?" How did this little girl know his name? Kevin frowned. Lola could tell Kevin's confusion from the look on his face, so she explained, "Cole mentioned you to them before. He said you guys looked the same." Kevin went less suspicious hearing the explanation. Lola knew Kevin was a smart boy. So she found a chance when she was alone with Mia, telling the girl the things she shouldn't let Kevin know. "So, you don't want Kevin to know that Cole is our brother and your son?" "Yes." "But why?" Mia looked so curious.
