The next day, after leaving the kindergarten, Lola went to the Dalton mansion right away. Chase didn't go to his company. He had been waiting for her all the time. His cold gaze had been fixing on her the whole process of the treatment. Lola didn't want to waste her time on this man. She needed to grip any chance that she could spend the time alone with her Kevin. Whatever Chase's intention was, she always had a plan to counter it.
We'll see, Chase Dalton. She thought to herself.
Lola left the mansion this time sooner than Chase could dismiss her. Chase was a bit stunned as he watched her leave. This stupid woman knew his temper after all. If she dared to be clingy to his son, he would kick her out of his place and not allow her to see Kevin again.
Chase left a couple of words about safety to his son and went to his company happily. The minute he left Kevin's room, however, the boy heard a rattling sound against his window. Kevin was a bit confused as he saw his twin brother's face outside. He went to open the window for Cole instantly.
''It's really you!'' Kevin exclaimed in surprise. Cole jumped in in fluid motion, ''Yep! I bet you're happy to see me then.''
Kevin nodded, a big smile on his face, ''What's your name?''
''Cole Swain, you can call me Cole. I know you're Kevin, by the way.''
''Cole? Okay… Are you currently living with mom?''
Cole nodded instantly.
Kevin's eyes were lit up, ''Where is she?''
Cole went a bit hesitant. Lola had told him that she didn't want Kevin to know who she was for now. She would only tell Kevin that she was his mom when Kevin changed his ideas about her.
''You'll see mom soon, but not now. Do you need to go out? I can replace you just like the last time we did.''
Kevin frowned at his twin brother suspiciously, ''How did you know that I need to go out though?''
''Well…'' Kevin scratched the back of his little head, ''Madam Dussa told me about it. She's a friend of Mommy.''
''Really?''
''Yep. Or how would I know.''
''When can I see Mommy?'' Kevin seemed to care about this problem more than anything.
Cole pouted. Mommy said she wouldn't tell Kevin who she was until Kevin started to like her. He didn't know how long would it take for Kevin to finally like someone.
''Mommy is not around recently. She wishes you could hang out with Dussa and get some pictures for her. She wants to see your face. When she comes back, she'll meet you. Mommy wants to see your smile.''
Kevin felt a bit complicated hearing everything Cole just said. He didn't know why Mommy just wouldn't see him. Did she actually not like him? Kevin decided to ask her when they finally met.
''Kevin, it's getting late. Madam Dussa is still waiting for you outside. You need to go.''
Kevin left the mansion and let Cole stay. He saw Lola's happy face the moment he got in the car.
"Kevin! Finally! No one saw you when you tried to sneak out, right?"
"No," Kevin was a bit impatient as he fastened the safety belt.
"Where do you wanna go? I'll drive you anywhere you wanna go."
Kevin went frozen for a second. He didn't need to investigate where mom was anymore. Now he only needed to have fun with Madam Dussa and send a couple of pictures to mom.
"Where can we have fun though?"
Hearing the question, Lola knew Cole had done a great job.
"Let's go to the theme park together. What do you think?"
