The next morning, Lola went to the Dalton's again. She needed to do the needle treatment for Kevin's recovery. She didn't expect Chase to stay though. The man didn't even go to work. He'd been sitting there the whole time when she tried to treat Kevin.
Why didn't he go to the company today? Did he become suspect after the skit from the last time? Multiple possibilities started to storm in Lola's head.
"What are you thinking right now, Madam Dussa?" Chase's voice was cold and mocking.
"Oh… Nothing," Lola answered quickly before she sank another needle into Kevin's chubby arm. The little boy just lied there, lips set in a hard line, not whining or crying for even once. He was pretty cooperative when Lola performed the treatment. He even rolled up his sleeve himself.
Chase raised an eyebrow as he noticed the fact. Kevin was a stubborn child. He was seldom so agreeable to anyone. This woman was smart enough to get along with his boy.
When the treatment was over, Chase still showed no intention to leave. "Dad, you don't have work today?" Kevin asked curiously.
Chase didn't say anything as he regarded Lola with those intense grey eyes. He suddenly broke the awkward silence with a question, "Is Madam Dussa still practicing hacking skills with you?"
Nope. They hadn't practiced anything for a while actually. The two-hour practicing had become "going out and finding mom". But Kevin knew better than letting his dad know about the truth. So he nodded heavily, "Yeah, we're still practicing."
"Cancel it," Chase suddenly said, "I'll find a better hacker so you can practice with him."
But why? Was he deliberately reducing the time that she could spend with her boy? Before Lola could protest, Chase dismissed her, "Ma'am, it's time for you to leave."
"Dad… But I want her to stay!" Kevin protested.
Chase stared at his boy, frowning as if he was annoyed, "I thought you didn't like her? You don't need to spend so much time with her if you don't like her."
Saying that, his eyes fixed on Lola again, "Madam Dussa, you've fulfilled your duty. It's time for you to leave." His words were cold and unbending. Lola knew he meant it when he said that. She went a bit speechless at this point. Lola had the heart to reason with this man before him, but she knew Chase was too headstrong to negotiate with her. Besides, she couldn't even afford to offend him. If he got pissed off and shut her out, she couldn't even cure her boy. That would be the worst.
So, Lola could only leave now. Seeing her leave, Kevin knew that finding Mom had become an impossible task. The boy pouted and looked away from his dad, his little face filled with disappointment and anger. Kevin decided that he wouldn't talk to his dad ever again. Chase had noticed everything and he was even more sure that he had made the right choice. He decided secretly that he would be here each time when Lola tried to give Kevin a treatment and he would kick her out once the treatment was done. He wouldn't give her a single chance to approach his son.
Lola was so pissed off after leaving the mansion. She couldn't help but curse with a hushed voice on her way back, "Chase Dalton! You massive asshole! You big f*****g psycho!"
She was still quite upset when she prepared dinner for her babies. Kevin must want to hang out with her. What could she do to spend more time with Kevin without being found out by Chase?
When Cole got in the kitchen, Lola was still wincing.
"Mom, when can I see Kevin again? I want to practice computer skills with him…"
Lola was pulled back from her thoughts. She sighed to her son, "I'm afraid you can't see him for a while…"
"Why? I can sneak in. Just like what we did from the last time…"
"Last time?" Lola stopped. Her eyes were lit up the moment a great idea dawned on her. Cole was right. He could definitely sneak in the house!
Taking in a sharp breath, Lola turned to look at her boy, "Cole, could you do mommy one more favor?"
"What is it?" The boy's eyes were wide and bright.
