30. Movies

I wake up in the morning, and he's already gone. I go for a walk.

We're not near earth anymore. I don't see any planets. Only stars. I spend another hour going back and forth on the walking slider things. Then I ride up and down on the escalator a bunch.

I go over to the bar for lunch. There are lots of people in it eating. I don't know any of them.

The wall gives me more cheese pizza and water. I sit at a table and put bear so he faces me. Then I eat by the window. It is amazing seeing the stars from up here. I feel someone staring at me. I look over and future Dipak is standing halfway across the room. I go back to my food.

I get done eating and take bear back to Tre's room. I get there at the same time he does. He looks like hell.

I give him a hug. "I'm sorry."

"You got nothing to be sorry for baby. Did you eat something yet?"

"Yea I had pizza."

"Do you eat anything other than pizza?"

"Not really."

"Why don't you let me take a nap, then me and you can have a nice dinner? Just us."

"It sounds amazing. I love you."

"I love you too baby." He kisses my head.

I watch the door shut. "Ship, can I have a room to myself?"

"Of course. Continue to the end of the hallway. You are assigned room 1. It is located by the officer lounge."

It looks like the others. I sit bear on the couch beside me. "What is there to do? I guess we can watch out the window some more. Blinds up." The blinds go up, and I see the stars again. They are amazing.

Someone knocks on the door. "Well damn. Tre figured that out fast, bear. ENTER."

Future Tye comes in. "What are you doing?"

"I wanted... somewhere to sit. Do I need to leave? Is this someone's room?"

"No, it's fine. It's an empty room. Well it was. It's yours now. You must be bored to death. I'll show you something. Brain, bring up the television with the movie list showing. Give us popcorn. Movie snacks. 2 small sodas. Water."

He sits on the couch and picks up a box. "Anything that shows up on that screen is fake. It's only for entertainment. None of it will be real. It's movies and shows that are stored on the ship."

"That's a lot of snacks."

"I wanted you to be able to try them."

"Thank you."

"Now to pick a movie. Maybe something animated, so you know it's not real and nothing that scares you." He pushes buttons.

I move closer to him and sit bear between us.

Sound comes out of the wall. I jump right in his lap. It's really loud.

He laughs and puts me back. "It's the sound of the movie. I turned it down." Then he gives bear a big bowl. "Popcorn." He eats a handful of it. I eat a piece and it's good. I sit there eating it. "Lights down. Blinds down." The room gets mostly dark, and a movie starts on the screen. It's nearly as big as the wall. "Here, try this." He hands me something little and brown.

I throw 1 in my mouth after he does. It's good but kind of "Spicy."

"No, that's just mint. It's not hot. Here this isn't minty."

We work our way through the snacks while a princess movie plays.

"Alright, I have to go do some more work around the ship. I'll show you how this works first." He holds up the remote for me to see. I move over and sit on his lap, so I can see better. "Hit this button, and it takes you to this screen. Then you can pick something to watch. There are all kinds of movies. Action ones and animated like we watched. There's some... And you're falling asleep."

I snuggle into him. He's so warm.

I wake up an hour later in bed with bear. I roam to the sitting room. It's cleaned up. There are still snacks on the table and the little box is there. There's also a note. -Popcorn was what you liked the most.- Then it has a heart on it. It makes me smile. I wonder if it's wrong to like my mate from the future.

Then there's a knock on the door. "ENTER."

"What are you doing baby?"

"I think this is easier, and I won't keep you up all night. I know I'm horrible to sleep with, Tre."

He shakes his head. "I just needed a nap."

I shrug my shoulders. "I didn't want to disturb you. This works well."

He sits on the couch. "Come here baby."

I snuggle up beside him and cry.

"What's wrong?"

"I don't know."

He kisses my head and picks up the note. "What is this?"

"Tye came and showed me how to watch movies. He watched a movie with me, and we ate movie food."

"Tye?"

"The future Tye."

"What's a movie? Can you show me?"

I smile. "WE NEED POPCORN. SHIP. BRAIN. POPCORN." I grab the box. "You hit this button, and it brings up categories on the screen. Then you pick what you like. I'll pick action. Then it lists a bunch of movies. They are fake, they are like plays. Then you watch it."

"Let's try this." He starts pushing buttons while I get the snacks and popcorn. He plays a movie called Armageddon. I snuggle up beside him with the popcorn. I love him.

It ends up being a good movie. Then someone knocks on the door. Tre yells, "ENTER."

My Dipak and Marcus walk in.

Tre puts his arm around me. "You have to see this."

An hour later, they both know how to make movies play. We also eat a lot of popcorn and throw some at each other. We have fun and everyone seems to enjoy the time. Then someone knocks on the door. One of them yells, "ENTER." I'm really into the movie.

"Time for dinner. We're going to eat in the dining room again."

I shake my head. "I already ate."

Tre pulls me close to him. "Popcorn and chocolate don't count as dinner, woman."

I get tears in my eyes. "Don't make me go please. They don't want me here."

He kisses my head. "Me and you can have dinner tonight. Like I promised."

I snuggle against him.

Dipak crosses his arms. "Why did she say that?"

"That's what future you told her. The only reason she is here is because she was in the room with me. They couldn't get around bringing her to."

"I'm a f*****g dick." Tre nods. "Let me talk to her. I'll bring her down to your place in 10 minutes or so." Tre kisses my head and stands up. Him and Marcus leave.

Dipak picks me up.

I start bawling. "You don't want me."

"I want you more than anything, sweetheart. I'm glad you're here. I wish I could have more time to spend with you. I love you so much. These dickheads from the future already have their mate. They see you as a baby version of her. They don't know you like we do. This whole thing is so confusing. I see future you. And she's not you but she is. I don't want her though, I want you. They must be feeling the same things."

"It is confusing."

He hugs me tight. "People change over time, babygirl. But I think me and you turn out pretty good. We seem happy."

I remember her attacking Dipak with kisses in the hallway. "We do seem happy."

He kisses my head. "And I'm happy now with you. And knowing we'll be happy in the future makes me feel good. So who left you this note?"

"Future Tye. He showed me the food and how to watch movies. He watched one with me and I fell asleep. I woke up to that."

He seems like he's deep in thought. "No kissing or anything, right?"

"No. Bear sat between us."

"I like bear a lot more now."

I start laughing.

He kisses my cheek and picks me up. "Let's go deliver you to dinner."

We get half way there, and he throws me over his shoulder. "I'll get you there faster."

I crack up laughing.

He starts knocking on a door and I hear Tre yell, "ENTER."

"I have a delivery for you."

"It's fragile. Don't drop it."

Dipak pretends he's going to drop me and I lose it. He puts me on my feet and I can barely stand up. He kisses my head. "Enjoy your cheese pizza sweetheart."

Then Tre laughs. "I think we'll try chicken strips and fries, actually."

Dipak smiles. "You'll like that too." He kisses my head. "I love you sweetheart."

"I love you too." I give him a hug before he goes.

Tre puts food in front of me. I stare at it.

"It's chicken and fries baby. You can dip them in this ketchup sauce if you want. Then there is barbeque sauce for the chicken."

I try the barbeque and about gag. "NO." He moves it away from me. I put a fry in the ketchup, and it's the new best thing ever. It's as good as pizza. I take the ketchup and try to cover the fries.

"Try this. It's a different sauce for chicken. It's ranch."

I dip the smallest piece of chicken in it and taste it on my tongue. "It's good."

"I knew we would find one you like. You need to eat meat. You can't live off cheese pizza, popcorn, chocolate, and cinnamon rolls."

"I do though."

"Oh, I know you do."

We talk through dinner, then we snuggle up on the couch and try to watch a movie. I wake up when he carries me to bed.
