5. Drained

"Get him,"I heard a voice screamed. I snapped my head to the direction of the voice and a ball of darkness rushed to me. I tried running but I was stuck to the ground with tears and an overwhelming suffocation.

I opened my mouth to scream but I was swallowed up by the darkness. My eyes couldn't part open. I fell through an open space with eerie sounds and wind howling around him.

"Get him,"The voice repeated, a lot clearer this time. I snapped my eyes opened to find myself in the woods. It was eerily dark.

I don't know what's happening to me. Could I have died. I struggled to my feet dusting off the leaves from my body.

Maybe if I could get to the pack house, I would know how to get out of this whatever it is.

Footsteps hurried towards me, I could barely make out the faces clearly in the darkness.

"You betrayed the pack."He screamed as he ran, the fear obvious in his voice. Someone betrayed the pack.

I crunched behind the wild grasses as his assailant, a hooded man chased behind him with the same knife dripping with blood.

My heart constricted in fear and my mouth taste like blood. He ran fast past where I laid behind the weeds. The hooded man ran after him.

"You are the real monster,"He yelled in the dark. Branches swept loudly as they ran past. The hooded guy wasn't giving up, he chased hotly behind him.

The wind howled against the trees and my skin felt eerily dry. I needed to get to the pack house. If I can remember clearly, these two guys were among the dead people Ava showed me.

I'm reliving their memories and I don't know how to get out.

A knife slashed through the air and got stuck in a tree. I could only watch as the guy shifted in a brown wolf and howl.

Fear gripped my insides, I couldn't watch him die. The hooded swiftly dragged the knife out from the tree and before the wolf could race away, he swung it at him and slashed his neck. Red energy glowed on the knife and quickly disappear.

The wolf howl in agony and managed to run further off but didn't make it far before falling to the ground back to its human form.

Tears came to my eyes, he was dead. I shut my eyes and laid behind the grass. I know he wouldn't see me but I'm frozen in fear.

There was no monster killing status but a person with a knife. He instantly turns back and I shriek in shock as he grabs the edge of the blade and stabs it through his chest.

His body starts morphing, his face smoothen over and a beastly growl escapes his lips and he zooms off in the wild. I wiped the bead of sweat off my forehead and tried controlling my erratic heartbeat.

A wave of nausea hits me and I laid on the ground feeling dizzy, I've heard of stories about wolf being able to walk through people's memories, it seems I got this abilities but how do I exit it.

Ava was right, there could be a monster and it's all related to that man. I need to get to the pack.

A ball of black energy glowed and rushed to me, I closed my eyes allowing myself to get sucked in, maybe I'll get to go home now.

I feel like a ball of air in endless darkness, falling and falling but I don't really know where's going to end. I'm push down with no control until I start hearing voices, familiar voices.

"Nothing like this has ever happened to her, she was passed out in the bathroom and wouldn't wake up but her heart beat is okay."I hear my mother's voice.

I struggled to snapped my eyes open but I just can't.

"I've heard of similar occurrence before.."Another voice added.

"Where?"My mom asked.

"In a pack I went to treat a patient several years back.."

"Really,"My mom replied, I couldn't open my eyes but it's the first time that my mother sounds so worried.

"Yes but back then, the girl woke up with dark powers similar to that of a seer."He informed.

I feel a hand on my hair, gently massaging my scalp. I tried to parts my eyelids but they just seem to stick harder together.

"I really don't think that's the case, we don't have such powers in our lineage and neither does her father's."My mother voice sounded again.

"You could just use your powers and wake her up,"The voice suggested.

Both went silent for a bit and my mom drew a long sigh, her fingers tangled in my hair and I felt her leaned closer to me. I've heard about my mother's healing abilities but I have never seen her use them. We were not close and she chose to work separately and never mixed house issues with her pack duties.

"I rather not,"She began,"Tomorrow is the full moon and I don't want to do anything that might stop her from shifting."

"But shouldn't you make sure she's alright first,"

"She will be fine, the Alpha's blood runs in her veins."My mother softly whispered.

I slowly become dizzy and I feel myself slipping away. The last thing I hear is the soft beeping of the heart monitor before I slip into nothingness.

"Rose, Rose, Rose,"I felt a hand on my shoulder trying to jolt me awake cause it work.

I opened my eyes to find Ava above me although her image is a bit blurry.

"You are finally awake,"She states with a look of concern. "You were screaming in your sleep and the heart monitor was almost erratic, thank God you are okay."She leans in and pats my head.

I pulled away and she smiles sheepishly,"Sorry I got carried away."

I sit up and looked around the room.

"You are in the infirmary, your mother found you in your room after you had passed out and rushed you here, it has been a day already."

"So today is the full moon,"I mumbled.

"Yeah,"Ava replied. "So what happened to you, why did you pass out in the bathroom."She asked.

I recalled everything that happened, suddenly feeling pains in the bathroom, passing out and having dreams that looks like someone else's memories.

"I really don't know, I was just in the bathroom and I felt dizzy and passed out."I lied, "Have you seen my mother,"I asked trying to change the subject and it seems to work cause her face beams up almost immediately.

"She asked me to watch over you until she comes back from the pack meeting."

I nodded and made to get off the bed but Ava holds me down. "I think you should stay put until the doctor checks on you."She insists.

I sighed and fall back on the bed.
