Only when I saw how astonished he was and when he burst into loud laughter, I realized what he could have understood from what I said and I couldn’t find anything else to do but to cover my eyes mortified. My gesture made him laugh even louder and I uncovered my eyes and gave him a dark glance. Then, I also discovered that all the customers in the coffee shop turned their eyes to us. “What’s so amusing?” I hissed at him. “Calm down, kitten, calm down,” he said. “There’s no need to take out your little claws. You were funny, so it was normal to laugh, but I assure you that I wasn’t laughing at you. Nonetheless, you must admit that the double entendre of what you said was hilarious,” he tried to cajole me. It was funny, indeed, and I burst into laughter as well. That seemed to please him
