MAYBE THE IDEA OF A relationship with Ian had been in my mind all along, somewhere in the subconscious. There had been little interesting things about Ian that I had noticed unconsciously, but they hadn’t found their way to the surface of my mind. He was also my subordinate. That was why I hadn’t ever consciously thought of him as a possible partner, because I knew it was an impossible relationship.
However, now, I was able to admit that I had liked him all along and part of my frustration and anger towards him was clearly due to unspoken wishes harbored deeply in my heart.
