ON THE FOLLOWING FRIDAY, I decided to take all my power back. It was mine after all and I had to put my foot down and make it happen. It was high time I’d done it already. I’d been procrastinating for too long and that didn’t do any good. It was the right moment to assume leadership and if I hadn’t been able to do it, then clearly my place wasn’t there. I would have to return to New York with my tail between my legs and throw in the towel. Well, that wasn’t a too pleasant option for me, to be honest.
I was already sick of being taken as a fool and being dismissed because I was either a woman or a foreigner, so I let everyone know that I would have separate meetings with the middle and high management staff during the day. That didn’t seem to stay quite right with most
