I supported my head with my left arm as I watched Alyssa sleep. Her half face was buried into the pillow and her body was at least three inches away from mine. I couldn't believe that I had her lying this close to me. She was lying facing me and almost snuggling in my chest. Just one turn and she'll be in my arms which I was waiting for because I had promised her I wasn't going to touch her but if she was to touch me, I was not going to let her go.
Why did I have to be such a coward and push you away, Alyssa? Why didn't we give ourselves a chance?
