Chapter 10

“Ano ka ba as long as it passed your taste it’s totally fine with me and besides I maybe staying in the condo for like a year only I am planning to buy a lot in forbes park and build a house there.” I told her.

She laughed again.

“I knew you wont stay long in a condominium!” she said.

Natawa nalang ako sa reaksyon nya, its true pala that you don’t have to have a lot of friends, one friend was enough as long as she’s true and genuine to you.

“Of course I would want a house! Hahaha I am planning to stay here for good.” I answered to her.

Nanlaki ng bahagya yung mata nya sa akin.

“For real? Is this for real Psyche Estella?!” gulat na gulat na sabi nya sa akin habang kinukurot ako.

Napaka mapanakit talaga ng babaeng to.

I laughed at her again her reaction is really priceless!

“Oo nga I am staying here for good.” I answered to her.

“Oh God we need a proper talk! Come on! Let’s go to your condo and order some wine and meat! She exclaimed.

This girl never runs out of energy!

We got up and went outside the shop.

I was about to go inside when I saw the man across the street.

It was the man on Heiran hotel though I  am not so sure but he surely looked like him.

Hindi pa ako pumasok kaagad sa car kasi inantay kong makaraan yung nagdaan na bus natakpan kasi sya ewan ko ba I just want to confirm if its him or not.

Pagkaraan ng bus I saw someone na hindi sya, a man as tall as him but definitely not him.

Maureen and I arrived at Viesta Towers in Makati and unlike what Maureen said I actually liked the place its cozy and I really liked the design. She’s very articulate about this I only asked her last week and yet she come up with this.

Maureen works as a model and real estate broker that is also the reason why I asked her to help me look for a place here in Manila.

I also asked her to buy me a car and she bought me a Mercedes Benz-S class which I also liked.

“So did you like the place? If you want some renovations, we can have them done immediately,” Maureen said as she sat on the sofa.

“Mau I am not one of your clients, chill.” I said to her.

I walked towards the kitchen and look for something to eat sadly wala pa nga palang laman ang refrigerator ko. I have to go grab some groceries tomorrow.

“What food do you want? I’ll order.” I asked Maureen.

She stopped for a moment and then think.

Ako naman I immediately looked for the remote of the TV and search for Netflix.

“Hmm I am craving for chicken eh why don’t we order samgyupsal? And some beer. Wag na tayo mag wine girl!” sabi nya sa akin na excited na excited.

I rolled my eyes at her.

“Wala ka bang shoot tomorrow? Baka mamaya magmukha kang bloated at puffy nyan kung magbi-beer tayong dalawa ngayon? And besides di ba sobrang concious mo sa katawan? Ilang oras mo nanaman ipag-ggym bukas lahat ng kakainin mo tonight?” I asked her out of concern.

Maureen just pouted her lips at me and then rolled her eyes.

“Manager ba kita ha? Hay nako stress ako ngayon at alam mo ba wala naman akong shoot bukas nagpahinga ako sa modelling because my Dad wants me to start running his business. Ayoko nga sana lalo pa at sa kompanya ni Damon nya ako pinagte-training napaka sungit pa naman ng pinsan kong yon para bang laging inuurungan ng regla.” Reklamo nya sa akin habang inis n ainis yung mukha.

Natawa naman ako sa totoo lang kasi hindi naman kailangang magreal-estate broker ni Maureen for Christ’s sake she’s a Gutierrez. And her Dad owns a good manufacturing company of textile. But her love for modelling made her fly out of her comfortable nest. Unlike my Dad Maureen is very close to her father, but when she told him na gusto nyang maging model hindi kaagad sya sinuportahan ng Daddy nya. Instead he let her be independent and live her life the way she is as long as she promise that when the time come that their family business needs her she will give up modelling.

“So I guess magreretire ka na sa pagiging model? And bakit hindi ka nalang sa kompanya nyo magtraining kaysa sa ibang kompanya I think mas okay na sa kompanya nyo ka magtraining para mas ma-familiarize ka on how it really works.” Sagot ko naman sa kanya.

Maureen rolled her eyes like there’s no tomorrow.

“That is also exactly my point Psyche Estella! Hay nako ayaw ni Daddy because he wants me to start as a normal and regular employee baka nga kung pwedeng sa factory ako magsimula doon nya ako pagsisimulain. Ayaw nyang sa kompanya ako magtraining because he thinks na mabibigyan ako ng special treatment ng mga tao na makakasalamuha ko. And he doesn’t want that kaya ayon ipinatapon nya ako sa kompanya ni Damon well, isa sa mga kompanya ni Damon.” Naiinis na sabi nya sa akin.

At dahil feeling ko this will be a long night I decided to order na and sundin na ang gusto ni Maureen. Busangot na busangot na yung mukha nya hindi mo na maipinta very far from her smilling and super bubbly face.

“ I ordered some foods na, and your beer para naman sumaya ang buhay mo parang mas malungkot pa ang buhay mo kaysa sa akin na tinakwil na ng Daddy ko,” I answered to her as I sit down beside her.

Maureen smiled happily, yes ganyan sya ka babaw haha! Hindi mahirap pasayahin kaya nga siguro nagging kaibigan nya ako ay dahil napagtyagaan nya ako kahit gano ako kasungit isang beses ko lang sya natulungan noong college tapos hindi nya na ako tinantanan hanggang sa nagging magkaibigan kaming dalawa. Nagkahiwalay nga lang kami kasi andaming nagging failed subject ng gaga nung nagstart sya magmodel.

“Oh thank God! Wait?! What did you say?! Tinakwil ka ng daddy mo?! Is that the reason why you are staying here in Manila for good?!” gulat na gulat na sabi nya sa akin at saka ako hinampas sa braso.

Amp! Napaka mapanakit!

“Yes that is the reason but not mainly the reason nagkataon lang din na nung nagfile ako ng resignation letter sa kompanya, nagdecide si Dad na itakwil na din ako bilang anak nya.” I said to her.

Nagulat nalang ako nung bigla nya akong niyakap na parang bata.

“That’s so sad, maswerte pa pala ako. But you said it wasn’t the main reason so bakit ka nga nagdecide na talagang dito na manirahan sa manila. This place is so far from Cebu and I am sure the environment will all felt different to you but I think that you won’t really have a problem with that you are good with coping.” She said as if it was a matter of fact.

Na pa ngiti nalang ako Maureen always believed in me, not that no one believes in me because they all now my skills and capabilities its just that whenever Maureen says that I am the best and I can do anything she means it, and she’s very proud of me lagi nya nga sinasabi sa ibang tao na she have the best best friend in the whole world.

Natawa nalang ako nung narinig ko dahil bestfriend pala nya ako hahaha hindi naman ako nainformed hahaha
