the goodbye

“She saw us, do you think she knows now, that we are the prophecy of three?” Mason brought out, his eyes still looking towards the direction where Brianna had stood before the fight, a fight that had ended badly for the other party just a few minutes ago, since their Alpha was now floating through the air, leaving him as nothing but ashes. Milo pressed his lips together into a thin line as he slowly nodded his head. “Yeah, she knows. That’s why I think it would be better for me to leave right now. Both of you have a place here. You cannot be missed, but I can. If the three of us aren't together, we might not be as powerful, but we would be safer, in case the council wanted to pull off another stunt to take us and use us for their own benefit.” The young wizard’s heart ached, knowing that now that he finally had found his brothers, his family, he already had to leave them behind again. The thought of doing it, in order to protect them, gave him just the right amount of power to pull through and actually do it, leave them behind. Seb and Mason nodded. They also did not want Milo to leave. Once they had combined their powers, they had truly become brothers, maybe even more than that. “Where will you go?” Seb asked as he sighed hard, not happy with the outcome of these events. Milo shrugged as he looked at the forest in front of him. “See the world? like I always wanted to do. Maybe I’ll be able to find my own mate, who knows?” And Milo smiled just a little, thinking about the girl that has haunted his dreams for months now. Mason walked over to Milo, pulling him in for a brotherly hug. “Link us, if you ever need our help, or just to talk and have some company.” Milo smiled at Mason as he patted him on his shoulder, feeling grateful for finding these men, his brothers. “Will do, bro.” The Alpha had walked up towards the three hybrids, as he was standing next to Mason, his Gamma. “If you ever change your mind, Milo, you are always welcome here.” Milo smiled, looking happy to receive the invitation from the Alpha himself. “I will hold on to that invitation. Maybe in a few years, when the council has forgotten about their stupid prophecy.” The young wizard remembered the spell that he and Karina had cast out, it was strong, but no one could ever know if it would be strong enough to last a lifetime. As long as there was some sort of danger lurking in the shadows, Milo would give his life to protect his brothers. Milo gave another hug to Seb before he gave one last smile and nodded his head. "Well boys, it was fun. Never say goodbye, just a see you later." Before he turned around and slowly started to walk into the forest, before he flashed himself out and his body vanished, sending himself off to Goddess knows where. ------------------------------------------------------------------ The young wizard wandered around the country for days, weeks, months, ending up into two years. As he passed through the country, he met a lot of people. Normal and supernatural creatures. He often found a place to rest for a few days, sometimes weeks, in return for his magical powers. And after a while, word spread about a wizard who helped out packs in need, in return only asking for shelter until he would proceed his journey once again. Milo had been staying inside the Crimson pack for a couple of days, they had a problem with their harvest. They could have easily solved the problem themselves, but it would have taken a long time and a lot of effort. Milo was happy to offer his magical help, as the Alpha gave him a warm room to sleep in and food in his stomach in return. The warm bed welcomed Milo with open arms, since his dreams had become more vibrant with every passing week and month, as the brunette still haunted his every dream, making him crave even more for a girl he had never met before. Milo was sitting in his room, wondering where he would go next, as he never stayed longer than a few weeks at the same place, as the Alpha knocked on his bedroom door. Milo looked at the Alpha of the Crimson pack, wondering if the Alpha needed his help with something else at the moment. But he was surprised, hearing that the Alpha had gotten a phone call from one of their neighboring packs, the Hyle pack. They had a problem that they thought was actually magical, and the Alpha wondered if Milo would go over there and have a look for himself. Milo decided right away that he would leave and go to the Hyle pack. His curiosity spiked, thinking of a real magical problem instead of a human error he needed to help with. So, Milo took his cape and said his goodbye to the Alpha of the Crimson pack, as he followed the given directions and set his way towards the Hyle pack in a matter of minutes. Near the borders of the Hyle pack, Milo was immediately pulled into a hold by guards. Once he explained that the Alpha had called in for his help and the guards' mind linked with their Alpha, getting the approval, they let the young wizard pass as two guards guided him towards the Alpha and Luna’s house. Milo was surprised once he had stepped foot on this land. Magic was indeed present, much of it, it lingered in the air, spiking Milo’s curiosity even more as he could not wait to find out what had happened to this pack. And even more, something inside of him was luring him in even further, as if someone had wrapped a chain around his stomach and was pulling on the other side, dragging him in deeper, closer. Milo was brought to an enormous house, giving Milo the idea that this pack must run very well, if they could provide the Alpha and Luna with such an amazing house as this. And like any other visitor, Milo simply pushed at the doorbell, waiting for the Alpha to arrive at the door. But to Milo’s surprise, not one, but two men answered the door, one with longer grey hair and blue eyes, as the other one had the same eyes with brown spikey hair. Father and son, Alpha and future Alpha, no doubt, the young wizard thought, as he smiled and reached out his hand towards the older man first, feeling that right now, he was still the Alpha in charge. “Nice to meet you, Alpha Hyle. And thank you for granting me passage on your lands.” Milo spoke politely as he stepped through the door, smiling at the Alpha, as his wolf inside of him became restless, which was a first for him, his wolf Bianco was always relaxed, up until, now. He looked around the hallway, and was once again impressed with what he was seeing inside of the house, as the feeling of him being lured in became even stronger, almost unbearable. “I believe you have a problem with your pack members?” Milo asked as he tried to clear his thoughts, making the Alpha nod his head as he waved the man inside his office, which was situated at the first door as you stepped inside the house. The other young man, the future Alpha, followed inside the office as well, his eyes scanning over the stranger standing inside his father’s office, as he tried to find out if this white-haired man was a potential threat to him and his pack. The older Alpha cleared his throat, as he walked around to stand behind his desk, his eyes wondering back to Milo. “It’s not a real problem, but something that we noticed. It seems that in twenty-five years, there has not been one couple of true mates, all chosen mates. It stopped with the mating ceremony between me and my own mate, the Luna. We haven't had any true mates, until my son just recently found his true mate, and it seems that right after that, every wolf inside our pack seems to find them all of a sudden.” Milo nodded his head as he looked at the younger Alpha. “Did you know she was your true mate straight away?” as some ideas had already formed into his brilliant mind. “No, I had a heart transplant.” The young Alpha responded, taking Milo by surprise. “Fascinating.” He mumbled, turning back to face the older Alpha. “Alpha Hyle, can I be frank with you?” The Alpha nodded his head in response, “What do you know about magic?” The two Alphas gave each other a look, they were both clearly not used to magic at all. The older Alpha cleared his throat as he looked back at Milo. “Not much. I know some packs have a wizard or witch to protect them. But we do not.” Milo nodded his head, feeling that that, right there, was their biggest mistake. They left their pack open to potential magical threats. “Then I suggest that in the future, you try to do that, because I believe that you have been cursed, Alpha.” The older Alpha’s forehead frowned, as he kept looking at Milo. “Why do you think that?” Milo smiled just a little, as he looked outside through the window, remembering how he had felt once his feet had walked onto his land. “Because I could feel magic lingering in the air, as soon as I had stepped foot inside your pack grounds. I think someone has cursed you Alpha, and your son has broken the curse. It is brilliant actually. By getting a new heart, he found a way around the curse, finding his true mate and, with that, breaking the curse for the entire pack.” Both Alphas listened, not intervening at any time, until Milo was finished. “I am sorry,” the young Alpha spoke, once he felt like it was his turn. “Who are you? And how do you know all this?” Milo smiled as he nodded his head, remembering once again, that this pack was not used to any form of magic, and he needed to be patient with them, in order to learn and adjust to this fact. “Apologies Alpha, I am a Hybrid. Half wolf, half wizard, and my name is Milo.”
