Chapter 42

Desiree’s POV

We woke up to Anthony’s alarm. I crawl out of bed and go shower. A day of silent treatment should be punishment enough. I came out of the bathroom in Anthony’s robe to go to my room for clothes. Antoine must have left to shower and dress in his room

“Where are you going babygirl?” Anthony asks. I ignore him and open the door

“Desi, please talk to me” he pleads

"I am going to my room for clothes, Anthony" I say matter of factly

“You want me to have an omega bring your clothes here?” he asks

“No, I will do it when I am ready” I say and, went to my room

I dress in my training clothes and link the boys that I will meet them in the dining room. Now that we are marked I can link them. We are not official members of the pack, so I can’t link with anyone else but my mates. As I walk down the stairs, I see them both waiting for me. I walk to go around them but they stop me

“Are you not going to talk to us, Desi?” Antoine says

“I don’t have anything to say to you two right now” I say trying to move around them again

“We love you Desi”, Antoine says with sad eyes

“I love you two too, but right now I am upset about the situation you have put me in. Just give me some time to process this.” I say kissing them on their cheek.

I grab a banana and apple juice from the dining room and head to the training grounds. I did warrior training but no magic training today. The girls and I plan to go to the coven for a day or two to work on our magic. So, after warrior training, I go to my room, to shower and change, because after breakfast it’s training in Luna duties. Then all the ranked females will get together to discuss planning the party for our announcements. The meeting to get us all together to discuss transition plans is tomorrow.

As I walk downstairs to the dining room, I see my mates waiting for me at the bottom of the stairs again. I know I said a day of silent treatment, but they look so sad. I walk to them and give them a long deep kiss

“Are we forgiven?” Antoine asks

“For now, because I know this is not going to be the last situation I have to deal with, but you are my mates, and I am the future Luna of Crescent Lake. I don’t want to deal with it, but I will. I will stand by your side, and we will handle anything together. Okay?”

“Yes, ma’am” they say in unison. I smile at them

And then I hear that voice, Brenda. They are facing me and their backs are to her, so she doesn’t see me yet. Their bodies are blocking me from her view

“Anthony, Antoine; I have been looking for you.” They turned so they are flanking me, and we all are looking at her

“I’m sorry, but I need to speak to the twins alone”

“Yeah, that won’t be happening” I say

“Oh really, they must not have told you, but I am having their baby. So, whenever I want access to them, I get it” she says smugly.

It takes all my willpower not to beat this girl's face in. She really thinks they are going to choose her because she says she is pregnant. Well, she is sadly mistaken.

“No, that’s not how this is going to go. If you thought telling me you were pregnant for them was going to be a shock, new flash it’s not. They already told me. So, the appointment is set up for tomorrow at 10am. They will be there to discuss the situation and view the ultrasound. If your gestational age matches the time frame you had s*x with the twins, additional blood test will be done for basic blood typing. If it is inconclusive on whether they are the fathers of your child, then you will proceed with regular monitoring by the Luna. Antoine and Anthony will only go to a doctor if there is an ultrasound or the doctor requests their presence. They will be at the hospital for delivery but will not be in the delivery room with you, so I advise you to phone a friend. Once the baby is born, paternity testing will be done via a cheek swab. If this baby is theirs, a paternity agreement will be drawn up to include visitation and financial responsibility. The child will be there’s, you will be nothing but the woman who had an illegitimate child for the alphas.” I explain

“No, when I prove that this is their baby. They will make me their mate and luna. You better believe that” she says, grinning

“That’s not possible, Brenda. Because I am their fated mate and the future Luna of The Crescent Lake pack. So your dreams and aspirations will never come to fruition”, I say, pulling their shirt collars to show their marks

“You let her mark you? Did you mark her?" she yells

I just pull my shirt to the side and show their marks

"You marked this worthless b***h? She is nothing! I am better than her! NOOOO, I am supposed to be your Luna. You are supposed to choose me!” Brenda cries

“Brenda, we never told you we would make you our Luna. In fact, we told you that this was just s*x, nothing more. We also told you we were looking for our fated mate and wouldn’t make anyone else our Luna. We were wrong to keep having s*x with you, but we never made you any promises”, Antoine says

“We will see you tomorrow at 10am for the appointment” I say and we walk away, leaving her there crying.

We go to the dining room for breakfast. As we get our food and sit down, Luna Belinda comes to me and whispers “Good job with Brenda”.

As she is about to sit down, all the ranked members get a mind link.

“Rogues at the northern border. I need you to go to the safe rooms with the children, elderly and non-fighters”, Anthony says

“No. I will be by your side, not hiding in a room” I state

“Desiree, please don’t fight me on this” Anthony pleads

“I’m not fighting you because I’m not going. I am a warrior just like you. I will stay by your side, I will be there to protect the pack”

“Desi, please. I can’t have you getting hurt”

“I wont. I promise”

I look over and see that Leticia and Sharon are having the same conversations with David and Wesley. We look at each other and I open a portal to the northern border. We step through

“Yall coming?” Leticia asks
