The Dragon and his Princess

Chapter 4 Life

Going home was not easy , it meant leaving Anna behind but  I knew I would definitely see her again but now getting this cake to Jo as my first priority of the day . Jo's face lid up as soon as we gave her the cake and she deserved it because she is like a mother to us all acpesially to me ."Happy birthday Jo , I truly hope you have a great year and thank you for everything you do for me and my kingdom ,we are the blessed ones". I say making the old woman cry and smile while giving me a kiss on the cheek saying thank you, and Jo might be one of the only people in my kingdom that doesn't need to bow to me but out of respect she still does it but I just give her the eye , and she just laughs it off cutting us some cake while the kettle is still going. 

After eating cake and having tea I made my way to my office to try and get some much need work done because besides me being a king I also have other responsibilities around and inside the kingdom.

My sanity was soon interrupted by my best friend and right hand man Jo." Ok spill the beans!, You my dear King was away much longer then you said you'll be and well I reckon there is a story , and just look at you ,you look like happy ,and that is just weird considering you never look happy ! at all ", Josef says giving me a big smile, just then I start to laugh and I know he knows me to well ."Yes fine you got me ,I sort of found her" I say getting up moving to my window.

"Who did you find ?",He asks walking over to me putting his hand on my shoulder. "Her Josef, I found my mate and your queen ,but it's a bit complicated" , I add , but Josef is so excited saying back " whell where is she and when and how and what is complicated Drake? come on don't keep your best friend waiting now". She's human Josef and the most beautiful creature I have ever seen, and I believe she is the Princess of Greeneden ,I feel the bond and I know she feels something but being human she doesn't know what she feels and I kind off didn't tell her who I am just my name and she didn't even recognize me man " I say sitting back down on my chair with my hands in my hair.

Josef just sighed and sat on the chair infront of the desk looking depressed ." So what's the plan , How will you tell her, you do know that humans don't really like other creatures all that much except if you talk to the King and Queen of Greeneden and if they don't approve you can kill them or give them a choice in the matter making them see why they must agree to give their daughter to you " Josef says making me wonder why the hell I did not think of all this, but being happy to have him by my side ." Yes you are right I need to talk to them but before that she must first get to know my human side better and then Ice .

Drake and Josef finished some paperwork and because they were friends and trusted each other with everything it was easy to go about stuff .The Kingdom was indeed looking for their Queen and the Dragon king Drake being the last of his royal bloodline was a very handsome young king with striking blue eyes , blond hair, strong muscular build and  a fierce persona that also looked for his one true mate and finding her was such a relieve for him and his people and Ice his dragon ,Ice was the last but the most feared  of all and as far as they knew the only dragon left among the dragon people and even if the dragon people does not possess their own dragon spirits they did carry the blood of their forefathers that indeed have dragon spirits in them .Ice is a blue dragon and also a ice dragon ,that is why the name Ice, and besides that , a Ice Dragon having the ability of ice and water which makes him one of a kind. 

Anna (Pov) 

After getting home I decide to go to the library to get a nice book to read , but  was interrupted by my father the King , and the look on his face made me wonder what the hell I did wrong again and these last view days my parents seemed stressed and taking it out on me seeing Erick wasn't here and on his honeymoon ." Anna can we talk ,I have some good news and I do believe you will like it alot", my father says leaving me wondering what can possibly be so interesting to keep me from my book reading. Walking into the library my father take a seat by the old fireplace looking a bit worried." As you know you are soon turning 21 years of age and it's a tradition to hold a masquerade ball  in your honor , so that is what your mother and I decided to do and whell we are also thinking of inviting some of the other kingdoms , like the witches , the werewolf's , The Duke of  the Amber Kingdom and so on......" My father rather say then ask, because he knows I don't like parties and being near people just isn't my thing but being a princess it's one of the many things expected of me, other then dancing with every i***t like that damn duke and talking quiet and bowing and eating with my mouth closed , and don't forget a lady must always make every guest feel welcome . "Father how is a ball with strangers more fun then just us eating cake and having a family dinner"?. I ask getting  mad wanting to just leave, " this is mother's doing ,she just wants a ball so I can dance with that idiotistic , eager beaver of a Duke ,and I don't like him he thinks he is better then me and heaven behold his remarks is repulsing father '!!!!. I hit back not stepping down even though my father is the King. "You will have your ball Anna and You will be a good princess with manners ,you will dance, you will smile and dammit you will be nice to the Duke , he will be a good match and he is one of the most wealthy in our kingdom ,so you have no say in this daughter", " I will leave you to r******w but please try and understand it's for your own best interest , we only want what is best for you " my father says kissing my cheek and leaving me by myself .

This is my live .some days when I sneak out of the castle I feel so free ,free to be just a girl not a princess being promised  to a betrothed that she did not know or in my case did not like at all. Then my mind drifts off thinking of that handsome man almost making me fall at the market today. He seemed so happy and so incheck with himself as if he has no worries at all . I always knew I was meant for something more and being close to this Drake today felt right in some strange magical way , but maybe it's just me still wanting to marry for love and not something arranged .My whole live I have been prepped  to be some man's right hand or trophy but I want to be someone's equal, not saying I would have loved to be Queen but being just as important as they were just like with other realms e.g. the werewolf's and the witches' ,they see their lovers as equals not as just a pretty face with good manners. 

Walking to my room I hope to see Drake again he was fun to talk to, not even giving a damn who I was ,so he is definitely on my most liked people list ,but maybe if he knew who I was he would run like the wind, and being friends with a commoner was not aloud so that will also soon be lost. Making haste I took a bath and snuggled into my bed hoping tomorrow will bring better tidings .
