CHAPTER 34

1176 Words
NATHAN DON’T USE YOUR POWERS ANYMORE “What is happening?” Mother gasps, looking wide-eyed, just like me, at what is happening around us. The earth shakes under our feet as an invisible force starts lifting broken stones and blocks of destroyed buildings, arranging them like they were before. Rubbles are lifted up, sand flowing through the air, drifting towards the building. Broken logs, wood beams, ceilings…everything is being arranged back. My pack is getting rebuilt. “Nathan! Look!” Mother shrieks, pointing to the wounds on her arms that are slowly closing, an invisible hand stitching the edges together, drying up the blood. “It’s healing!” Loud wails of shock and surprise swirl around us, coming from the wounded members. Their wounds, just like my mothers, are healing. Broken bones mending, gashes closing, dislocated parts setting themselves…everyone is getting healed. My members are healing. “This is amazing, Nate!” my mother shrieks once again, looking around us. “The people are all healed!” she grabs my hands. “This is a miracle, son. Did you get the help of a witch to do this?” “It’s not a witch, mom. It’s Jessica,” I reply, still amazed at what is going on. “She did the same thing when we were coming.” My precious flower. The best thing to happen to me. “That’s amazing!” “Yes, it is,” I whisper and start to move through the people, checking them out, feeling their joy. Jessica just made me the happiest alpha on earth. She saved me the time and resources to take care of my members. “Our members,” Declan corrects me. “Sorry,” I chuckle. “Nate!” Alex calls me from behind. “The entire pack house is being rebuilt,” he gushes excitedly. “I thought it was the only place, but this…” he stops looking around. “This is amazing! Even the grasses are coming to life. It’s like the pack is getting a new life.” “We are indeed. Thanks to our Luna,” I say proudly, pushing my chest out. “Jessica?” his eyes widen further. “She’s doing this?” “Remember what happened when we were bringing her home?” He nods, his eyes widening further. “She did! Wow!” he cups his mouth. “You should throw a ‘thank you’ celebration for me.” I stop walking to look at him. “Why would I do that? Jessica is the one that should be celebrated and she will be.” “I made you go to that damn pack. If I didn’t, you wouldn’t have found her…” I groan, shaking my head, ignoring him. “Hey, wait. If she’s using her powers like she did the other time, she could pass out like she did that time, right.” His words freeze my steps. Jessica could be getting weak. “s**t!” I grunt and break into a run for the pack’s hospital. The testament of her powers fill the entire pack as I dash away, but I don’t stop to admire it all. She’s still using her powers and getting weaker I am certain. The hospital entrance is full of jubilant members who are trying to get my attention, but I buzz their links, telling them I will address them all later. At the door of her hospital room, the warriors are still there, alerted by my crazed look. “Alpha?” their eyes dart behind me, looking for the danger coming with me. “It’s okay,” I assure them and burst inside. True to my thoughts, my mate is at the window, surrounded by a little bright light, with her eyes closed, staggering on her feet. I walk straight behind her and grab her shoulders quickly, whispering into her ears. “That’s enough, Flower.” She relaxes into my chest, pulling her head back to look at me. Her blue eyes are sparkling like diamonds. “I haven’t finished,” she says weakly, looking back out the window. “You have done enough,” I grit my teeth hard and hoist her into my arms, taking her back to the bed and laying her down gently. “You are weak.” “I still feel strong.” “No, you don’t. You almost fell down. And that makes me worried,” I jump in beside her, pulling her to me and dip my head down her neck, inhaling her scent to calm my worried self and wolf. We remain like that for a while before she breaks the silence. “Are you mad at me?” her voice is soft and tinged with a little sadness. Peering into her soft blue eyes, that are no longer sparkling, I wonder if I can ever get mad at her. “I woke to see the chaos and thought it would be good to make it look like it was before.” Now I know her powers have something to do with her thoughts. All she has to do is to think of something and it will happen. “Say something. Please,” she holds my cheek with her soft palm, peering up at me with a look that warms my heart deeply. I remove one hand from her waist and pick the palm on my cheek, planting a kiss on each finger. “I am not mad. I am just worried and scared you could hurt yourself if you overuse your strength,” I say softly, pulling her close and burying her face into my chest. “I don’t like it when you pass out. It scares me deeply, Flower. Do you understand?” But I get no response from her. Pulling back, I notice her eyelids are closed. She’s asleep. I wonder what would have happened if I hadn’t come on time and stopped her. Yet, she still wanted to do more. “Ty,” I link my Gamma. We need to hasten our search for her parents. “Nate?” “Any leads on the search for my mate’s folks?” “None yet. Any problem?” “No problem. I just need us to hasten it up. I need to know more about her. She almost drained herself using her powers,” I peer down at her sleeping face. “Yeah, Alex told me. She’s amazing. I will call our contacts to see if they have anything new for me.” “Thanks, man.” “Sure. Are we still going on with the ceremony?” “Yes.” With what she just did, there is no way I am not introducing her to the pack. My pack needs to know who their Luna is, what she has done, and give her the respect she deserves. “My flower, you deserve more than the world,” I whisper, kissing her forehead and pulling her close to me. I am going to stay here till she wakes up.
