Aaron strutted around the circle. “You couldn’t have been that active in the last few years, are you sure you want to do this, Joshua? You should just leave with your little human. Maybe I will keep her after this has been settled.”
I stared at Aaron, I couldn’t believe this was the same man that had been my friend and beta. I had a fleeting thought of, could my mother and sister have been right about Aaron? The fact that he insulated Emma made me want to kill him on the spot, but this had to be done right as the council was in attendance.
“You don’t have to do this, Aaron. We were friends once, we were almost related. I loved your sister.”
