Joshua’s POV:
I walked out of Emma’s room. I spent the whole night just holding her. I was lying in the same position to scared to move, I didn’t want to wake her. My body felt sore and I knew I was going to have to get up. I carefully moved away from her. She moved and I quickly covered her with a blanket. She needed to rest, she had been through hell.
I stretched as I got up and quietly moved to the door. As I walked out, I bumped into Harper and Leo. They were sitting far apart, and the atmosphere felt charged, they wouldn’t even look at each other. Harper stood up and walked over to me. As she did, Leo’s eyes followed her. I could see the longing in his eyes. When he noticed me watching him, he immediately looked away.
“How is she doing?”
