Chapter 11 – The Omega Princess Jonathon took hold of Amalia’s waist and pulled her in for a goodbye kiss, as she entered her lecture. It was only two hours till he would see her again, but the strength of their mate bond, and love, made him miss her every single second they were not together. She had been ecstatic about Phoenix’s revelation that Kitsune were actually a thing and was desperate for more information when they met for lunch. Jonathon smiled as he made his way to his own lecture hall, waiting outside the door for his twin sister to arrive, happy that both her and his beloved mate really did get on so well. Simon stood further down the line surrounded by the ‘cool’ guys of the class, shouting at the top of his voice. “The stupid b***h thought she was better than us,” he bellowed, whilst glaring at Jonathon. Jonathon took a breath to calm his anger at the comments, thinking to himself it was more like a high school, than post-graduate adults at university, and this man-child’s attitude was little more than pathetic and not worth a second thought. “Simon, stop it. Seriously, not every girl in the place is going to fall at your feet,” one of Simon’s entourages exclaimed. “I don’t know why you are so bothered Simon, after all, she may well be pretty, but she walks around the place like she is f*****g royalty,” a girl stated, then looked at her fingers, shrugging her shoulders. Jonathon had to supress a smile, little did they know his twin was in fact royalty, only not the human type. He wondered how they would all feel knowing that little fact, that the beasts of their nightmares were real, and they were surrounded by werewolves, and Phoenix was the princess of the most prominent werewolf royal family on the planet. That comment helped calm down his anger, as he looked over and saw Phoenix approaching. His heart sank, she looked sad, in fact, Carlos was screaming at him, that she was upset and to comfort her. “Hola,” Jonathon greeted her with a smile. “Hola,” Phoenix smiled at him, genuinely happy to see her brother. She had not got a lot of sleep, upset by the news about Ted, and hating the fact she may never see him again. The old vicar meant so much to all of them. Her mind had been filled with memories from her childhood, when he would sit down with the pups and tell them about a naughty cat called Lucifer, who would try and get children into trouble. Then older memories of him drinking Uncle Robin’s whiskey, his laughter and joy infectious. His tales of his travels with Liane, and how she was the daughter he never had. “Phoenix, are you okay? Nobody has hurt you, have they?” Jonathon mind linked with her, worried about why she seemed so sad and unhappy. “I am okay, nobody has hurt me. Just had some sad news from home. The human vicar, Ted, who I told you about, he is receiving end-of-life care. I went back to my pack last night, it was my goodbye to him, and I do not know how long he has left,” Phoenix linked back to him. “Oh, there she is, princess b***h,” Simon shouted, with a manic laugh. Phoenix snapped her head up, looking at Jonathon, wondering if some how her secret was out, and if it was how the hell a human had found out. Reading her expression Jonathon shook his head, to let her know it was nothing other than a b***h-worthy comment, from a man-child who clearly didn’t deal with rejection very well. “Simon, seriously,” the guy from earlier shook his head, clearly not happy with Simon and his childish comments. Phoenix glared at Simon, then, because she was brought up by her mother, who never backed out of an argument, or fight, she strode towards him. “Oh s**t,” Jonathon whispered out, then followed his twin. “Got something to say, dickward?” Phoenix asked Simon, hands clenched into fists by her side as she tilted her head glaring at him. The angry aura was coming off Phoenix in waves, even though she was and Omega, humans would naturally sense danger, with her being a wolf. But add to that, the fact she had been trained by her father, to fight, and had beaten many a warrior in her pack, because of his instruction, along with the sibling rivalry with her Alpha blood brother, the sense of danger was suffocating to those around her, other than her twin. Simon gulped, suddenly afraid as he looked at this girl, who’s green eyes looked like they were turning black with anger and shook his head at her. “No,” he whispered. “Sorry, cannot hear that, your voice has suddenly gone low,” Phoenix growled, as Ava was wanting to rip his head off his shoulders, so now she had to control her wolf as well as her own anger. “N…NO,” Simon repeated louder, his hands beginning to shake slightly, as the other humans watched on, eyes wide at what was happening before them. “Good, because unless you can man the f**k up and say whatever you were shouting about to my face, I suggest you shut the f**k up,” Phoenix growled once more, then turned on her heel and walked back to Jonathon. “f*****g hell Phoenix, even I felt the power coming from you there, are you sure you’re Omega?” Jonathon linked with her, a proud smile on his face. For all her low rank, she was clearly not afraid to defend herself. That made him feel better, that she was not one to just submit in fear if challenged, although he did not know if her bravado would extend to other werewolves, but he got the distinct impression, it probably would. Phoenix and Jonathon walked into the lecture hall, an uneasy group of silent humans following them. “Hey, you know, if you want to, why not come back to the pack with Amalia and me tonight, so you are not alone?” Jonathon suggested, not wanting to leave his sister when she clearly needed people around her right now. “I will not be good company.” Phoenix sighed. “You don’t have to be, but maybe letting Ava out for a run will help a little bit.” Jonathon pushed slightly. Tears begun to prick at Phoenix’s eyes, and she offered Jonathon a soft smile, and nodded her head. “Yes, I think it might.” She agreed. …………………………………… Teo finished off giving Juan his instructions for standing in his stead at the university pack house, as his gamma nodded his head agreeing with all the conditions of him running that part of the pack. “Try and keep your d**k in your pants as well, we do not need complications,” Teo ordered him. “Spoil sport,” Juan laughed out, as Teo gave him a warning growl. “Okay, okay, message received and understood, no shagging the international student wolves.” Juan threw both his hands up in defeat. “Good, the omegas will have your stuff moved, but the warriors must move their own. They are more than capable. Jonathon’s sister will be staying in your suit when she comes to the pack house for visits,” Teo added. “Oooo so the twin gets to sleep in my bed after all.” Juan chuckled. Carlos growled out inside Teo, shocking him at the ferocity of it. Yes, he was naturally protective over his best friend’s long lost twin sister, but his wolf was almost enraged with Juan. “f*****g pack it in, now get ready, you are leaving here by mid-day,” Teo shouted, dismissing him before Carlos appeared and took a swipe at his gamma. After informing the warriors in a group, so he did not have to see Valentina one-on-one, the plans, Teo returned to his office, letting out a sigh of relief. The seductive she-wolf would be gone in just a couple of hours. He could easily lock himself in his office till she had gone, with a message that the Alpha was not to be disturbed. His thoughts were interrupted by the ringing of the telephone, and he picked it up pleased about the distraction. “Alpha Teo,” Elder Franco of the council’s voice rang out. “Elder Franco.” “I have good news, I have approached the other council members, and they all agreed, you should be given the opportunity to find the witness. Therefore, we have informed Alpha Pol, and instructed him to give you permission to visit his pack, in a bid to find the wolf. He has given his authority, but only for three-hours, between 6pm and 9pm tonight. The permission is for you, and the person who overheard the conversation only. I did not detect any deception when I asked the question that he would ensure your safety,” Elder Franco informed him. This was good news, and Teo instantly offered his gratitude. It was good the council had so much faith in him and would help him at the drop of a hat. Plus, it meant he would not have to visit the shifter bar any time soon, which was the icing on the cake. It would take Teo three-hours to get to L’Adou pack, so he would have to set off at 3pm, not returning till around midnight, but it was worth the loss of his evening. Linking with Marcus, the warrior who had overheard the wolf in the bar, Teo awaited his arrival. “Alpha,” Marcus stated with a nod of respect to him. “You are to accompany me today to L’Adou, the council has granted permission for us both to go onto their lands for three-hours between 6 and 9 pm, to find the wolf you overheard and question him,” Teo informed the wolf. “That is good news Alpha, I have some training at 2pm,” Marcus informed his Alpha. “Okay, I will meet you at the edge of the training grounds, pack up some decent clothing and place it in a bag you can carry, so we arrive looking professional,” Teo added, not wanting to have any sign of disrespect when dealing with Pol. He was an old wolf, who did not subscribe to the casual dressing ethos of Alphas or visitors. Teo made his way up to his suite, and headed into the master bedroom, pulling out a suit, shirt and tie. He hated dressing up like this, but needs must, and packed them into a draw string bag, ready for Carlos to carry in his mouth when they set off. Maybe, just maybe he would finally get some answers. ………………………………………….. Phoenix sighed, it had been a long day, her only saving grace from her thoughts was Amalia’s interest in the Kitsune, seeing her friend so intrigued and happy with the information she was able to provide, had brought some happiness to her saddened heart. Both Jonathon and Amalia stood waiting in her lounge as she packed an overnight bag, remembering to add her workout clothes, hoping her brother would train with her this evening. Maybe even in the morning as well. At Crescent moon she had trained twice a day, sometimes three times on a weekend, and since being in Spain she had not trained, even once. Packing up a pair of PJs fresh underwear, a pair of black combat trousers and white vest top, to relax in tonight, plus some denim shorts, and a top for university tomorrow. Phoenix ran to the bathroom to gather her shower kit, placing them into a draw stringed bag. Jonathon had said they would run to the pack once they reached the edge of the forest, and Ava felt excited to be let out for a run. “Ready sis?” Jonathon asked with a smile. “Yeah, Ava is getting excited for the run.” Phoenix smiled; happy her wolf was happy. “For sure, we will show you where it is safe for her to run in the forest, so if you are here, you can still let her out,” Amalia kindly offered. Phoenix nodded her head, then took out her mobile phone. “Two minutes, will just ring my dad, let him know where I am going, in case they try to drop in here and I am out.” Phoenix sighed. “Okay, no rush.” Jonathon smiled, then took hold of Amalia’s hand to walk into the hallway to give Phoenix some privacy. “You don’t need to go.” Phoenix smiled at them. They were all her family now, and she longed for the day her twin would meet her parents and her siblings. Jonathon nodded, and both him and Amalia took a seat. “Hey Dad.” Phoenix smiled. “Phoenix, how is my favourite oldest child?” Zander’s voice rang out, giving her instant comfort. “I am okay, a little bummed out about Ted, how is he?” Phoenix asked. “He slept most of the day today but is still hanging on to life. Liane is with him.” Zander sighed. “Okay, well just to let you know, I am going to Montseny pack tonight, that is my brothers pack, as he doesn’t want me to be alone. I got a bit upset today,” Phoenix informed him. “Okay sweetheart. It is a difficult time; I am grateful you have his support and protection,” Zander answered with a sad sigh, wishing more than anything that he could gather his daughter in his arms and help bring her some relief to the sadness they were all feeling at the moment. “I know, send everyone my love. See you soon. Love you so much daddy,” Phoenix added, whipping a stray tear from her eye. “Love you more,” Zander answered his usual response. Phoenix smiled, hanging up her mobile she turned to Jonathon. “Okay, I am ready.” “Let’s go.” Jonathon grinned in response.
