851 Words
Last night, Marshall Hamilton which is Reximus's father, called the family doctor to come to his mansion. He had been having coughing symptoms for over a month. He knew there was something wrong with his lung and it was getting worst day by day. After the doctor examined him, the doctor said something about his lung but he was too dizzy to even heard what he said. The only thing that he heard was that he hadn't had much time left and he should proceed with his retirement and just rest at home. "Ahaak! Ahaakk!!" Marshall coughed continuously. "You will need some rest, my Supreme Leader." Dr Morgan said to him. Marshall just nodded agreeing to him. The doctor then excused himself from the bedroom. As soon as the doctor went out, Marshall's wife, Marianne entered the bedroom. "Honey, how do you feel?" She asked kindly, putting her hand on his chest as if trying to catch his heartbeat sound. "Not good, Mary. I think we need to talk to our son about my retirement," he replied to her weakly. "Don't be so rush at making decisions, honey. Reximus is still young. He hasn't learned about the family legacy yet. I am afraid that he might be reluctant to this kind of matter," Marianne trying to persuade him to postpone his retirement plan. "Mary, Reximus is old enough. I won't get any younger. He needs to take the responsibility and learn to be a real Hamilton when I'm still around." Marshall still insisted on proceeding with his retirement plan. He started coughing again and his wife didn't have the heart to say anything anymore. She just kept quiet and massaged his chest a little bit as if wanting to reduce the pain he felt when he coughed. After about twenty minutes, Marianne left the room and went downstairs to fetch some water for her husband. When she was out, Marshall picked up his phone on the bedside table and dialled Kennedy's number. Kennedy was his son's best friend and they were together since childhood. Sometimes, he even felt like Ken was his second son. Now, Ken was his son right arm man. Marshall was rested assured when he knew Kennedy now stood loyal beside his son. Ken was trustworthy enough. "Hello, Master. What can I help you?" Ken answered the phone kindly. "Kennedy, I'm sorry to bother you so late at night like this. I have some favour to ask from you." "It's okay, Master. I'm available whenever you need me. Just say it, I'll make it happen." "Please find three candidates that suit to be Reximus future wife. I am going to retire soon. He will need to continue my legacy." "Sure, Master. I'll make it available for you in two days.” "Thank you, Kennedy." *** Marshall Hamilton was the third generation of the Hamilton family. His great grandfather was the Founding Father of Hamilton Military Institute & University also known in short as HMIU. It was located inside the Hamilton Ground. HMIU was a private ground owned by the Hamilton, which not only consisted of Military Base but also elite community residents. The ground had its own university, school, hospital, community areas, court, city hall and many others more. HMIU was basically like a new country for the elite, inside Country H. The Hamilton Ground was surrounded by a high wall that separated it from the normal citizen outside. People who lived in HMIU were considered the best among the citizen. A normal simpleton citizen would never be able to enter HMIU unless they were an expert at something or they were someone important like a politician and scientist. But of course, since HMIU itself had its own residential communities that settled down in HMIU and started their own family, some children were born inside HMIU and they held the citizenship of HMIU. The Hamilton motto was very firm, that is, the best human can only come from great parents. This principle had become the core of Hamilton Legacy. That is, whoever comes into the family by marriage, that person must be someone who achieves something great personally or must have a great family background. As for the one being born as Hamilton, he or she will need to continue the family legacy and become the Supreme Leader of HMIU. As for generations, the heir was always a man. Never female. Reximus was the fourth generation of Hamilton and will soon become the successor of the Hamilton Legacy. There was one strict rule about marriage when it came to the Hamilton. When an old leader wanted to retire, their son would automatically step up to replace the former leader. But to secure the Hamilton bloodline continue to become the leader for HMIU, the new leader needs to get married and his wife must be pregnant within a year. The rule was set in order to secure the next bloodline and the heir to the Hamilton Legacy. Of course, being a Hamilton, the future bride of the new leader must be chosen among the best elite woman in HMIU.
