The Great invasion of the Empire Part 9 Preparation Before Great Siege Capital of Malacca

Sound of bashing and steel was heard on both west and eastern hill entrance, as the two armies clash and fought with each other in heavy tension as each soldier was fighting for their lives as they were serving their respective lord. One soldier fought alone, some fought with their partner, while the rest chose to fight in groups as chaos ensues in the battle, Agus who is the Majapahit's king was seen fighting together with his men boosting the army morale as they see him at their side.

The Bahyang soldier who was with Agus quickly withdrew away from where Agus and currently at least four hundred meters away from the battlefield as they rest, as the soldier currently with Agus was the second line of the Bahyang force as they accompanied Agus to the frontline. As Agus holds his two-handed spear in his hand, Agus is currently fighting in a deadly position that should have not been beyond the reach of his men as they were separated in the enemy line while they attempt to support him from afar and holding the enemy from surrounding Agus from all side.

One such soldier comes close to him hoping to stab and kill him but unexpected for him, Agus who is prepared was also carrying a dagger sheathed on his shoulder which then he pulls from its holder and throws it at the man which was evaded but hit a soldier who is fighting Majapahit's soldier killing the unlucky fellow who has the upper hand right at his neck. In the next moment, the soldier who is fighting Agus was caught off guard and as he tumbles down because of the swift action made by Agus with his spear, then he put his hand on the end of the back spear then turned around before stabbing it directly at the man's chest.

One of the Majapahit's soldiers comes from the rear line bearing a messenger badge on his left shoulder as he running toward Agus, before slightly bowing due to the presence of the battlefield.

"Sir, The enemy is trying to push us back before trying to attack you directly." said the nearby soldier as he relays the message from the main army.

"As expected there is another smart general who is commanding the army, alright push them back before forming up." Agus look at the enemy soldier who is still fighting.

"Understood, sir." as the soldier tried to relay the message back to the army.

As the soldier runs back to the main army, Agus who heard the news quickly withdrew from the battle and shouted to his men to finish their work before returning to their respective formation.

At that very timing another soldier, come running toward him hoping just to injure him but the attack was deflected before Agus jumps back then followed by a counterattack by stabbing him right at his neck as the man tried to struggle to hold down his neck before collapsing to the ground. The other soldier who knew of Agus's skill, disregard his safety as they continue fighting the opponent in front of them as some of them were killed in the process as they were withdrawing together with Agus as they walk away from the battle.

As the enemy was planning to pursue Agus they were greeted by a rain of arrows falling on them a few soldiers were killed in the process and stopping their attempt from advancing, released from the enemy soldier's reach Agus told his men to form up and prepare for the advance back to the enemy once more.

They were not going to advance alone instead, they were accompanied by the soldier led by Patricia which includes sword and cavalry soldier in her ranks because they are a soldier that is recruited into service by Patricia as non-landed lord they have much less number of men than those landed lords, therefore, they are more perfect as support than as the main army.

"Onward and stay within formations."

Advancing back together beside Patricia's men, Agus walk slowly as they battled amidst the enemy infantry furthermore none of the enemies could hold them back in place unlike the main force of the Bahyang soldier they were much ineffective furthermore without blessing, they could surely get some injuries or even losses.

As the battle to the enemy main camp proceeding as few soldiers from the Bahyang soldier was killed although this won't compromise Agus himself, considering it's still sustainable since they have better ability in close-combat moreover in unarmed conditions if someone by perchance they happened in few centimeters they could kill the soldier within swift moment following a slam of that soldier to the ground before stabbing him directly at the abdomen or the chest.

Yet throughout the battle such an encounter was high since many of the enemy soldiers died not because of being stabbed right on the battlefield but they died after being staggered as they were launched to the ground before being executed without a chance to counter.

Amidst little resistance, each enemy soldier was broken as they escaped toward the wood either with or without any weapon on their hand which then overlooked by the Majapahit's soldier as they were assumed to be harmless as they march through the fallen soldier furthermore those fleeing enemy soldier.

Arrow after arrow showered simultaneous on the army but it did not seem to flinch them one bit as it was unable to penetrate the shield they raised on top of their heads as they march slowly approaching the enemy main camp before abruptly an attack came from their rear but either expected or not but the Majapahit's soldier previously aware of the enemy potential assault therefore second before the charge the formation stopped before divided into two smaller formations while the rear engaged the enemy ambush troops.

Wherever the ambush commenced by the Malacca soldier failed poorly as they rushed straight into the recently assigned and well-prepared shield wall formation as they run directly crashed against it, causing losses solely to the Malacca's army instead of wreaking havoc to its assailant and at the same time reinforcement arrived from where Patricia currently located as they come to help a counterattack.

Eliminating additional attack, both Majapahit army attack with a fierceness nevermore before as they strike to the very last men exterminating any hope to retaliate, which in turn breaking other nearby Malacca's soldiers who are watching from the sideline as they decided to surrender not wanting to be killed by the Majapahit soldier.

As the prisoner held seized some of the surrendered soldiers from Patricia were sent to take them as well the recently established foreign legion as they tried to convince the captive to join as few were happily convinced as the rest remained brought back to the rear supply base which is outfitted with the jail facilities. The policy for the prisoner interaction was at least three-minute maximum none were authorized to associate with the prisoner more than that unless the monarch or someone directly assigned from the monarch to interact with the prisoner to decrease any chance of a prison breakout.

Returning to the battlefield on the Malacca's land, Agus was accompanied by Patricia's soldier as they were informed of Van and Ash's failed attempt to intercept the Malacca's retreat as Agus give a new order for the other allied armies to regroup on top of the hill at the same time siege engine such as moveable shield and ladder as they wait the other to arrive.

"They sure have a quick foot... I hope they are that afraid are they?" said Agus as he looks at the leftover massive footprint on the ground.

"I imagined they were a tough opponent but after losing so many battles it can't be helped they are scared of losing or even dying," said Manser before closing his eyes in sadness.

"Indeed perhaps they do, perhaps they do," said Van casually.

"Sir, The enemy already departed from this place at least half an hour ago." said one of the men from Ash's men after crouching on the ground.

"As expected, they already heard the news thus they immediately run back to the capital in rush," said Van.

While the Soldier from Malacca also open their mouth well some who are still loyal are refuting such a statement as they speak in a small voice.

"This is? unbelievable, are our empire this weak..." said the captured soldier.

"They ran in the face of the enemy?" said the other captured soldier.

As their face and head turned ashen white before turning red in embarrassment.

"No, they could take cover on the next location... maybe." said the captured loyal soldier.

"Yes, that may be true... they could also be taking a strategic withdrawal. Yes, that could be it."

"Yes, that is possible there's no way they could run away against the enemy, right."

As they believe the army was not running and was trying to convince themselves but the truth is even worse since their face was turning to ashen white, while some did not open their mouth as they are correct to consider the Malacca had received great losses by escaping to their Great Capital.

As the Majapahit had gathered on the top of the hill while some of the soldier that was not tired given a command to cut down the nearby trees to build a siege engine such as the ladder, battering ram, and the wooden shield as most of the blueprint of such device was designed by Agus while he already discusses with engineer and War general as all of them had accepted design with open-minded as it most the advanced design of what they currently have.

The siege engine has designed by Agus was a mixture of the various culture he once studied started from the early age of the Roman empire to the medieval time as he was what most would call a fanatic historian during his high school days, he always been staying in the librarian either during recess time or after school and even most of the time he would talk to his teacher discussing about world history either on Asian, The European, The Middle East, and the American Continent.

Agus's enthusiasm is a lot more than most people were much more than the teacher expected that they get nervous around him then started distanced themselves but after some time have passed the teacher started getting weary around him and even some of them started to consider resigning as they couldn't handle it anymore which become problematic for the school while few of them lost contact and never heard ever again.

His mother was called to the school, the principal was going to tell his mother of the problem but as he about talks about it he was dumbfounded by her mother's charisma and tried to change the topic and that very event keep repeating itself until his graduation.

All of his classmates look at him with a bit of contempt as they thought of him as weird and also an oddball but because of his reputation of no trouble, good grades, and was the top champion of the martial art club which did not become of his problem on his social life as they also respected his achievement.

Unlike other kingdom's siege engines created by the hand of NPC and Player of another kingdom, Agus's Siege engine was made by some the tree root near the hill since most of the material has an elastic and rubbery feel to them although it was no better than modern-day rubber and plastic object which could replace the rope, the Teak wood would be used as the main body for most siege engine such as Siege engine or the wooden shield and last and not least the bamboo would be used as an extra shield or expendable shield.
