The Great invasion of the Empire Part 10 The Night before the Siege

The siege engine is slowly being made but unexpectedly as its finish, the machinery has a much better look than the design than one of the officers ordered for the engineer to try to operate it but surprisingly it works well as intended and continued to test it further for three days long.

The other officer supervising each separate part of the Siege engine as he sees no fault was found on it as every part of the machinery worked as intended, the officer then give thumbs up that the prototype phase had passed and can enter the mass production phase which follows many make-shift workshop tent forming up from one area of the camp to another as many sieges engine is being prepared for the siege warfare.

With the Soldier constantly getting busied helping the engineer by carrying the needed materials from the forest the progress of the siege engine production speed up much faster than before thus the siege could begin at any moment depending on particular order from Agus as the troop rest in each of their tents.

As the moon rises high in the sky, Agus was waiting in his command tent as he looks at his general and planning table alternatively as his general talk about the siege plan as they discuss it one by one. at first, the plan was good but it was not solid as it has one small but discernable flaw as one of the generals points it out as he also gives his idea not so different than the first.

As the General still discussing and points out the flaw continues till midnight as Agus rather leave the camp and walk to the mountain as he searches for fresh air leaving his general with themselves when he arrives one soldier was taking a sip of alcohol on it before noticing Agus approaching him and it was Ash as he was looking out nature.

"Sir... Want some of the drink?" said Ash.

"No, it's fine I was just taking fresh air out here as I was expecting no one else would come here also no one else will come here, right?" as Agus look around.

"... most of them already went to sleep while some of them already out and carried back to the tent." Ash pours down the alcohol on the two cups near him before he grabs one of the cups and sips from it. "Ah, that would be good if it wasn't then there would be much hassle if that happened." Agus also take one of the cups and drank it.

This is unexpected... this is a Herbal drink? Honey and Ginger, perhaps.

"Good reaction... very good one, no need to look more surprised it is what you expect 'Jamu' you know that right?" said Ash as he chuckled a bit at Agus who is confused. "You even guess a few of it right, it also has egg and milk added on it" he added.

"Oh, that's good my body was always been sore recently." as he was moving his arm a bit to exercise. "Oh, then this one for you it's an Herbal recipe from my family try it," said Ash with a smile.

"Okay then." at first Agus look at the cup as he wonders what ingredient is mixed on it before his lip comes close to the edge of his cup and taking a bit of sip from it. "Hmm, this must be Kuyang Ginger, Sour turmeric, and betel since it has a bitter taste on it." as he tries describing the ingredient.

"You have a good taste bud, I must tell you it also contains ginger and nutmeg," said Ash as he sips once more from his cup. "It's the same recipe never from my family's, heh?" Ash notices something from behind Agus but he ignored beside downed his cup before cleaning the place up.

As Ash finish everything's up he quickly leaves the place only Agus still on the place as he was looking at the star in the night but he remembers Ash's behavior

Agus who is bewildered by Ash's behavior and turned his head to his back before he was surprised by the sudden appearance of a hand closing his eyes from the hand, it appeared to be a woman's hand but he got an idea who it is since it was a bit rough on the hand but a voice was heard revealing the person in question.

"Guess who it is?" the voice giggled a bit.

"... I thought who else it is, Foxy" as Agus downed the entire content on his cup showing an indifferent tone toward his summon. "Ah, you got that right... yeah, it's me." she released her hand from Agus's eye.

"You got everything else... I guess you got everything else then

"Well, I did deduct it from your personality who did want a place that had many crowds for you to rest also you always in love with the place which got a good atmosphere which then leaves only this place which had that kind of atmosphere." as she looks around her before finally eyeing at Agus's cup which he was holding.

Noticing Foxy's gaze, Agus move his hand which is holding a cup, and quickly throw it on the ground and broke the cup to pieces as he knew Foxy's personality he'd rather break the cup than being imagined doing something perverted with and by this fox since on previous game, he played before once during the night this perverted fox once tried to sneak on to his bed but was discovered by him which in turn infuriated him.

Remembering such an incident even though he always showed a friendly side on the outside toward her, he was constantly on the alert remembering her action thus every time he played a game he always drinks an energy drink he could get even though the taste was something he dislikes the most never get a single wink of sleep as she acts more like a p*****t than a lover.

Either it was expected or not Foxy's eyes only follows the cup as it breaks but she did not seem to move a single muscle and she only showed her sigh on the broken cup as she looks at Agus which makes him a bit nervous, Foxy gazed at Agus as she also opened her mouth turned serious.

"Master, here is the intelligence I gathered from the Malacca capital city following your specified order," said Foxy as she hands out the paper from her waist.

"Agh... thank you get some rest and good work," said Agus as he grabs the paper.

"Thank you for your praise, may I stay here master," said Foxy as she sits down near Agus.

"... ah, yes... you may," said Agus as he looks at the paper but staggered a bit as he glances at foxy sit near him before Agus return to reading the paper.

At first, Agus's face was normal as he examines the content of the paper but after turning to the next paper he turns dumbfounded a bit before a smile was seen on his face at the same time he stands up and walks back to the command tent as he was followed by Foxy to inform the general about the current situation occurring on the Malacca's capital.

The general was discussing fiercely as many of their plans has many flaws thus stagnated without any progress happening but it changed after Agus barge into the command tent as many of them stopped and turn their heads toward Agus who is carrying a stack of paper before he put them on top of the table.

At first, they were confused about where did their lord get the paper from but Agus opened his mouth to clear the confusion.

"Many of you is confused I believe, this is a paper that comes from the recently created intelligence corp I once made to infiltrate the enemy capital during the early day of the invasion. The data gathered mentions many revolts that are currently occurring in the Malacca empire which is a bit unexpected but the data also mention the city which we assumed to be the capital were the largest trade city hub on the island," said Agus as sigh in regret.

The general was shocked by the news but they also understand what do Agus implied.

"I will lead the attack on this large trade hub and after that, I hope the Field Marshall will continue this entire campaign after I left and this person is..." As Agus pondered for a moment who he should select.

The command tent stood silent as no sound was heard if one would whisper in the smallest sound it could be heard clearly by everyone on the tent, as one of the people gulped in anticipation who will be selected as the Field Marshall.

"Adam," said indifferently by Agus as he looks at Adam.

"Huh?" as everyone was surprised by the mention of the name including the mentioned person.

"Why me?" he also said it himself.

"Unlike others, you always stayed on the battlefield and look at the something odd and based your judgment on it at the same time Foxy here also saw you going out to finish the job which is a leftover by the other general to the letter," said Agus as he points at Foxy with his thumbs with half of his eye opened.

"Un" as she nods in agreement.

"Then next thing I would inform that is the enemy supposed to be Emperor was resting on that very city as such I demanded an entire blockade on that place either on the land or the sea to cut his chances of escaping," said Agus as he looks at his general in understanding and arrangement before he opened his mouth once more.

"And I want this war end by the root before our neighbor kingdom before making a problem for us later on, Who are they? Well, who else, it's the Sunda Kingdom." as he looks at Adam right in the eye.

"Yes, Understood I hope this war end as quickly as possible," said Adam as he put his gaze on the table.

"Then anyone disagrees with the arrangement," as he looks to the people on the command tent.

"None My lord, we also want to appoint him as one." said one of the general.

"Yes, I'll also agree." said another general.

"Great then here's the plan then," said Agus as he laid out the plan as each general has pointed out.

One hour has passed as the strategy meeting has started.

"Good, get some rest we will start the siege tomorrow morning.

"Yes, my lord." everyone shouted in unison. "Good, dismiss," said Agus.

Everyone who heard the order slowly goes out from the command tent as each and everyone was silent and quickly walk to their tent while Agus walk to his camp but he was uncomfortable with Foxy's presence near him, but unexpectedly as he was about to enter the tent she said she has a business to attend to so she will be unable to join him to the tent.

Surprised as he also suspected her act but he will allow it as tomorrow will be the day where the siege starts, as he lays on the sleeping bag he closes his eyes as time goes faster it already dawn by the time as he wakes up he quickly put up his medium-sized armor which is made of iron which also mixed with leather skin (medium armor) then he grabs his spears and walk to the front of the tent.
