Zach groaned while clutching his head. It had been such a busy night and he should have thought before consuming what felt like gallons of alcohol. He couldn't think straight obviously with the way his friends were screaming at the top of their voices and chanting his name to chug shots. It felt as if he was in college all over again. He blinked his eyes open, while trying to remember the events of the last night but when he heard a soft moan his eyes split wide open and he slapped himself when he noticed that it was some beta he picked up in the bar last night. If his parents arrived and they saw this they would definitely be disappointed and he didn't want to start his day with their lecture about being responsible. He already have them enough over the weekend. He poke the shoulder of the beta trying her to wake her up. She slapped his hand away and took her time to open her eyes and let out a loud yawn. He rolled his eyes and backed away, resting his back against the soft pillowed headboard. He felt relieved that at least he was in his house. "Good morning" The beta smiled at him to which he huffed and shook his head. Zach literally had no time to be pleasant and exchange morning pleasantries with someone he slept and was regretting it already. "Yeah alright but you need to get out right now" He said while his eyes fell on the digital clock besides the bed on the night stand and he felt tension rising up and pricking at his skin. He did promise his parents to find a suitable bride and stop screwing around. That lasted two days, before he just went to the club and picked this beta. "Wow you are charming in the morning" She snorted while picking up her dress from the floor. "Why thank you. You can easily find the door" He said while getting up and sighed when he noticed that his trunks were still on. "Seriously you are not going to even ask my number or pretend to be interested in me?" The beta questioned while turning around and wrapping her arms around her waist. He let out a sigh. This is why he doesn't like to stay after the s*x because there are always tremendous questions to answer. "Let's make it easy for both of us. I was drunk and I am seriously not interested in you. So now can get out?" "You really are an asshole" She spat while collecting her clutch from somewhere near the foot of the bed and he wanted to laugh at that because he had been called worse than that. He doesn't really care anymore and it doesn't even bother him what others think. "Yep and you still let me f**k you" He laughed as she turned around. He wanted to add her name in the end of his sentence but he couldn't even remember it. "Fucker" She stormed out of the room. He growled at that and turned towards his washroom. *** Lucas Moretti was the only man who still held powers over his pack Alphas and everyone feared him. His father was never the one to take peoples s**t and was always firm in his decisions. He wanted to retire from his office so that he could take care of his deteriorating health. It was true that wolves can heal themselves but as they age the capacity to heal deteriorates. His father was having the same problem and the additional stress was not good for his health as the healing power was focused to reduce his stress. The day Zach offered his father that he would take over gladly and manage the company his father growled at him and asked him to be more responsible first. He knew that his father wanted him to settle down and have pips of his own so that you would get the true meaning of responsibility but he didn't want to be strangled with some stupid Omega who cared for his money rather than him. He already dated those in high school. Zach moved his chair closer ignoring the creaking sound. He should definitely replace his furniture or the floor. He was glad that his mother cooked the breakfast. "Did you talk to your sister recently?" Lucas asked turning towards him while pointing the fork in his direction. Zach shook his head because he barely had time to even talk to his friends. "Of course you didn't. Work is all you care about" His mother sighed while biting into her avocado toast to which he wanted to roll is eyes. Any parent would be happy to see that their child was working and progressing but not his. Maybe because of the fact that they were already loaded and didn't want him to work as much as they wanted him to find a mate and settle down. "Maa" He drawled while giving a look to which she just shook her head and focused on her breakfast. "But why are you asking this? Is everything alright?" He asked suddenly a bit concerned. His sister lived across the town but most of the time she could be found in the pack house giggling around with other omegas or teaching her daughter wolf skills. "Everything is alright Zach. She just wanted us to remind you that her daughter's christening is next week. You have to be there, remember?" His father questioned to which Zach nodded his head. Actually had completely forgotten about that. It had been a long time since they talked about wolf christening. "Yeah alright. I'll be there" He mumbled while stuffing his mouth with another forkful full of eggs benedict. His mother looked a bit repulsed at the way he was gobbling the food and gave him a warning glare. He was hungry because of the the hangover he was experiencing so he couldn't be blamed. "You just don't have to be there. You have to do some work being her favourite uncle" Ariana reminded him to which he raised his eyebrows at his mother. "For your information I am her only uncle." "Whatever. You are going to go to some of our friends and invite them for the christening." His father interrupted before his mother could reply to his response. From the corner of his eyes he could see his mother not going along and emitting a soft hum. His eyes widened as he heard his father and blinked them several times waiting for them to say they were joking and laugh it off but it was not in his father's nature to joke about these certain things. "Are you serious? I am not going to do that. It's such a waste of time and effort. We could just email them all invitations. Use technology dad" He said with a big smile on his face when he noticed that his father let out a chuckle and shook his head. "You don't think I know that? But it's your niece christening...I want them to know that we are doing our best. Besides emailing everyone is such a lazy thing to do." "I agree with your father. It will be a good chance for you to see other omegas and maybe you will find your mate." His mother piped in with a glint in her eyes to which he narrowed is eyes at his mother but she just gave him a innocent smile in return. Were they seriously trying to set him again? It was tiring. It's not his fault that he still hasn't found is mate. It's not like he was willing to so maybe that's why he wasn't finding. But he did not tell his parents that, they would definitely freak out and instead ask him to marry some Omega they choose. "Oh for moons sake. Will you both please stop doing that? Besides I have work to do." "No you don't. I have already called your assistant and ask her to cancel all your appointments for the next week. You are going to do as we say Zach." His father said using his Alpha voice which his mother shivered and he felt a bit bad for her but she deserved it for agreeing with his father. "It's not like I have a choice anyways" He huffed while angrily stabbing at his legs to which his father hummed. "Good... I already prepared the list and sent you the message. The invitation cards are already on the table in living room." Zach didn't respond instead kept his eyes focused on the food just to irk his father. He knew that he hated it when someone ignores him. "Oh and also please start with Romanos. I would love to meet my best friend after so many years. Hmm?" Zach stilled. It's been years since he thought about them. Since he thought about her and he was not going to risk it again. But looks like he has to. ***
