A Mission already

After our hot make out session, I sat Nino down so we can actually talk about everything. I was surprise when Nino didn't talk back and he obey me as we were now sitting at the island while he cooks us some stir fry.

"What do you want to talk about ma?" He said as I watch his back muscle flex as he cooks.

"I need a new everything."

"What you mean?"

"I can't be Ashanti anymore since I'm with you Nino. I got to erase myself and get a new life basically." After he place the cover on the pot he turns to me giving me attention.

"You sure about this? I got a connect that can hook you up."

"Yes, I'm sure about this. My family is out there looking for me and I can't let them find me so easily you know." Nino nods his head as he crosses his arms in front of his body.

"What name will you give yourself then?" He questions me. I think for a second and I'm stuck.

"I'll get back to you Nino."

"You know you can call me Noel." He said after a while breaking the silence.

"Why?"

"Since we together now, and I trust you." He looks me dead in my eyes.

"I don't think..."

"You don't think what?" Oh lord he's getting mad.

"Nino."

"Noel."

"Okay, Noel baby we just literally got together in 24 hours. We have a lot to talk about..."

"There's not really much to talk about..."

"Yes, yes there is you lied about everything..."

"So you say you don't trust me?" I sigh deeply. I didn't want to argue with him not when we just got together to put a title on us. Nino goes back to the stove angrily to finish what he started. After a minute he shuts down the stove and remove the pan to let it cool down.

"Do you trust me?" His voice is loud and clear with hurt behind it.

"Yes, yes I trust you baby, but it's just you haven't told me anything about you that I can say I know you. When I saw Ruby and she called you son, my heart hurts you know that you lied to me about your mom being killed."

"I'm sorry it's just I'm not used to people knowing my business and my enemies could be anywhere listening."

"So are you going to tell me something about you?" I ask him with so much hope behind my question.

"Soon, alright? And you call me Noel when we're alone alright?" I nod my head since I don't want to force him and get into an argument. He brings our plate of food to the island with a juice carton out the fridge.

"Do I have to go back?" I wanted to know would I have to go back to stripping. Don't get me wrong, no niggas have tried to touch me, probably because of Nino.

"Yeah, you are." I drop my fork.

"Why? You embarrassed by me or something?" I'm not going to lie; I did get offended when he said I'll be returning.

"It's not even like that ma, I don't want anyone knowing about us because I feel like something going on. It's heated and I'm trying to find the nigga who's causing it." He said. Okay, I understand now.

"Okay, have you got any evidence?" I ask him and he shakes his head.

"I've been feeling like it's someone close. I don't tell no one about it because it could be them. I don't even tell Eli my own best friend about it because I'm so paranoid." I grab his hand massaging it giving him some comfort.

"Do you want me to help?"

"No, if anything were to happen to you, I don't want you to know to much information so that you'll be able to walk out without nobody trying to get you."

"Okay. What do I tell Sky and everyone that asks about us?"

"Just say you were getting some d**k from me and that's it. Those hoes will believe that." He said shrugging his shoulder as he took a bite.

"I'm happy that you save those girls from the streets and brought them here. Sky loves her job." He chuckles loudly while drinking his juice.

"Sky, is a crazy ass b***h. I'm surprised she hasn't made a move on you."

"She did, but I turn her down. She likes holding my hand when we walk though." I told him as we both laugh.

"Why did you let Eli take you out like that? You trust him?" Whoa, talk about personality change. He got serious so quickly, but I knew he was going to bring it up.

"Noel, there's something I need to talk to you about." I told him as I grab both our empty plates and walk over to the sink. Noel walks behind me and place both his hand on either side of me, trapping so I can't walk away from him.

"What is it?" His voice got cold and distant and I hope after telling him this he won't go crazy. I turn around with the little space I've got and face him with my eyes staring directly to him.

"Eli..."

"Eli what?" He cuts me off.

"When he came to pick me up, he was in my bed sleeping when I came. I caught him staring at my ass when I went to go change in the bathroom and when he gave me the shot to sleep while in the car heading your way I heard him say beautiful and gave me a kiss while I was beginning to sleep." I finally told him. Noel stared at me with a heartless look. His muscles begin to flex and I didn't take my eyes off of him to show any signs of lying. He steps back, cursing under his breath.

"You positive that Eli..."

Noel is cut off from the sound of the door opening and he immediately grabs a knife from the drawer getting ready for the intruder.

"Yo Nino where you at?" Eli voice is booming through the house and Noel instantly calms down a bit. I grab his arm, forcing him to me to tell him don't do anything crazy please.

"Damn, my bad I can come back later if ya'll need some more time." Eli said, walking through the living room with his eyes on us.

"Naw, you good we were about to get dressed." Noel said.

"Alright, cool I got something to talk to you about." Eli tells him and they both look over to me, giving me the signal to leave.

"I'll be in the room, Nino." I made sure to use his name so Eli won't get suspicious. I head on upstairs opening the door loud so they can know I'm not close so they can talk. After shutting the door, I head into the bathroom to shower. All I can think as I shower is what the hell Noel is going to do with Eli when he confronts him. I don't have no problem going back to the strip club, because Noel will be watching niggas out for me.

Noel and I are finally getting somewhere and for that I'm so excited for our journey. I can't believe I made a risky choice of leaving my family and starting a whole new life without them. I know I've caused them pain, and I'm being so selfish right now, but how else can I finally accept me without being judged?

I got out the shower forgetting that I didn't have any clothes with me. I walk over to Noel drawer looking for a shirt and his shorts to wear while waiting for him. I stumble upon a box that was underneath his bed as I walk towards the bed. Curiosity got the best of me and I pulled out the box and remove the cover.

"Wow." I pulled out a small dark navy gun, which must be a pistol to be exact. I didn't hear Noel come in as all my attention was on the gun I was holding.

"You like?" His voice scares me and I drop the gun into the box.

"You scared me. Eli is gone?" I ask him to change the subject. He shuts the door and walks over to me sitting at the edge of the bed. He looks lost in his thoughts as he stares at me.

"Yeah, he told me some updates about our shit." I nod my head not wanting to pry anymore.

"You know I believe you ma."

"What do you mean?" I said.

"I believe you when you said Eli kiss you and s**t, but I need you to do something for me." He said.

"Sure, what is it baby?" I said, sitting next to him.

"I need you to get close to Eli for me."

"When you say get close to him you mean..."

"I just need you to get some information from him or snoop around..."

"No! I can't he already kiss me, so that means he would want me in bed and not friends. I won't do it Noel please."

"I think it's him..."

"That's it you think! You think, you think and you think. You got to be more confident Noel so if I were you, why don't you send a random cute hoe over to him and check it out."

"It's not that easy. Eli won't f**k a random hoe or get emotionally involved with a hoe, because of the hoe part. He actually wants love."

"So you want me, we just got together and already you want me to flirt with Eli because you THINK he's the one behind whatever it is that's going on?"

"I know what I'm saying Ashanti, and that's what I want."

"You have got to be kidding me!" I yell raising my hands up in the air.

"Look just talk to him like a friend and try to get information out of him. Matter of fact, I'll wired you so I can listen in. How about we do a test trial and see if I can pick up anything weird from him talking. If he's not the one after the first trial, then I'll stop and make it up to you, okay ma?"

What killed me about this conversation was the fact he was serious. He really wanted me to do this. He wanted me to talk to Eli and get information out of him, when I barely know the nigga.

"How the hell am I going to get answers from him?"

"I already got it set up. One of my homeboys is hosting a little formal party at his house. I'll bring you with me to the party. Eli is coming also and he's probably going to ride out with us. I'll probably make up an excuse and say I'll be right back and leave you here with him, and there you can start questioning him and I'll be listening in."

My eyes are wide from his plan. The fact he already thought of a plan made me shock. I have never done this, set someone up to get answers from them. When Noel asked me will I stayed alive for him, I didn't expect to get a mission out of this, a dangerous mission where it's life or death. I thought I was just his ride or die chick where if he's locked up I'll just pay the bond and get him out. I honestly thought that was my position in his world.

"I know you can do this baby." He assures me.

"What if I can't get answers from him?"

"Then at least you tried for me, that's all it matters ma."

"Okay."

"You know I never told you how beautiful you look with your new makeover and tattoo." He said smiling at me. I forgot all about my new makeover actually.

"Is this a way to sauce me up so I can do your dirty work?" I said laughing.

"No, never that. It's just your new makeover had me going crazy when you perform on the stage that night. You know baby, everything I put you through from the beating to the clinic and to the strip club you so f*****g strong and I love that about you. My mom would call me back then and tell me how much you'll pray about everything." I didn't know what to say to him. I sent him a small smile over to him, which he returns eagerly.

"I'm just surprised you still want to be with me. My mom told me I don't deserve you, but I don't care what she's said I want and need you ma." He grabs the back of my neck, bringing it swiftly towards him and my heart once again begins the beat of love and I melt into his lips as we begin to kiss passionately.
