Chapter 20: Enlighten Me In the President's Office. In the quiet and spacious office, there's a man standing uprightly and elegantly near the glass window. He wore a custom-made black suit and kept his hands inside his pockets. He looked down silently on the ground outside. He was like the King who was monitoring his people's movements. Just like the crowded people and vehicles passing-by, no thoughts were running on his head. He was so calm and composed. Nobody couldn't find any flaws in him no matter how closely they observed him. There were plenty of papers and documents piled on his table. But because of his genius mind, he finished all of them so early. At the moment, he was like a statue in a corner. Only there to add the beauty of the surroundings. Three consecutive knocks were suddenly heard at the door and it was pushed open without him answering. "You're here." The cold President only spoke when the person who arrived finally stood behind him. "The thing that I asked you to investigate, how is it? What did you find out?" The other person sighed heavily which made the cold President frown and look over. "Arthur Jose, how is it?" Arthur Jose sighed again and shook his head. "You won't believe this. Even until now, I found it hard to believe that this would happen." Chen Lei narrowed his eyes and turned around to face him. "What exactly did you find out?" Arthur Jose just stared at him, reluctant to speak. "Arthur Jose, speak." Arthur Jose closed his eyes and took a deep breath. "It's her." Chen Lei subconsciously balled his fists. "Who?" Arthur Jose gave him a 'don't pretend you don't know in front of me' face. Probably someone else would believe him if he pretended not to understand what he was trying to say but Arthur Jose was different. Arthur Jose had been with him for so many years. They could be considered confidants already. So whatever his mood and his thoughts, Arthur Jose was clear of it. So it was impossible that Chen Lei didn't know who he was talking about. Arthur Jose was also clear that no matter how he exposed him, the cold President wouldn't admit it. So he handed the brown folder to him. "Look at these photos. I retrieved them when I checked the cctv's near that restaurant and I found out that your son was almost kidnapped. The person who saved is her." Chen Lei went through the folder and his eyes darkened the moment he got a closer look at the photos. The photos were so clear but even though it was blurry, he could still recognise who the woman was. "So it's her. What a coincidence. No wonder she–" He abruptly paused, refusing to let the other person hear his thoughts. "Interesting. Oh right, where's the kidnappers?" "Don't worry about them. They had been caught by the police." "Just being caught?" Chen Lei's eyes turned darker and colder. "Bail them out and settle them. You must know that those who tried to harm my son don't deserve to stay in this world anymore." "Noted." Arthur Jose nodded. "But, is that what you only care about? What about her?" "What's about her?" Chen Lei innocently returned the question to him. He closed the folder and tossed it on the table like a worthless object. "You don't care about her? She is back." Chen Lei raised a brow. "Should I care about her? How is it related to me whether she's back or not?" Arthur Jose's face showed a sign of frustration. He walked closer and met his eyes. "Young master, I know you clearly. I know you still have feelings for her. Why—" "You're wrong." Chen Lei interrupted. "It's been so many years. That woman is no longer important to me. The one who owns my heart is no longer her. Remember that." Arthur Jose feigned a smile. "Alright. Let's say she is not related to you anymore. Then what are you going to do with your promise to your son? Since you don't wish to be related to her anymore, why don't you stop your son from meeting her? Should we call Allen and ask them not to see her anymore?" "Why should we stop them?" Chen Lei smirked mysteriously. "It's actually great if they meet." "What are you planning to do again this time?" Arthur Jose felt no good with the rare smile of his master. He was not sure why but he sensed that the other person was scheming something. Chen Lei patted his shoulder. "You don't have to worry. I know what I'm doing. Just do your own work." Chen Lei turned his back against him and sat on his seat. Arthur Jose walked fast and leaned on the opposite side of his table. "Stop what you're planning to do against her right now. You will only hurt yourself." Chen Lei lifted his head coldly. "Are you teaching me?" "Yes. Young Master, you may just think of me as your secretary. But I am also your friend. I don't want you to suffer once more so I can't just sit aside and let you do things that will ruin the both of you. Tell me, are you planning to take revenge on her?" Chen Lei furrowed his brows. "Why did you think so? Am I that obvious?" "I knew it!" Arthur Jose turned around in anger but faced him back. "Young master, do you really think by doing this you will be happy?" "What do you think?" "You will not! Not ever!" "Why? Enlighten me." Arthur Jose pointed at his heart. "Because she is still there! She has been there and her position never changed. You can't deceive me." Chen Lei's eyes turned sharp. "Arthur Jose, don't you think you're getting too far?" "I don't care. You can do what you want to do to me. It's just right to tell you that you're wrong this time. Extremely wrong." "What's wrong about it? Arthur Jose, my mind is clear and I have never been wrong. So don't stop me from my plans that related to her. I'm telling you this right now. I'm not giving you the right to interfere with whatever identity you use to face me." Chen Lei took a deep breath. "I still have a lot of things to do. You can go back now." "Young master!" "Arthur Jose, enough!" Chen Lei called out his name in a warning tone. Arthur Jose shot him another upset look and then stormed out without further words. Chen Lei pretended to read the documents in front of him but when Arthur Jose was completely nowhere to be seen within the perimeter of his sight, he closed them back, steepled his fingers and rested his chin on it, eyes narrowing sharply. "Not taking revenge? Huh, shouldn't she deserved to experience the pain that I am suffering?"
