In the lobby of the police station.
Geneva stood when the handsome police came over after settling the kidnappers in the prison.
"Thank you for your hard work, Lieutenant." Geneva said with a smile. "If it's not for you, we would be in trouble right now."
Lieutenant Jasper Joaquin was originally upset for her reckless actions, especially as she was wounded because of it. As a woman—delicate and powerless, it was her mistake to charge on the rushing car and forcefully kick the window.
Initially, the kidnappers were not worried about her appearance but due to her shocking strength that really broke the window of the running car, they became cautious. For fear that the woman would ruin their business, as she was trying to grab the window off, Brother Thunder pulled a gun and shot her.
Geneva was almost unable to dodge the bullet that was aiming right on her head. Good thing she noticed it on time and was only hit on her shoulder, reasoned for her to dangle like a monkey on the car with one hand.
Lieutenant Jasper Joaquin shook his head. "Are you alright? Should I send you to the hospital?"
"No need, Lieutenant. I'm fine." Geneva smiled as she spared a glimpse on her shoulder, showing her pair of deep dimples and the impact of them made the man mesmerised by her beauty. "The doctor in this clinic did great treating my injury."
Lieutenant Jasper Joaquin planned to scold her, but seeing her smile again and again that was as bright as the sun and as sweet as sugar pasted on such a fairy-like beautiful face, he swallowed back his words and his countenance turned gentle.
He glanced at the little thing who was silent and composed the whole time. He secretly admired the little thing's noble personality and he couldn't help but think that this kid was a son of a wealthy family.
The little thing was fearless, cold, and calm. Not only that, he was also distant and looked untouchable. And given his very young age, he could easily make others feel the air of superiority around him.
The little thing wore an expensive and famous brand of clothes— blue collared shirt and denim black pants. He was also cute and handsome, and there's no flaws on his smooth and soft white skin.
No wonder the kidnappers took him out of coincidence because of his looks—fresh and wealthy.
Jasper Joaquin sighed silently. "So Miss Sanchez, how are we going to settle this kid? He neither spoke nor wanted to leave your side. We can't contact his family either."
Geneva looked down at the kid who was next to her and coincidentally the kid looked up at her. There's no expression on his face, but his clear eyes that she found familiar softened her heart when he and hers met. She also developed a selfish feeling of not letting him go.
She raised her hand and gently ruffled the little thing's hair. She smiled at him as she noticed a trace of reliance in the eyes of the kid towards her. "Don't worry Lieutenant, I will take good care of the kid until he is willing to speak. He must be traumatised because of the incident."
Jasper Joaquin nodded. "Very well then. I will feel assured if he is with you. Please call me when you need something. In return, I will call you back when a family comes here to look for their missing kid."
"Then we will trouble you, Lieutenant."
"It's not a trouble at all." Finally, the Lieutenant smiled back. "This is our job."
"Then, I won't hold you back anymore." Geneva offered a handshake and the man accepted it. "We are leaving. I think the kid is hungry. I'm going to take him somewhere to eat."
"Okay. Please be careful."
"We will. Thanks Lieutenant." Geneva smiled gently to the kid and stretched out her hand at him, implying to let him hold her hand.
The little thing blinked his eyes innocently as he stared at her then slowly down to her hand. His fists balled on his sides and his face flushed.
Geneva witnessed such small details but she didn't expose him. She let him decide whether he would grab her hand or not.
The little thing was feeling shy inside. He looked up at her again only to see her warm smile.
He gulped. Though feeling shy, he slowly raised his hand and held her pinky finger.
Geneva smiled. Since the kid held her hand, she boldly initiated to interlace their fingers which surprised the kid and his face became even redder. "Let's go and grab something to eat."
The two grabbed a taxi and in just a few minutes, they were brought into a restaurant that was neither expensive nor lousy but famous because of its cleanliness and mouth-watering dishes. Even wealthy people were often in the place.
When the two entered the restaurant, they immediately attracted the attention of the customers and staff. Their beauty and elegance made them admire the two.
Without their knowing, a staff member brought out her phone and sneakily took a picture of the pair. She immediately hid her phone when the two suddenly turned over, afraid to offend them.
Due to that, only the kid's image fits clearly in the frame. As for the woman, it was blurry. As if a strong wind flashed fast through her face.
Geneva immediately went through the menu as they found the right corner to dine. She ordered two dishes for herself and then handed the menu to the kid who sat opposite of her. "Darling, what do you want to eat?"
The kid just stared at Geneva. He didn't say anything and do anything. He just simply stared at her. As if afraid that if he blinked, she would disappear and would never see her ever again.
Geneva coughed and retracted the menu back. Since the kid refused to talk, she just ordered the same dishes for him.
While waiting on the food to be served, Geneva read the magazine and ignored the intense stare of the kid towards her. Since he was unwilling to speak to her and she felt embarrassed with his stare, she chose to read and let the time pass.
After several minutes, the food was ready and the waiter was on his way to serve the food. However, when he was about to place the food on their table, a glass of grape juice slipped his hand and it was poured directly on her lap.
Geneva flinched and she stood right away. The other customer watched over while looking at the waiter with disdain. As for the waiter, he knelt down and kept apologising.
Geneva shook her head and held the man up by his shoulders. "Please get up. It's just a juice. You don't have to kneel before me. I can wash it in the washroom."
The waiter kept his head lowered. "I'm really sorry Miss. I- I-"
Geneva waived her hand and interrupted him. "I said it's fine. You can go back now— Darling, just stay here. I will go to the washroom for a while."
The little thing just blinked his eyes in response, looking lazy to reply to her. As if her business wasn't related to him. However when Geneva was gone, his cold eyes turned murderous as he cast a glance at the direction where the waiter exited.
…
In front of the entrance of the airport, Allen's face became gloomy as he looked at his watch. The five minutes was over. In fact, he has been counting down the time she was late again and it was already fifteen minutes more.
"f**k! This woman is cruel." Allen tightened his grip on the luggage and gnashed his teeth. He adjusted his spectacles and smiled in order to hide his irritation and embarrassment.
He shook his head and chuckled softly. "You fool, you should not hope for something impossible. She won't change."
Allen pulled his luggage. He was ready to go when his phone vibrated. Though upset and disappointed, he excitedly took his phone out of his pocket, hoping that it was her. When he got a clear look at the message that popped up on his screen, his eyes widened in shock. "What the hell? Why are they together?"
