Chapter Twenty Five

''Where the hell is she?!''Amelia muttered urgently as Gail led them up to her room.Luke rushed to Zero's side once he spotted him on the bed.The latter was still writhing in pain,sweating profusely as he drifted in and out of consciousness.

''L.....uk..e''he whispered out,his voice hoarse and croaky.Luke nodded,squeezing his hand.

''Save your strength,brother. I've got you and I'm not going anywhere..''Luke replied,wiping the sweat that had pooled on his forehead with a cloth proffered by Gail.William and Amelia exchanged an uneasy look at his words.

''Luke......''Amelia began when he interrupted,his voice low and full of so much pain and worry,it crushed her.

''Why won't you help him?Like you helped me.....Maybe if we took him to the Hospital....''Luke muttered though he knew for sure that all his suggestions were not possible.He'd seen how edgy she'd been back at the mansion.She was aching to help but for some reason she couldn't.

''I'm afraid this is beyond a Mortal's help......I could try to alleviate the pain but that would only make the aftershock way worse and possibly kill him....I am so sorry.''She replied,watching as his shoulders sagged in disappointment.Silence engulfed them all albeit Zero's pained groans and heavy breathing.William looked out into the open windows,his mind straying to His Master.If she didn't hurry......

''For chrissake!Where is she?!''Luke shouted,turning to William as if sensing his unease.He shook his head,about to give a swift reply as he always did when he felt her.She came through the doors seconds later,her gaze solely trained on Zero.

''I'm here....''she muttered,heading over to the other side of the bed as she took off her gloves.She could feel the intensity of his power,its heart stopping energy engulfing.It was a wonder Luke could still be in the room though he could already notice his labored breathing.He was quite peculiar and she was sure she wasn't the only one who noticed it as she stared at Amelia's worried gaze trained on him.

''He needs to leave.Right Now.''Reina said,directing her gaze to Luke before moving into the closet for a change of clothes.

''The Hell I do!I am not going anywhere without my best friend!''Luke shouted,getting up to follow Reina into her closet when William appeared suddenly before him,stopping him in his tracks.

''Listen to me Lucas,What's about to happen is not something that you'd want to see and Zero would want you to witness.I gave him my word that I'd make sure you're safe and I cannot do that if you stay here for you are mortal.You will not survive if you stay in this room much longer so please,go...''Reina replied,appearing from the closet clad in woven checked pajama shorts and a long white t shirt.With an exasperated sigh,Amelia stepped forward,placing her hand in Luke's.

''Please,Luke....Come with me.''Luke turned to her,the warmth coursing through his veins once more.He had no idea why he felt that way.Or why he trusted her as he did.He made a mental note to ask as he went back to Zero's side and squeezed his hand.Amelia glanced at Reina,a secret message being conveyed between them.She was to be careful and also not f**k it all up for the consequences were too dire.She only nodded her acknowledgement and turned away once Luke spoke up.

''You gave him your word that I would be safe.And I am.Now I want you to give me your word that he'll be safe.''

''On My Honor,Lucas.Now go.We don't have much time.''Reina said urgently,ignoring William's stunned look.She knew he knew that she was taking a big risk.They both did.But they knew too that it was either her or he was dead.Amelia vacated the room first with Luke following reluctantly behind.William paused at the door though,glancing back at her.

''I'll be fine.I promise.I just need you to keep them safe and keep him out until it is done.''she whispered lowly,sure that the hesitant William would be the only one who'd hear it.He simply nodded before proceeding to close the door.Wasting no time,Reina got on top of Zero,straddling him as she secured his hands with a belt she'd grabbed from the closet and had been hiding from Luke's line of vision to the bedpost.She could faintly feel his pain,being as she'd she'd shut him out from her but the proximity was beginning to wear the effects off.He writhed in agony,his senses kicking in as he immediately tried to buck her off him.She held on tight,smirking as she did.

''Oh no you don't.''she muttered,ripping his clothes off leaving him with his boxer briefs only.She watched in wonder as his skin tingled,the marks beginning to appear on his impressive muscular torso as well as the rest of his body.

''I guess its time,Mr Black.''Her eyes turned crimson and began to glow just as he stopped squirming in pain,his eyes glowing white once he opened them.It was then that the silver power appeared,poring through him in riveting waves that radiated through the whole room.It was truly beautiful to behold.Just as she'd imagined it.Never had she witnessed the transformation of a Hunter for it was a sacred affair,shared by two Helmurrin's. Guardians and Docent of the Transformation.They were believed to be born with the bond,finding each other through it for it reached deep within them.Without each other,they were as good as dead for the transformation was a powerful process that could not be done by one who did not match the power of his Helmurrin.

But Zero was completely different. She could feel his power seep through to her,burning its way through to her inner being.Hurriedly,she closed her eyes and willed her Energy to appear too.She could feel the burn seep deeper and deeper in and she knew she had to hurry.If not,it would kill her for she was not a Hunter and his inner being could sense it no matter what tricks Zachary had tried to pull.Opening her eyes once more,she smiled slightly at the sight of her Crimson energy as it merged with the silver energy.She placed her hands which were now marked as was her body on his chest,gasping as the full extent of his pain hit her hard.He really was stronger than she'd thought.The marks spread up from the point of contact on his bare chest and up her arm.She increased her energy once Zero groaned,making it easier for them both to bear the unbearable pain.If only he'd been able to be linked to a Helmurrin,it wouldn't have been as painful and as excruciating......She panicked slightly once he began slipping away from her,no doubt from exhaustion.

''Come on,Zero.Fight with me!''She closed her eyes,concentrating all her energy there as the beautiful energies mingled and formed a beautiful sight around them.She could the energy sip through her but she struggled and held on,sure that the end was near.Her thoughts strayed on her feeding in the morning and smiled,making a mental note to thank William for if she hadn't fed,she wouldn't have survived all of it.She felt him convulse one more final time as the end phase began.The intensity of the pain built but she held on,biting down her lip as she reminded herself that she has experienced worse pain.

At that same moment,suddenly,the light went out and the convulsions stopped entirely.She looked down at him,a ghost of a smile spreading across her lips.

''Well done.....''she whispered and with that,she passed out right on top of him as the exhaustion took over.......
