Alan POV
She just hugged me and cried in my chest but she wouldn't say she loves me.What's stopping her?I decided not to pressurize her and stayed silent.
3 Months Later
I was doing well and so was Stacey.Only the bad news was,John recovered too.I felt like the night when Stacey was kidnapped,something happened which I did not know about.
Is that related to Stacey not confessing her love for me?
Things were normal.I called James over for some time together.He should be arriving any minute now.I went and sat on the living room waiting for him.
''Hey!" James screamed and rushed into the house.
"Hey James,sit down." I told him and he sat beside me.
''How are you doing man?" James asked.
"Good.Just keep an eye on John." I told him.
"Yes,both mine and your men are on it." He said excitedly
''James,do you know about the night Stacey was kidnapped by John?''
''I know everything." He joked.
"I feel like something happened that night between Stacey and John.Something I don't know about.I have a strong feeling that Stacey not confessing her love to me and the thing that happened between John and her are somehow connected."I lowered my tone and said.
''You mean they had--" James spoke.
"No,James!I am serious."
"Okay man.You know what? I think you are just overthinking and I will still investigate the matter.By the way,where is your little girl?'' James asked.
"She went to the super shop to get some things she wanna eat."
"Is your apex on it?'' He laughed.
"Yes."
Stacey POV
I bought many things from the store and I enjoyed the time being alone.Staying home all the time was a sickness and thankfully,Alan let me go outside now.I introduced myself to his Apex team and it was always a pleasure meeting them.
I returned home.The guards opened the door and greeted me.I went inside and saw James and Alan sitting together and chatting.I smiled at Alan and went to him.
"Hi,James." I waved at him.
"Hello,Ms.Black." He said.He was always onto jokes or something.He was indeed a very happy person from the outside but he carried a huge rock in his heart and so does Alan.
"Did you enjoy?'' Alan asked as I sat on the opposite couch.
''Yes I did.Your Apex boys are really cool." I joked.
"I told you not to talk to them." He said in a serious tone.
''Someone's jealous." James joked and I laughed too.
''They are really good,Alan.I mean they talk a lot and their stories are hilarious." I said to him.He looked at me without any expression on his face.
"Unlike you.You stay silent for literally the whole day.You barely even talk to me."
"He is an introvert,don't mind him." James said as he winked at Alan.
"You are a good man,Alan." I said as I patted on his hand and went to freshen up.
I came down after a while and saw James leaving.I waved at him and stood beside Alan.
"How are you?'' I asked him.
"Fine." He never answers to me properly.I hugged him and said,"Will you not have your dinner?''
"Not hungry." He replied.
"You should eat." I said as I pulled him towards the dining table.
"You eat.I think I'll head to sleep." He said.
"Eat something.At least take a bite of something before you sleep.I don't want to lose you again?"I said.
"When did you lose me?" He asked
"I almost lost you.If you are gone,I'll be alone again." I said.
"You won't lose me." He assured me.
After having my dinner,I headed back to sleep.John Black was recovered,it can happen any day,in fact any moment now.He gave me a date,it was 19.I don't know 19th of which month but tomorrow was 19th of November.I really hoped nothing will happen tomorrow.
Whatever happens,I will have to betray Alan eventually.So,I went to his room to kiss him one last time.
I didn't knock as he was sleeping.I just directly went inside.I placed a small kiss on his lips,hoping he would not wake up and he didn't.
I came back to my room,heartbroken.I decided to write him a letter so he knows what to do and my reason behind betraying him.I took a piece of paper and started writing everything that was on my mind.
