Chapter 03 – The surgery went well
Keelin’s POV
I carried her to her chamber carefully without removing the arrow. My physician examined her wound and asked not to remove it with bare hands. There’s no exit wound, but it was deeply carved into her shoulder flesh and almost close to her shoulder bones. The physicians recommended that it needed to be removed through surgery.
“Do whatever you want, but I want her alive!” As soon as I kept her on the bed I warned my medical team.
“King, we will do our best, but….”
“I am not here to listen to your buts” I pulled the head of the physician from his collar and showed my fangs to him.
“I don’t think you want to taste the consequences. Do your duty!” I pushed him away.
They quickly surrounded her bed. Until they examined her thoroughly I started to roam around her chamber.
A strange feeling came to my mind when I saw her chamber.
Her chamber was different. All the princesses of the kingdoms I captured so far had a different taste. Most of the time their chambers were color-coded with pink or mixed with pink and yellow or red. The interiors were screaming for the luxury life of the princess.
Her chamber was different. There was nothing special there was nothing called luxury to be seen. Her walls were hung with varying types of swords and only one large framed painting of a woman. I guessed it was her mother. I heard that there was no queen in the kingdom. I was a little surprised to find that her chamber was a simple humble room that I had never seen before and I didn’t expect this from the princess of Druvell. On the other hand, nothing could be seen that she was getting prepared for her wedding.
“Don’t just look here and there, you should look about our mate!” I was interrupted by Blaze.
“Blaze, don’t be a puppy. The medical team has been involved and they will be taking care of her” I was irritated by his mate thing.
“My king. The princess needs to undergo an immediate surgery. We need to prepare the room if you give us permission” The physician came to me when I was going to walk towards the large round mahogany writing table in her chamber. I looked over his shoulder at the calm figure lying on the bed. Her face looked pale due to blood loss.
“Perform the surgery as soon as possible. Take whatever you want, but do not involve a single person other than your team. I don’t trust anyone!” I clenched my jaw.
He bowed to me and left the place. I walked towards the writing table where dozens of papers were scattered all over it. I took one piece of paper in my hand and it was about some expenses for her wedding. She has put a huge red cross all over the paper implying she cut all the unwanted expenses here.
A laugh escaped from my lips when I saw what she had written at the ends of the paper. Use the above amount to feed the children of the kingdom! I lowered the paper and looked at her.
She is different! This is going to be fun when she wakes up!
“Alpha. Your Highness!” It was my Beta Fenris presented in the chamber.
“What is it Fenris?” I deeply inhaled.
“The king, I mean the father of the princess, and the fiancée asked permission to see the princess!” He walked closer to me and said.
“In which part these people don’t understand that no one is allowed to visit her?” I clicked my tongue.
“Prepare for the surgery, don’t start it until I come!” I opened the large wooden doors of her chamber and before I splashed my feisty nature out I said to the medical team.
“We want to see Princess Theodora!” once I walked out her father and the young man said.
“Thank the god whoever you are worshiping for leaving you not killing for disobeying. No one is allowed to see her! I hate repeating the same thing” My voice laced the irritation at seeing the young man.
I don’t like him!
“Neither do I” Blaze replied for what I thought.
“She is my daughter. I have the most right to see her” King’s fatherly voice with his teary eyes was able to give a tiny c***k to my stone heart.
“Only you can visit her for five minutes. Fenris, make sure that the former king of Druvell leaves within five minutes” I lifted my chin a little in pride when I said the word former king. Fenris bowed to me and opened the wooden door behind me for the former king Ruben. The young man who was in front of me was about to walk inside with King Ruben and I pushed him away giving him a smirk.
“I think princess was having only one father. I allowed it because they have a blood relationship”
“She was my fiancée! We were at the altar by the time now if you didn’t interrupt and bring this war!” He raised his voice on me making my eyes enlarged. My nostrils flared and my every nerve started to fill with lava-like blood, boiling me from the inside.
“Say another one time that you were her fiancée and I will make sure that you won’t see the sunlight of the next minute!” I squeezed his neck and he started to struggle to breathe.
“Your Highness. It’s time for the surgery!” Beta Fenris came out with King Ruben.
“Make sure that little worthless human left when I come out from that chamber or else I will make sure that I will keep my promise for him” I clenched my fists by looking at the weak prince who was trying to catch his breath.
“I will leave now. Don’t think I was a coward to leave my fiancée. I will come back with my forces and make sure you suffer” I turned around to make him quiet forever.
“Sire, the medical team needs you. Every available minute matters to save the princess’s life”
“Listen to your Beta, he is intelligent more than you think” Blaze made me stop by killing the young man.
“I want two things to be confirmed when I am coming back out. First, this spineless man should disappear from the kingdom, and second, all the preparations to claim the Crystal Throne”
“How dare you? The throne comes from the family. I will never allow an animal to sit there” King Ruben said in a tough voice.
“Very well. I can stop the surgery and let your daughter die. You can sit on the throne…”
“Don’t do anything, I will prepare the papers needed for the coronation” His voice was laced with loss. I knew that betting on her daughter’s life would be the easiest way for the surgery.
I entered the chamber and shut the large doors. The medical team was ready to start the surgery. I pulled a chair and sat folding my arms.
Actually, why am I doing this? Why do I care or value her life? Was it actually because of the advantages of keeping her alive or was it….. I didn’t want to think further about this. I slept with enough women in my life, she is also another woman. As soon as she wakes up, she will die to sleep with me.
“Keelin, I think you should change the way of thinking about our mate!” Blaze connect me with the mind link.
I didn’t bother to reply to him. Time went fast and it took two hours for the surgery.
“Your grace, the surgery was done” The physician came to me and informed me.
“Was it successful? How long it will take to gain consciousness?”
“The next twenty-four hours are crucial. We will be monitoring her closely” I nodded my head slightly.
“Fenris, I want high protection over the princess’s chamber. Give priority to this matter until she recovers”
“Alpha, I will put Gamma Ordan personally to protect her. Your grace! Your mistresses are here!”
I deeply sighed stood up from my seat and looked at the silent figure of the princess lying on the bed. The medical team left the chamber as soon as they finished the surgery.
“Let’s see what you’ve got when you wake up!” I drew a straight line on her forearm to get mating sparks all over my body.
