Chapter 31

1341 Words
Andrey was sweating profusely, he staggered towards Dave who was still crushed against the invisible school bus that had dropped on him.  "I should have gotten him by now," he mutters to himself.  "My entourage had carried a bus earlier, I had just commanded it to stay in the air so, at my direst hour, it would throw it towards the child.  The timing couldn't be more perfect, I need to recuperate from my injuries," Andrey kept sweating as he began panting.   "I am losing quite the amount of blood, if I don't call my entourage now, I will pass out, it should have found a suitable vessel for the next stage of my plan." (An instant later) His entourage which was high in the air levitated over to his position.  There was a first-aid box hitched at its back.  It dropped it on the ground as it began removing several materials from it, it began working on Andrey's body hastily.  Stitching his injuries and applying ice-pack on the places where he had fractures.   It forcefully attached the places where he had dislocations. Dave got up from the ground, he was bleeding profusely as he pants slowly.  His entourage materialized at his right-hand side.  He was restored to optimal health.  Andrey too was healed as he got to his feet. (His entourage healing and fixing him up was invisible so Dave was unable to see what had transpired.) "You said you were a doctor before," Dave begins.  "Every entourage simply does as commanded, it's your entourage that has been treating your injuries and tending to you.  If I am to take a guess, it probably has a first aid kit or something with him, I can sense your movements from the amalgam of seismic activity underground," Dave began walking towards him.  "It won't just be enough to give you a few injuries, I have to render you unconscious." "That has been your aim since," Andrey had a cruel smile on his face.  "But you have been failing, that seems to be your thing, don't it?  Even though you are the Crescent Primordial, you have limited experience and training.  You can't compare to me who even worked as a Medic for the army." "Experience has its limits," Dave circled him.  "Everything does, that's why everyone has a chance to win at anything, I am just going to have to find your limit, that's how I will win." "Are you reasoning winning?" there was a mocking tone in his voice.  "So because you can heal yourself, you think you will win.  Well, you will eventually be weighed down since my entourage can turn objects invisible, I had made several objects around here invisible." "You forget something," Dave grinned.  "J isn't the only one with an eidetic memory, I too have," Dave ends as he slides down.  There was an invisible truck before him so he had slid underneath.  He jumped on an invisible refuse bin before landing on the ground.  Now, he was about 1.5 meters away from Andrey.   "I know you are right in front of me," Dave begins.  "I know your entourage was so busy turning things invisible that it didn't have time to carry you after you were patched up.  Also, I can sense your weight." Dave's entourage dashed to where Andrey was as he began to punch him vehemently. Dave heard the sound of a knife approaching him from behind, he time-skipped, and immediately, he appeared in his new position.  He saw Andrey right in front of a figure who resembled him(Dave) perfectly.   Andrey was different somewhat, he was partially immersed in his entourage.  Andrey stabbed the figure's forehead with a dagger, the figure had then collapsed to the ground. Dave looked at the collapsed figure, it was then he realized he was floating and his body was somewhat transparent.   He floated over to Andrey as he tried to hit him but his fist just passed through.  It was then that it hit Dave, that figure which took an uncanny look was him.  He had been stabbed with a dagger to his head, and his soul was floating above. "It's as I said earlier," Andrey smiles cruelly a he looked at Dave's dead body.  "The difference between a child and a man is experience.  You have no idea what I had seen on the battlefield, I know how the human mind thinks.  I am a doctor and as expected from proficient doctors, I should watch my weight, and also, I can infer the weight of anyone by just mere looking.  When I realized you were using some sort of seismic activity from the ground to sense my body.  I knew it could only be due to my unique mass, also, you were unaware of how someone partially immersing himself in his entourage enables him to bind with it, though it greatly diminishes the offensive capabilities.  My entourage immediately it had crushed you with a vehicle had traveled around 15 meters looking for someone with my exact mass and coincidentally enough, the person it found looked exactly like me.  I had brutally injured the person, I had an inkling that your observation regarding seismic activity was also able to sense the action of objects so my entourage was playing doctor on the fake me while I was already partially immersed in my entourage.  My plan worked as you fell for it beautifully, now, the second stage of my plan, I saw your time-skip activity, the only thing your ability does is skip you from your present positioning to the positioning you shall attain in a certain time frame which I am guessing is five seconds by my observation.  That's why when I saw you going after my fake, I first threw a knife at you, I knew you were going to initiate your time skip at that moment but before you could, I had already stabbed you as you were currently distracted by what you thought was coming from behind that even though you had horned your reflexes, your mind was so distracted and focused on the time-skip that for a brief moment, your reflexes were down.  The instant before when you wanted to do a time-skip and you time-skipped, I had taken my dagger and put it where it belonged; your head.  Your body is more than important for the ritual, all I have to wait for is Boris to bring J's body from space." "J, that's true," Dave thought to himself while still floating in the air.  "I have got to find a way to help him, there's nothing I can do now, I am gone but Hendrickson and Max aren't yet clinically dead, J can still save them." Dave thought as he flew upwards as fast as he could.  When he was about to reach the Earth's atmosphere.  An overwhelming force pushed him back sending his body hurling towards the ground.  Dave crashed against the ground vehemently, he was shocked but he was even more astonished when he saw Andrey's body frozen on the spot.  Dave moved over to him, he was frozen even though he had his miasma cloak on.    When any entourage-user put on their aura cloak, it would appear as if time had paused for everything around them but it wasn't, just that their perception had been adjusted to the speed of the entourage but at the moment.    This wasn't mere time slowing down or anything like that.  Time had stopped for everything and he was the only one who could move in the realm of the stopped time. 'Or so' he thought as a rift suddenly opened up in the space above him.   Dave was amazed as he looked at that rift.   Coming from it were weird-looking creatures.   They were about four human-like creatures that came out, they all had horns spurting from their heads, on their forehead was a shape that perfectly resembled his crescent birthmark.  The creatures all had the same eye color and they were roughly about 200 cm tall.
