Chapter 1. El Cantaria

All the people I thought in this bank were the victims slowly turning into ashes, indicating they were not human. Like the gust that soared through the sky, Lincoln and those five men vanished. They left me standing still with heavy eyes until I lost my balance and fell to the floor. Godfrey’s POV “Don't show up, Almighty Fledgo!” I thought, panicked. I couldn't voice the words, though. My lips throbbed as I strived to speak like I was cold. I am currently hiding in the right corner of the main chamber, surveying how Victoria aimed so much to summon our Almighty Fledgo. I knew she desired to be the most powerful vampire in our realm. She wanted everything, even if it led her to be cruel. Victoria is considered the ravenous and envious vampire in El Cantaria. That is why she is determined to kill Amber. But despite her zeal, she was still the one I could rely on—the only vampire in this monarchy who knew me well. Watching her silently, she knelt on the floor in front of the bloody sculpture. "Almighty Fledgo, this is calling from your servant. Show me yourself." I shook my head at her, endeavoring to think of anything that would stop her, but all I did was stare at her until Fledgo gradually revealed himself. With his black eyes peering out from his swarthy complexion, Fledgo is the ancient vampire from the Royal Blood. He was the Lord, who only showed himself when someone summoned his dark spirit to ask some query. "Who is the most powerful Siduxio Vampire?" Victoria inquired. "You are, Victoria, but not for long." Those words prompted her to stand up, apparently dismayed. "Why not? I killed Maldiv, the deadliest foe in our history. Would that be considered mighty?" Silence prevailed throughout the entire surrounding until she spoke again. "Please, tell me the truth. I didn't ask to show up for a nonsensical answer." "Nothing is fictitious in every word that I stated. Godfrey is the powerful vampire in our monarchy. He is the only one who can kill the Hybrid, and everyone knows that, including you." "B-but why not me?! I thought I was strong, and you said that!" her eyes were intense. "Yes, you are, Victoria. But the fact can not alter. You may be the fastest bloodsucker and strongest vampire in terms of slaying. Still, Godfrey is the transcendent of all," Fledgo elucidated while Victoria was aggravated by what she heard. So am I. "Stop trying hard on yourself, Victoria. As time passed, his strength would accumulate after drinking the blood of the Hybrid. Although he's not weak, it'll make him even more robust." She swallowed hard as she heard those words while endeavoring to hold back her tears. "No! Godfrey is just like the others, and I'm better than him. He is weaker than me. Besides, Godfrey can't destroy the Hybrid!" "It takes a lot of time, Victoria. You still have a chance to convince Godfrey; to kill her. I know you've seen pictures of Amber, but let me tell you that images are completely ineffective. In the human world, she's just a simple girl living in the house by the railroad with her grandfather. She doesn't have fangs yet; she didn't even transform into a wolf. But the thing you must know about her is that she's the pernicious and most dangerous opponent of Siduxio Vampire." In a blink of an eye, Almighty Fledgo disappeared. Those last words he said left a profound mark on me. I was left standing still and bewildered. I couldn't believe the one I trusted the most was who betrayed me. How could she ever do that when she knows how badly I ought to kill Amber? And I must do that to bring back the life of my mother. Victoria was left standing still with her uncompromising eyes. I knew at that moment that was what she'd been lingering for. This was the opportunity she had been dreaming would arrive; to become the most powerful vampire; to destroy the ancestors of wolves in the entire Berganza, especially the magnificent Amber. The girl who lives in the human world is known as a hybrid, but I don't fully know her. Werewolf-vampire hybrids are the most potent undead creature as they have the power of both elements merged, particularly when they're beneath the luminous moonlight or the full moon itself. And that is precisely why no one can stand against Amber aside from me; that was according to Almighty Fledgo. And I don't have any clue until now. Victoria was about to close the door, but I quickly showed up, forcing her to halt as if she didn't expect me to be there. "It's unethical," I uttered, eyes disappointed. "It's unethical to cast betrayal on someone who knows nothing but trusts you." "Your Majesty... y-you heard everything?" I strode toward her and stared directly into her eyes. "I tried so hard to understand you, Victoria. When everyone belittled you, I was there. I release the power within you, the power you deserve. Now you have wasted it on nothing but greed?!" I questioned with my eyes full of resentment. "Like, how narcissistic do you have to be?" "I-I'm doing what's best for you." "Is taking my throne the best idea you can do for me?" "I-it won't be easy to believe, but you must trust my words. Please give me the privilege to do it," she begged as if it was the easiest thing. "There's nothing good with this, Victoria. So please, don't lead me on!" I shouted with fury. "But you are unable to k-" "I am still your Majesty! You will obey me!" I said, grinning, trying to handle my anger. I couldn't accept that she was the same as the other evil who desired to kill only for the powers. "We are born to follow our history, not exterminate all the creatures. I will kill Amber for a profound reason and anyone who dared to stand against us, but that would be the last." Since my mother died in the moonlight clash, I swore I couldn't let anyone die anymore. I have fangs but I don't bite unless it's my greatest adversary. "I'm sorry, Your Majesty. I don't think rationally for a moment. Pardon me. I know I'm not supposed to lead you." "It was clear from the beginning that when it comes to power, you didn't hesitate to go beyond the line because you are eager to take my throne." a grin now forms on my visage, flashing white and sharp fangs. And my violet irises slowly turned into a glowing red hue. "But don't you dare to provoke me. I can kill you with my fangs." With that, I decided to walk out, leaving her standing still. She must be grateful because I was able to restrain my blazing sentiment. She's off the hook. They said I couldn't kill the Hybrid, but they never apprised me of the precise reason. However, nothing can stop me. I will slay Amber for my sake and bring back my mother's life. Whoever opposed me in my desire will be punished. And whoever attempts to stop me from fulfilling my desire will end up lifeless and drowned in their blood. After the briefest second of digging in my grievous yesterday, I dropped the matter and walked in front of the bloody sculpture. "Show me yourself, Almighty Fledgo. And tell me, who is the most powerful Siduxio Vampire in El Cantaria?" I lingered a few seconds until he showed up. The word that fled his lips caused my lips to curve in ecstasy.
