Ch.10 Elizabeth The next day I woke up later than usual with the sun shining through the window. “Good morning!” Kenna came in cheerfully with a tray of food. “Morning…, what’s all this?” I asked surprised to be getting breakfast in bed. “Queen Mary asked us to bring you your breakfast here. She wanted to let you rest.” Kenna smiled and put my tray on the bed. I took the cup of coffee first breathing in the fresh smell of it. “How are you feeling?” Kenna asked gently. “I’m ok… Tristan came to see me last night.” I said taking a sip from my drink. “What? Really?” Kenna asked surprised. “He asked me to stay away from him.” I said putting the cup in between my hands to try and warm them. “What? Why would he do that?” She asked thoughtfully. “I don’t know.” “He was livid yesterday. Thomas was telling me he almost ripped Justin’s head off for taking you out of the clinic. When they finally got him to calm down he took off and no one saw him the rest of the night.” Kenna told me. “I just wish this nightmare was over and we could go back home.” I said with a sigh. “I know, we will get this all sorted out though. You have support from the surrounding Alphas none of them want to see Blackburn succeed. You also have a number of suitors that are sending their interest. People know that you are here and are sending invitations left and right. And the Moon Celebration is in a few weeks which is where many of these suitors will come to see you and offer their support.” Kenna said hopeful. Not this again they had been trying to get me to entertain suitors. They argued that we could forge a strong alliance with one of the mate less alphas. I had declined every offer that had come my way. I wanted to marry because I cared about the person not because it was a good alliance. “Oh Kenna…” “Hear me out you might just find someone you really connect with. Just give them a chance there are so many trying to court you, you might just find you like one or two of them.” “I’ll think about it. I am going to get ready and head over to see Mary, I am sure she is worried.” I said getting up from the bed. “Ok sounds good! I am going to let the girls know that you are feeling better they’ve been worried about you.” Kenna said hoping of the bed. “Thanks Kenna!” I said. Later that day I was walking with Mary when a royal member was announced. “Mary darling, where is my nephew?” Came a voice that I knew all too well. It was Tristan’s aunt his late father’s sister. I had not seen her since I was a teen she had always been nice a bit eccentric and spacey but nice. “Jenna, how are you?” Mary said politely giving her sister in law a kiss on the cheek. “Famished!” She stated with a small laugh. “Well we can take care of that. You remember Elizabeth don’t you?” Mary said introducing me. “Oh my how you have grown child you were just a little bitty thing last time I saw you!” She said also giving me a kiss on the cheek. She had so much energy in her it was overwhelming. “So where is my nephew? I want to meet his future bride! I decided to come home early from my travels to meet her.” She said excitedly looking around. “I am not sure where she is, probably off with Tristan somewhere. Come lets get some lunch and catch up.” Mary said ushering us into the dinning room. I listen absent mindedly to the chatter of Jenna, as she tells us about her travels and all the people she has been spending time with. My mind kept going back to Tristan though, and how he wanted me to stay away from him. He would hear that his aunt was here and be coming over soon. I decided to excuse myself and get some fresh air. “Hey! Wait up” Thomas said jogging over to me. “Hey, what’s up?” “Mind telling me what you did to Tristan?” He said getting in step with me. His question made me stop in my tracks. “What do you mean?” I asked confused. “He has been in a terrible mood since he talked to you last night…Like really bad Elle.” “Wait you know he came to see me?” “Yes, he said he ‘needed’ to see you. He didn’t want Vivian to know, and after almost killing Justin for taking you to and from the clinic I figured I should just help him.” “He’s driving me crazy. He acts like he cares one second and then next tells me to stay away from him. I am really getting sick of this back and forth. Was he always like this?” I said frustration all over my words. “No. He’s been like this since you left. I thought it would get better with his mate got here but it seems his tempers gotten worse. Look I don’t know what he’s trying to sort out in his head but just look out for yourself.” Thomas said giving me a meaningful look, I nodded at him taking in his words. “Speaking of sounds like the need me. I’ll see you around.” He said taking off. Clearly he had gotten a mind link and was needed elsewhere. I continued my walk and headed to the edge of the forest making my way through the trees. I heard voices and realized that it was Tristan and Vivian. “Well, we could announce at the Moon Celebration.” Vivian said lacing her fingers through his. He brought her closer to his body and kissed her as if his life depended on it. My chest tighten at the site of them. He was right I had to stay from him I couldn’t take much more of this. I thought I was past these intense feelings, but it was clear I was still in love with him. I turned and ran back to the castle not wanting them to see me. I made my way back to my room and found Aylee there already. “Oh hey I was looking for you, Kenna wanted you to know that word was sent from Alpha Jacob. He is coming to the castle in a couple of days for the celebration. I am pretty sure he wants to meet with you.” “Kenna is right I should at least meet with them, and get to know them right?” I asked looking for reassurance. “Yes, and if they are a total bore then we will save you.” She said with a smile.
